Shading and Contouring with Teint Miracle Concealer and The Body Shop Lightening Touch

Hello all,

shading, highlighting and contouring has been a part of makeup since decades ago. In fact, as far as I remember makeup always have, but, what make them so different now and then? It's the technique and how it comes in a more natural and subtle on the overall look.

There's so many products we can use, from powder base to liquid. Foundation, compact powder, cream makeup, sticks or like these products, in pens.

This is a Lightening Touch from The Body Shop that I got in deep tone, so they are varied from light, medium to kinda dark. The lights one are suitable as highlighters and the the dark one to help shading. It is also can be used as a concealers and other benefits accordingly thanks to the pen shaped product for a more precise use.

Rotates the end part and gently the liquid will comes out to the brush.

Similar with Lancome Teint Miracle, but the pen need to be press on the end part.

Contradict to the product from The Body Shop, Lancome Teint Miracle Concealer I have is in lightest shade, it's no.01.

In terms of texture, I find Lancome Teint Miracle Concealer to be more finer and smoother as well on the skin.

1st LancĂ´me concealing pen enriched with microfluorescent particles for an illuminated finish.
Incredibly moisturising, creamy and oil-free; it brightens, smoothens and corrects with a tinge of highlighting effect.

Extremely lightweight and doesn't cake.

Use it to conceal dark circles, blemishes and other skin perfections or to highlight the eye contour, nose bridge, brow bone or the cupid's bow.

And below is where I uses them.

The highlither using Teint Miracle Concealer and The Body Shop Lightening Touch as a shading.

The dark shade all over hair line to help creating that egg shape head and illusion of a smaller face. Right below the cheeks for a deeper cheek bone visibility and rear side of the nose bridge for the effect of the highlighted area to be 'sharper' and last is the jawline to help decrease the double chin.

The highlights are used on the nose bridge and all the way to the lower forehead. Under the eye or at the triangle area of the eye bag and between upper cheek to the inner side of the cheeks, cupid bow and on me the chin, so my chin is more visible.

And these are not one size fit all and will never be. The area, shape and deepness of the contouring depends on ones bone structure, skin, and what they want to be. The image they want to portray, it can goes as natural as possible or as theatrical as possible.

And this is me after blending all of the products. Start from blending the highlighters first and then the shadings. Many type of tools can be used, from beauty blender to other sponges to brush. A good one will help the blending to be more soft and 'believable'.

And here's me after all the makeup is done. I love how the pens create a soft and light contouring and highlighting on me without looking so bold.

The Body Shop Lightening Touch could be a bit tricky, when used too much they'll become cakey and I need to be careful when blending them in, by using a tapping motion so the product does not noodles.

There are many products I've been using beside these babies, I love using compact powder as well as liquid foundation.

What about you? Share me your favorite products for contouring.
