Origins Clear Improvement® Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores

Hello lovelies,

I'm back with more review for Origins with the masks for every climate.

In this collection I'll share with you the Clear Improvement made for acne and oil control. Still, this product is made suitable for all skin type from dry, normal to oily, amazing isn't it?! So, those who have dry skin with acne, or normal skin with acne, or dehydrated skin with greasy oily, can all use this product.

-*-

The box contain information to all of the masks inside.

On each of the tube, there's details too, no worries about finding all the necessary information as their website also provide everything well.

-*-

From the how to use to ingredients are all there. And a special container is made for Clear Improvement as we can see what's inside the tube.

-*-

What's so special about Clear Improvement? It's the active charcoal inside.

Charcoal

Known as the “black diamond”, Charcoal has been prized for its purifying properties dating back to the Ming Dynasty in 1486. It’s created from Bamboo Ash and valued for its excellent absorption abilities. When applied to skin, it acts like a magnet to draw out dirt, debris and impurities.

-*-

Nature's complexion clean-up crew clears the way for skin to act its best. Bamboo Charcoal acts like a magnet to draw out deep-dwelling pore-cloggers, White China Clay absorbs environmental toxins, Lecithin dissolves impurities. Skin looks clear, feels perfectly pure.

How to use:
1. Once a week, open pores with warm water
2. Apply mask, and allow to dry.
3. Rinse well.
Ingredients: Water\Aqua\Eau; Myrtus Communis (Myrtle) Leaf Water , Kaolin , Bentonite , Butylene Glycol , Montmorillonite , Polysorbate 20 , Peg-100 Stearate , Charcoal Powder , Xanthan Gum , Lecithin , Peg-150 Distearate , Propylene Glycol Stearate , Sorbitan Laurate , Glycerin , Propylene Glycol Laurate , Simethicone , Caprylyl Glycol , Ethylhexylglycerin , Hexylene Glycol , Trisodium Edta , Dehydroacetic Acid , Phenoxyethanol

-*-

The thing about living in a tropical country where it is hot and humid (even when the rain season is here) is we sweat a lot and the pores tend to opened up due to the condition, hence we do attract dirt more than during dry or cold condition. That's why we need to take a shower twice a day and keeping ourselves clean more often.

Same goes with the face, it becomes oilier, stickier and for sure, attract more germs (hiks, cry out loud).

Look at the close up image of my face.

-*-

This is after cleansing, so there's no makeup whatsoever, the pores are visible since dirt are trapped, the nose especially, there's blackheads and acne on the side of the chin.

-*-

Above is the texture of the mask, not as dense nor thick like other charcoal mask I know, this is easier to distribute and dried up to making the skin feels pulled.

There's no sting, redness or allergic reaction to irritation, everything is pure comfort using Clear Improvement. I love it as sometime I feel concerned using products that cause tingling sensation on the skin.

-*-

I've been using the mask numerous time and always have a good time, I can use it with the other mask for acne (also from Origins) or alone all over my face for that 'detoxing' ability.

-*-

Use a brush for mask or your finger, it really doesn't matter.

The product has no distinct scent whatsoever, so it is perhaps unscented too, so the smell is pretty much like nothing (typical of charcoal).

Those with oily skin or acne prone or problems with smelly pores (due to being clogged) charcoal can cleanse everything well and absorb the smell too.

-*-

I love how they make this product as it is so gentle even to sensitive dry skin like mine, yet so effective even to my husband oily and acne prone skin. It's like my holy grail now, I can't never feel the same or looking for another product, I can see (ehm feel) why Origins become so famous (and pricey, hiks).

-*-

Enough with the feelings of using it, trust me it's so good, but you want to see result, right?! See the image below, the before after is so obvious.

-*-

Check out the pores on the upper cheeks and look at the amazing differences on my nose, the blackheads reduces by far and the skin appear in better mood thanks to the smaller pores. Like all the dirt have been sucked away by the mask, they are no longer have things that clogging. It is so good that the mask show significant improvement within single usage, this is why I keep using them and can't seem to get enough.

I'm using it on weekly basis to make the skin even more flawless. And of course, from cleaner and healthier skin comes better collaboration when using makeup.

-*-

A less problematic skin will always looks pretty.

Thank you so much Origins for the pores that shrunk, cleaned properly, and clearer complexion. This is for sure, highly recommended.

Tony Moly Magic Food Choco Mushroom Cream Pore Pack

Hello lovelies,

this is another post for the magic food mushroom series and it's their yummy choco mushroom cream pore pack.

-*-

Those who are an addict to chocolate, must love this one as it has the texture of a chocolate, smells of the chocolate and feels like chocolate too.

-*-

The pores definitely need to be cleaned to de-clogged it, so after using the scrub (strawberry sugar scrub) this is a mask that hydrates the pores. So unlike most pore pack products that focusing on cleansing only, Tony Moly Magic Food Choco Mushroom Cream Pore Pack also refreshed and give moist effect. If you are concern whether it equals to oily, it is SO NOT, it is still so clean yet not making the skin suffer feeling so irritably dry.

-*-

The details are like the rest of the Magic Food, on the box, so do read up before throwing it away.

-*-

After cleansing the skin well and after the scrub, I applied the choco cream onto the skin. The feeling is like using rich chocolate paste on the skin and the skin does response by enjoying it. It feels good. Like you are playing with food, it's that kind of feeling.

-*-

Unlike the scrub that has warm sensation on the skin, the pore pack is actually calming and a bit cooling. There's this thickness but not hot nor feels clogging. The skin feels good. And the mask will slowly harden, they'll not breaking dry like using a clay base mask, but like a chocolate being dried just nice coating the surface of the skin thinly. Please do watch the video on my instagram account @Carnellin as there's a real live features of using the scrub, mask and the sleeping mask too.

The choco mushroom and strawberry need to be rinse while the sleeping mask need not.

-*-

Since the skin already feels clean thanks to the scrub, now by using the choco mushroom cream pack, the clean feeling is deeper and like the pores become so clean they tighten up and made the skin feels even softer than before. I love how they made my skin feels like bouncy and fresh. Kinda made me feels younger, heehee.

-*-

Stay tune as I'll make another review soon for the sleeping mask, the golden mushroom that nourishing, a compliment to the series that cleans, detoxing and gives ample goodness to the skin.

Tony Moly Magic Food Strawberry Mushroom Sugar Scrub

Hello lovelies,

cruising is definitely fun, but as fun as it is, nothing can take my mind of beauty products. So, as I was walking along the shopping arcade, I see one store that really brings the smile to my face, cosmetics store, and they have all of these famous brands with much cheaper price. Since there's no tax in the open water, I'm enjoying them so much. These are Tony Moly's Magic Food Mushrooms.

-*-

I bought all three of them and apparently, they are made for each other and I'll make blog posts in the order of usage, start from the strawberry sugar scrub, and indeed they do taste sweet (oops, kinda accidentally lick it a bit).

-*-

These are some details from the website about the product. It is using strawberry seeds and sugar and it does come in this jam-like texture, like I'm actually using a jam. They are like a gooey gel slime with the fabulous scent of strawberry. It is delish!

-*-

If you're a fan of hard core scrub, do it on a dry skin, and if you prefer something more gentle, simply wet the skin up and then use the scrub on a moist skin.

-*-

The details are provided on the clear box, so do read them up before tossing it away. As these mushrooms doesn't really say anything aside from the box.

They look super cute right?! My daughter thinks that they are hers, "it's a toy!", she said.

-*-

If you see, the product does appear like jam, a gooey jam. Smells so much like strawberry jam, and as mentioned above, sweet too. But it is still not food, so don't eat it.

-*-

The scrub has a warm to a bit hot sensation on my skin, I don't know why, it's just feels so warm whenever I'm using it all over my face, like it was so concentrated.

-*-

I'm making a video to show you the texture and feeling when using it, do stand by on my instagram account @Carnellin, as 1 minute of these three mushrooms will be shown.

-*-

After the scrub, the skin feels softer and cleaner too. I seldom do scrub as I don't really like the after effect like irritating the skin but this one doesn't seems to be harsh. My skin doesn't look irritated and I feel happy whenever I'm using it.  Rinse the skin well after finish scrubbing, no need using too much force or massaging the skin for too long, 3-5 minutes is enough. The gentle scrub particle is just right, not too big and definitely not too small.  The sticky slimy gel sensation is fun and weird at the same time with a very refreshing strawberry scent hard to missed.

Tips: Don't forget to remove all makeup and clean the skin well before using the scrub so they can works better in deep cleansing the skin.

Don't forget to look for my next review regarding the choco and golden mushroom.

Thank you.

SkinFood Egg White Perfect Pore Cleansing Foam & Cleansing Water

Hello lovelies,

Today I want to share with you about eggs, yes, those eggs that we eat on mostly daily basis as long as you're not allergic to it, seems like they are very good for our skin.

Here's some information from SkinFood:

An egg is a powerhouse of protein! Rich in amino acids and vitamins, it's the driving force behind our egg-citing Egg White skin care line.

Nobody’ s Perfect, But Albumen Comes Close
Albumen, commonly known as egg whites, is one of nature’ s highest quality protein sources. It’ s also packed with niacin (Vitamin B3), riboflavin (Vitamin B2), selenium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, and potassium, and a complete amino acid profile. Containing no cholesterol, saturated fat, or carbohydrates, and at just 17 calories per white, egg whites hold a distinguished place in any healthy diet. But is it good for your skin?

I’ ve Got Egg On My Face, And It’ s A Good Thing
Here are four ways albumen works in our Egg White Pore line:
  • Regulates excessive sebum
  • Eliminates pore-clogging impurities
  • Tightens pores and minimizes their appearance
  • Eradicates skin bacteria

In the same way albumen protects and nourishes a baby chick in the shell, it can have the same energizing effects for your skin. The high level of protein in albumen, along with its natural low-moisture state, make it a very effective moisturizing and tightening agent. Albumen is also a natural anti-inflammatory. All of these virtues make egg white egg-cellent for exfoliating, refining pores, and controlling excess oil, as well as having an anti-aging effect!

-*-

Egg White
Upgraded Egg Perfect Pore line that uses 5 red and green food functions as well as a higher concentration of Egg Yolk, Albumin, and Hot Spring Water for a fresh poreless appearance.

The details sounds so impressive and astonishing isn't it?! But imagine of using sticky, slimy eggs on to the skin (or hair), the smell and texture itself my put some off for a while. Adding ingredients like olive oil, or essential oils like lavender and so on might help but still, can our skin really take those important stuffs in the eggs. Our skin have pores and they are tiny, many beauty manufacturers spend fortune turning raw materials to nano technology, so how about SkinFood? Let's see my review, okay?!

-*-

Again, due to aging or one of the thing that said to be aging is larger pores, it's just the way it is. The skin wasn't able to retain moisture as it is and loose it flexibility in keeping them tight, so the skin stays after enlarging. So the pores are like breathing things where they can become large or shrink, like when we were hot they will open up and when we are cold like after an ice mask, the pores are definitely shrinking.

Now, to keep the pores small, things need to be done in regular basis, and keeping them clean also one of the way, if they were clogged, they'll stay open. So cleanliness also one of the key, why don't we start with the cleanser then.

-*-

Upgraded fresh pore-specialized foam that removes impurities and excessive oils for a smooth poreless complexion.
Directions
Dispense ample amount onto wet palm and massage onto face avoiding eye and mouth area. Rinse off with warm water.

Ingredients:
Water, Myristic Acid, Glycerin, Potassium Hydroxide, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Lauric Acid, Sucrose, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Cetearyl Olivate, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Albumen Extract, Egg Yolk Extract, Sorbitan Olivate, Fragrance, Sodium Chloride, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Disodium Edta, Butylene Glycol, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Salicylic Acid, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Polysorbate 80, Phenoxyethanol, Oleth-7, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Beta-Sitosterol, Serenoa Serrulata Fruit Extract, Sulfur, Tocopherol, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract

The product lathers well when added with water, but there's this tartness, like when you are touching white eggs that started to dry up, there's this sensation or feeling of rigid, I'm not saying it as a good or bad thing, more like describing as it is. The face feels weirdly clean thou, since there's this tart feeling. So, it kinda feels like there's some leftovers on the skin, it's a good thing that the other thing I have is their Cleansing Water.

-*-

A no-rinse cleansing water that immediately shrinks visible pores and leaves a refreshing finish without stickiness.
Directions
Sufficiently moisten a cotton pad with the product and lightly wipe your entire face. You can leave it on stubborn makeup to absorb for easier removal. Thoroughly rinse with lukewarm water and finish with cold water. What?? So we need to rinse it or not??

Ingredients:
Water, Peg-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Egg Yolk Extract, Albumen Extract, 1, 2-Hexanediol, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Citrate, Propylene Glycol, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Fragrance, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Cetrimonium Chloride, Centella Asiatica Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Butylene Glycol, Citric Acid, Polysorbate 80, Phenoxyethanol, Oleth-7, Salicylic Acid, Sulfur

-*-

Funny thing, the details said to use it on a cotton pad and it cleans the skin (kinda like micellar water) but then after that, they said to rinse it off (all the details are from The Face Shop official website), so it's a bit confusing for me to use it like toner or rinse it off. But I feel better with rinsing it off since again, there's this tartness or taut or tight feeling afterwards. Those who owns oily skin perhaps will enjoy this matte like feeling. But the sides of my nose feels a bit pain, like being too dry and irritated. Still, the rest of the face is fine, so perhaps I just keep on focusing on the upper cheeks near below the eyes area where the pores are visibly large and not anywhere else.

Those are seems to response well and appear shrunk. I like it.

-*-

Overall,

a relatively good daily cleanser (not makeup remover) that focusing on large pores, making them appear smaller like when using egg whites without the stickiness or slimy feeling of an egg, and not the gamy and smells too, so they smells pretty good. Those with oily skin will enjoy this product even more while those with combination to dry perhaps using the products on some areas that need the effects.

Tsururi Ghassoul Mineral Clay Pack

Hello lovelies,

weekend is here!! It's time to pamper our skin with good products. I try to keeping up with all my masks, yes, there's a lot of them at home and I should've use them more often as they are actually good for my skin.

I have one for brightening, hydrating, softening, exfoliating and this one deep cleansing.

A friend of mine just got back from Japan and she brought me this, a hit product that has been a rave and I know why.

-*-

http://www.bcl-brand.jp

The "Tsururi", Gasuru * beginning with the cleansing series and blended with natural materials that was, such as base makeup to turn off the pores in the make-up effect, is a brand that approach to the troubles of the pores in every item.

In the adsorption force and detergency is mud pack of popular Morocco Gasuru batter inclusive.
Remove the pores of blackheads and Zara with, it gives a clear sense of smooth.
Scent of herbal spa with a blend of natural essential oils, gives a pleasant sense of relaxation also in the pack.

Do mind the google translate from Japanese.

-*-

Ingredients:

Kaolin, water, DPG, tetra-ethyl hexane acid pentaerythrityl, silicic acid (Al / Mg), cocoyl methyl taurine Na, allantoin, Alga near spinosa kernel oil, glycosyl trehalose, sesame oil, honey, honey extract, hyaluronic acid Na, propolis extract , whey (milk), royal jelly, royal jelly extract, hot spring water, hydrogenated starch hydrolysates, brown sugar extract, charcoal, BG, xanthan gum, citric acid, citric acid Na, glycerin, polyethylene, Morocco lava clay, coconut oil alkyl glucoside, phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, fragrance, iron oxide

-*-

Most of the details is in Japanese language, but I think Japanese already knew that their products is famous worldwide hence on the front part, we can at least know what is this product for and what's inside.

-*-

I love their packaging, nowadays every tubes are like this, the surface is smooth and very convenient to be used. I find that all Japanese products to be so cleverly designed and made.

-*-

The color of the clay is gray and the formula has a very smooth texture. I'm a big fan of clay, mud and all those things, since it is already known for cleansing. I love going to mud spa or perhaps someday I can go to a mud festival in Korea, nevertheless, for now, I'm satisfied with this tube.

It has a pleasant mild scent and doesn't really felt as drying as other mud. I've tried dead sea mud and it's really drying, it made my skin feels super duper clean and overly dry, so I usually use it only on my t-zone, but with Tsururi Ghassoul Mineral Clay Pack, it was pure comfort, I can use it on my cheeks too, just not too often.

-*-

I'm using the clay mask while having my hair manicured with a purple color, it's like an all in one day for me, beautifying day, hooray!

I waited for around 20-30 minutes and they'll gradually dried up. The feeling is the skin become firmer and firmer, as it dries up, the skin feels tight as the mask dries and shrunk.

I don't have any complain using the mask, I love it! My pores appear so clean afterwards. Just rinse everything off with water and they'll comes off. Don't forget to pay attention on areas like nose's sides and removed every clay as cleanly as possible. And I found out that the mask works best on a cleaned skin too.

-*-

 Overall,

Definitely a product worth trying and having. It cleanses thoroughly yet still so mild on sensitive and dry skin. The texture is super fine and very smooth with mild scent too. The feeling after using the product is the skin feels very clean yet still very much comfortable and not dried up, perhaps since there's ingredients like honey that keep the skin moist.

Votre Peau Vitamin C Serum

Hello lovelies,

a few moment ago a brand contacted me and introduce their new products. I was offered this vitamim C serum. Located in South Jakarta, Votre Peau is still rather new, around one year old with a few products offered to the customer. Do check out their website for further info.

-*-

http://votrepeauskincare.com

  • Aplikasikan tiga sampai empat tetes pada wajah dan leher.

  • Gunakan serum pada pagi dan malam hari secara teratur sebelum menggunakan cream perawatan wajah.

-*-

Au contraire to the introduction from the brand, the details regarding the product is pretty suffice on their website, from how to use to ingredients. But I don't see the percentage of the vitamin C since I've been using another vitamin c serum from another brand 10,5%.

Based on my personal experience and observation, the vitamin c in this serum is less or around 5 or 6%, which made the product pretty light and everyone could use it since some with sensitive skin could not even take vitamin c higher than 7,5%.

The texture is as seen on the image above, it is clear, gel-like, easy to be absorbed, slightly sticky at first but comfortable after absorbed and there's a slight of lemon scent hinted around 1 second. Using it as a serum is pretty light, in fact for me it was kinda too light, I guess the product suits best for those around early twenties or even slightly below. I can simply added another serum and it wont be a problem (at least so far). Any moisturizer used afterwards also doesn't work against each other. So, in my case, after trying it with numerous other products, it works just fine.

Do I see differences upon using it in an instant? Nope. It is a product that have to be kept used for an ample period of time before seeing a significant result, perhaps 4 weeks and on the skin that haven't really use serum or skincare diligently. Still, I do have expectancy upon this brand and willing to try another products from them since so far it didn't cause any discomfort from redness, allergic reaction, greasy nor acne, or any other form of reaction which is not preferred.

Overall,
pros: lightweight, easy to be used on a cleaned and toned skin before moisturizer, anyone can use it male or female and the formula is pretty light. Price wise is more budget friendly that others in the market.
cons: it might took a while to see the 'dramatic' result.

Tips:

Keep it away from the sunlight, since any product with vitamin, especially vitamin c need to be hide from the sun, keep it in a cool and shaded place.

SAMPAR L'Impossible C-Rum

Hello lovelies,

this is a remarkable serum from SAMPAR.

-*-

http://www.sampar.com

Super-concentrated with 24% active anti-aging ingredients combined for the first time ever, The Impossible C-Rum is the first anti-aging « Skin Guard » serum with both preventative and corrective powers, destined to turn back time on skin aged from 20 to 60+ years.
With a 58% increase of Collagen* synthesis within 5 days after application and a dramatic 100% of Anti-wrinkles effect**, The Impossible C-rum accomplishes the impressive feat of restoring the Firmness Capital regardless of skin age.
Facial firmness is quickly restored and the contour is refined. Plus, the complexion is unified and the skin recovers lost radiance and vitality.

-*-

Yes, you've read it correctly, it provide firmness, radiance, hydration, vitality, and it's like an elixir of youth in a bottle.

A lot of products in the market nowadays gives either one or two solution within a range, they are 'more specific' and caters a few issues at once. They are not wrong because some might need only in those minutes, but aging comes in many different ways and affecting all of the above.

-*-

Lack of radiance, dull skin, uneven skin tone, sagging and wrinkly lines everywhere. It might not be all at once at the same time, but gradually or on some people, all at once. But in the end, aging are creating all those issues which we want to tackle.

SAMPAR L'Impossible C-Rum caters everything that we could think of regarding the aging process. One serum known and named as L'Impossible C-Rum.

-*-

I'm in the mid 30's now and clearly my skin has started the aging process the minute I left 20's. I need products that help the skin beyond hydration. Like when I'm in my early 20's, a simple moisturizer will do, in the mid to late 20's, serum has become a must addition and changing my regular moisturizer into something that comes with 'pre-aging' creams, and along the way eye cream also added, and now, I love how SAMPAR L'Impossible C-Rum come into my life, just in time.

SAMPAR signature products evolved in light texture that I truly love. Even thou's it is packed with 'rich' ingredients:

YR Peptide(Skin Youth Reverse Peptide)
Glucosamine-6
CLE (LipoEncapsulated C-vitamin)
Adenosine

They still feel pretty much comfortable and light on the skin.

How to use the serum? Like any other serum, cleaned skin, toner and right before moisturizer.

-*-

I've been using the product with any other cleanser, toner and moisturizer from any other brand and they work just fine. But if you want a more optimum result, do use them within the brand and range.

Within days, my skin looks radiant, supple, hydrated, moist, supple and those fine lines does look lessen. I still can see the deep line but overall, very pleased with the result and will continue using the serum.

As usual, SAMPAR products gives ample information and details at the box and pamphlet inside the box.

SAMPAR is available in Indonesia at Beauty Box.

Thank you so much.

Shu Uemura Stage Performer Smooth Out

Hello lovelies,

this is Shu Uemura Stage Performer Smooth Out. A product from shu uemura made as a base for makeup.

http://www.shuuemura-usa.com

Instant Pore Blurring Primer.
A stage-inspired primer that instantly minimizes appearance of pores. Can be also used partially for smoothing out concerned areas or use it all over the face as a primer
Smoothed out skin in an instant. Instantly refined, instantly smooth.

-*-

  • Use after cleansing and skin care steps. Take an appropriate amount and pat on concerned areas and blend with fingertips.
  • Ingredients: DIMETHICONE, DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER, SILICA, ISODODECANE, DISODIUM STEAROYL GLUTAMATE, ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE

-*-

The packaging is like most of shu's collection from the makeup area, black with details in white. Simple, sophisticated and with class.

The products comes in a tube, easy to be disperse and everything made in Japan (which means in fully function).

-*-

The cream is ivory color and like most of the products that are similar, a silicon like formula that hides pores and made the skin appear flawless and poreless.

-*-

Easy to be used and blended on the skin, it settles quite fast , so don't wait around and work it out on the skin as soon as you get them out from the tube. You may apply the product all over your face or only on several areas where the pores are the most visible. It created that velvety and powdery finish so the skin not just look smoother but felt smoother too.

On me, it also hides redness and mild imperfection, as seen on the image below, the after skin become fairer, less blotchy and like having a dust of loose powder.

-*-

I want to test the ability of the base by not applying any foundation afterwards, just powder makeup. Followed with the colors and they do last for 5-6 hours before the sebum and sweats starts to melt them up, I can prolonged the staying power by adding some dusting powder every 3-4 hours.

-*-

Above is when the makeup is still fresh and below after around 4 hours later.

As seen, the base is quite good, it made my skin appear flawless with minimal makeup. I don't have to use a liquid foundation, just a BB Powder and loose powder after the Smooth Out and the base is pretty much done. No one can tell that I'm not piling on makeup base.

-*-

Thank you so much Shu Uemura Indonesia.
