it's like a back to back review for moisturizer, but this one is a legend, a moisturizer brand that has been an utmost favorite of mine since like years and years ago. I tried their moisturizer once and I'm sold. They have the best formula in terms of safety standards and efficacy.

The one I'm having is kinda a limited edition 100 ml formula, and it have like a metal thingy inside which I hope is not a spatula made to be used with the product, since somehow I don't believe in skincare used with metal, like honey and stainless spoon perhaps, but I could be wrong in the metal spatula, however I keep it as a souvenir only and use another plastic made spatula.

The details given on the website is amazing isn't it?! And it doesn't stop there, if you happen to read the reviews on their website many even name it as a magic in a jar, or obsessed, will keep using it and so on, and it does, I do believe in them, after using it for many years, on and off, as well, I do find it better than many moisturizer on the market, even those with price twice or more than this one.

The cap of the product is still the same as many years before, like a hat back in the old days. The container is satisfying, especially it contain 100ml, somehow I smile and happy just looking at it, knowing that my skin will stay hydrated and plump for the next 3 months give and take.

This is the texture of the cream, it is white in color and like a perfect emulsion between watery liquid and cream. Kinda like a milky creamy consistency and the smells of the fresh herbs that's comforting and kind to the skin.

Looking at the tub, the product does seems overflowing with the creams. Using the one that stuck on the lid itself took me a few days. My skin is dry and pretty much sensitive too. If I use a skincare that a bit harsh, or contain certain kind of chemicals that might be okay for most people, on me, it can be seen within minutes to hours.

Wrong serum? I develop tiny acne within 12 hours, any product that have a tag line as 'exfoliation'? My skin become red within minutes, skincare with too much fragrance or perhaps alcohol? Itchy and burn feeling within seconds. And mostly those are from using drug store or mass produced brands that already have standards and pass many bars like USFDA and so on.

I don't believe in purging nor having my skin 'suffer for a better future' nor 'cleansing' that cause breakouts and more stuffs like that. I don't like to squeeze my acne, pimples, blackheads and other things that doesn't normally shown on the skin. I like them to be treated with dignity and kindness, I don't believe in terms 'beauty is pain'.

So using this cream means as well, it means pampering, caring, nurturing and be kind to my skin in a way that my skin show healthy significance effects from moist, plump, to healthy glow and looking like I 'm well rested (when I'm clearly not), I have that glow from within and my skin looks and appear way younger than I'm actually am with no wrinkles nor lines.

So I believe in Napiers formula that:

Upon application, the skin will appear glistening moist, wait a few minutes and it will be absorb on to the skin and it will feel soft while moist at the same time. Leaving the skin grease-less but visible healthier. What I enjoy the most is the long lasting moist effect that still light and comfortable. The formula is rich, but the cream is not thick and doesn't have that oily feeling perhaps it even felt smooth. The skin will appear moist for a day. Even thou' I never leave it unmoisturized for the next 26 hours since I always take a shower twice a day, so 12-18 hours is top.

I pretty much use the moisturizer with any toner and serum I have at home, I always made sure my skin is clean before applying skincare, and I tried to sleep at least 20 minutes after applying skincare, just to make sure they have ample time to be absorbed and not by my pillows sheets.

Dehydrated skin will definitely enjoy and gain many benefits from using this cream, as well as many other skin condition. I put it on my must have item of all times.

Playing with Mixing Palette from BeautyGoodsID and Altering Foundationwith Skincare

BeautygoodsID aka Wenny sent me one of her mixing palette, a simple product that you probably already seen it here and there at instagram. Yes, she only sells her items at instagram with an id @BeautyGoodsID

At first, I thought, hmm what am I going to do with this thing? And ideas start popping, something that I really want to do, making my own concoction of makeup base. Mixed with my favorite skincare or other things....curious? Let's check them out.

Start with the most classic of them all, Advanced Night Repair serum and Double Wear foundation. The serum is famous for being so light in texture yet hydrating the skin nicely, and those are the instant effect only, the long term benefit consist of repairing the skin back to it's perfect form. The Double Wear foundation also loved by many for it's great finish, but we all know how quick it dries up and settles. Most makeup artist from Estee Lauder's team will suggest the usage of this dynamic duo together.

What is the difference in using hand as the media or mixing palette, first, the hand has temperature and pores, it will change the texture, even if it's only a slight. The pores will absorb some of it's 'liquid-ness' hence the mixture will become drier faster. The mixing palette has a room temperature, doesn't absorb the products being put on top and last, no messy hands means less germs too.

By mixing these two together, it will gives us more time to blend the product onto the facial skin. This may not be a problem for an expert but for amateurs (like me) extra time means better applications, softer finish and more flawless result.

As seen the palette does not affected the products and solely function as a container, use a brush to blend the products together or I can apply the foundation first followed by the serum during blending.

Take note, there's no differences in preparing the skin before makeup, even thou' there's serum here, it doesn't meant we can skip the skincare routine. Start by cleaning the skin, use toner, serum, moisturizer, wait around 10 minutes or until the skin is ready for makeup and the skincare is absorbed well.

Now, my second concoction is a mixed between serum and drugstore foundation and the third one is facial oil by belif and the drugstore foundie. So one same foundie with 2 possibilities outcome by using 2 different mixture, one, an oil based product, and another a water based product.

The one mixed with water based serum from V10Plus remain it's original form and velvety but the one with facial oil lightens a bit and feels loosen more than the other. On the skin, the foundie mixed with V10Plus set faster, as the water based is easier to be absorbed by the skin, this concoction is perfect for those with normal to dry skin, it added a hint of moisture without being too much.

The foundie mixed with true facial oil is best for those with dry-very dry skin, as the foundie become so moist, but not oily, the true facial oil from belif is wonderful and I can see why this ultra fine oil is loved. The skin will glisten beautifully even with a drugstore foundie like Za.

Now, I'm adding a moisturizer from Hada Labo in the V10Plus mixture, this will make the mixture loosen and create a base like tinted moisturizer. The percentage of the products used will determine how it will be, more foundie means more coverage, less foundie means lighter makeup, suitable for those who doesn't like to use thick makeup. A BB cream can also be made by yourself using skincare, such as serum, moisturizer containing spf and foundation. Some powder may be added as well.

All depends on the brands and ingredients, not all brand is suitable with other products, I know for sure Double Wear foundation from Estee Lauder is best with the ANR alone.

These are the result of a tinted moisturizer, a light coverage with moist effect. You may change the moisturizer according to what you have and the result desired. Here's some tips in choosing moisturizer:
Hydrating moisturizer which focused on adding moisture, usually contain more water will give the skin a natural hydrated look, suitable for almost all skin type.
Anti aging moisturizer, usually thicker and contains oils, will help those with aging signs as the ingredient may 'blurred out' or fills in the lines and wrinkles. Also help promote a better complexion.
Lifting moisturizer, feels a bit rubbery, hence it may not be suitable with a lot of foundie since it will create crease and/or perhaps noodle-ing.
Whitening/brightening moisturizer, helps lightens the tone, best to used for those looking for a fairer skin. Add some sparkles or golden dust, like the sample (way below).

Above is without some sparkles and below is adding some golden dust from IZU. The fine particles is perfect, bigger particle is not advice-able since it will make some gunk instead of nicely blend. No one wants a chunk of golden sparkles in random places.

Ta-da, glowing skin instantly, suitable for those going into special occasion like a wedding.

Cleaning wise? I use a simple makeup remover and they are all gone.

Drop some speedy cleansing liquid directly and using the same brush, mix it up so nothing sticks, use a tissue and wipe them off. I proceed with cleaning it with a dishwashing liquid (just to remove the residue from speedy cleansing liquid) and the mixing palette is good as new.

I'm just happy I can sit in front of my laptop and write again. Thank you so much for everyone, I'm much better now and can sit properly again ... but not too long heehee, gradually I will regain my health. Surgery is not a thing we should take lightly and always consider it as the last option, I know I do, since it is super painful X__x

Now, back to the topic of health thingy, skin is one of the organ we need to protect every single day. By keeping them clean, moist and away from the bad side effect of the sun. Is it possible? I met this products months and months ago (I think it's almost a year now) and still loving it as if it was my first love. The attractive packaging and bright yellow color is something hard to be missed.

Here's inside the packaging. A pot of compact powder, mirror and a puff. Hmm, where's the sun protection? It's the powder!

Perfect for those who hates sticky sun protection, glossy sunblocks, white cast caused by lotion of sun screen, and those who can't find the exact same tone of sun lotion for their skin where it might be in BB Cream or tinted moisturizer.

The powder has a light texture and transparent after setting. So it doesn't even visible to the naked eye. Since it is not a lotion/gel/cream/water it doesn't have the side effect of products with those kinds of texture.

We need to use sun protection daily and for me this powder is a wonderful addition to my daily routine since it can be done after the makeup is set and retouch anytime.

How to use:
Carefully use the puff and puff away everywhere on the skin where's needed, facial and/or body, and make sure all the parts are covered. Use it anytime I feel like it and since it is SPF 50+ it does stay all day long. I do touch up after sweating or getting wet (ex: by rain).

Belif Men Manology 101,Facial Cleansing Foam, Alcohol Free Toner, Essential Moisturizer.

as a continuation from my previous post on Manology 101 from Belif (HERE), now it's the series for the face.

Facial Cleansing Foam, Alcohol Free Toner (hooray), and Essential Moisturizer. A simple 3 step skincare regime for the men to look good with healthy skin all over.

My husband skin type is rather oily, dehydrated, with lines and wrinkles plus acne prone too.

Let's start the routine with the first step, cleansing.

As like all belif products, everything is written in the packaging, no mineral oil, no synthetic fragrances, no synthetic preservatives, no sodium lauryl sulfate, etc. So inside there are natural origin ingredients beneficial for the skin.

This is the cleanser, thick, creamy, kinda like a dense foam and like mentioned in the image, smells really good. Like a fresh citrus, berry and some other herbs.

And when rinsed there's this squeakiness, but after dried the squeakiness is gone, the skin left with soft and smooth sailing clean feeling.

The cleansing foam lathers easily and give the skin a clean effect without drying. Nice smell too!

Note for ladies, the cleanser doesn't clean makeup.

Then followed by the toner.

An alcohol-free toner for men’s skin that is exposed to frequent shaving and various external factors. Readily absorbed and gently soothes and moisturizes sensitive skin after cleansing or shaving. With Marrubium, sebum control herb complex, Napiers Original formula. Apparently this product understand that most men are looking for a sebum control in their toner, I know for sure my husband, brothers and dad enjoy this toner for it's sebum control properties without drying the skin off it's moisture.

The texture is almost like water and felt like water too. This is comforting for men's skin, especially knowing that a lot of men's product out there do consist of alcohol, from the very high level til the mildly available. So belif alcohol free toner is a refreshing choice for the men.

My hubby said: The toner felt like water, are you sure this is a toner?
Me: Yes
Hubby: Okay, it's good then, there's no sting effect or sharpness like other toner which have alcohol in it. But how come there's zero scent?
Me: There is, it's mild, but I can smell there's a faint scent. Very faint indeed.
Hubby: So there's no scent?
Me: Err.....Kinda. So, how's the effect on the skin?
Hubby: It's good, it made the sebum less productive.

Overall, the Essential Moisturizer gives the skin the basic need of hydration without the grease. On the skin the moisturizer feels light, cooling and refreshing at the same time. Leaving the skin plumped and moist too. Rated 'good' from my husband means it's really good, as normally he complains a lot and rarely praise, so when belif's Manology 101 get his stamp, it means they are recommended ^__^

Bottom line, all three products here are recommended for being so light and providing the basic need's of men's skin without being too much or leave any unnecessary leftovers. Smells freshly good and it seems like all three of them got the right texture, lightness yet fulfilling in the same time.

these are very special items which I'm blessed to try them on my self and my husband's as well. Yes, the variant here given are actually for men, from Belif Cosmetics called Manology 101.

There are a total of 5 items specially made for men. 2 for the body, 3 for the face. In this opportunity I would like to share the products for the body.

First of all, I'm so happy and glad finally there's products for men in the market without being too harsh nor 'too much'. Locally, men are considered so 'dirty', oily, dandruff-y (hair), dull and need whitening products, seriously, I went to many places (local supermarkets/store) for over the counter products and some luxury brands, most of them sells items for body odors, over sweats, greasy, oily and dull skinned man. My man is NOT in those category. He is considered as a well-groomed person who longed for a simple products fits to his needs without being too much.

Regarding the thick white creamy texture:

He: It's okay, nothing to complain.

She: I love how rich it felt and on the skin, the creamy gel glide effortlessly. Luxurious all over and feels pampering.

The scent:

He: Refreshing and smells really good. It's a nice option compared to most products for men out there. Is there a ginger in it?
She: It's a mix between something citrus and something warm like ginger. The product smells really energizing, like it said in the packaging. Sniffing it makes me feels like I'm in a spa.

The Bubbling Action:

He: There's a lot of bubbles, nice!
She: I love how easy they lathered up and the soft bubbling action makes me use less than other body wash. And every pop! There's goes the scent happily flying in the air. The whole bathroom smells good.....yes, I'm a big fan of the scent.

When using it:

He: It seems like they do the job well, cleaning the skin and not so slippery but I can feel the lathers clean the skin well, with a slight warming sensation on the skin.
She: I feel like I'm pampered. The lathers is rich, fluffy and using a sponge would definitely add more bubbles and foam making it more fun and energizing as it lifts up my mood. A definite mood booster.
When rinsing and after effect:

He: Easily rinse and doesn't leave the skin feeling squeaky dry nor slippery. So I'm good to go as it seems like the product gives the skin a good cleansing action, smells good (without being girlie or smells like flowers) and the skin which sometime itch due to other soaps, feels not itchy at all. The skin which usually easily irritated looks calm and fresh. I like the combination of feeling clean without overly stripe off the moisture. I will definitely keep using the product and recommend it to my fellow mates.

She: Oohhh, this is really good. I know for sure there are a lot of soaps and body cleanser out there that striping off the moisture from the skin, so the skin feels like floor and irritated. Energizing Body Wash from belif is far from that. It is superbly wonderful. After rinsing, I can immediately feel the skin being energized, cleaned, yet still hydrated and moist. I love the lasting warmth sensation, not hot, but warm. I know this product is for men, but I'll sneak in once in a while and enjoy it as well. For me it's irresistible.

After the invigorating shower experience, we'll move on to the emulsion.

Yup, in this case, emulsion is a mixed between 2 liquids which usually un-mix-able. Something from the water family and something from the oil family.

Result? A beautiful white creamy gel which feels cooling on the skin and gives instant hydrating effect.

He: The anti-sticky emulsion is a fresh and unique option from the usually so oily/greasy lotion or worse those lotion for whitening which sometime irritates the skin. The smell is somewhat like the Body Wash, so I'm a fan alright and doesn't leave any residue on the skin, like instantly absorbed. For dry skin I need another lotion to top it off especially when used to the slippery feeling of normal lotion.
She: I love it. I'm so bored with conventional lotions nowadays and Jakarta is just getting hotter and hotter. Normal lotion will make my skin feels like difficult to breath (sometime) and when sweating, it will be like grease and yucky. The emulsion is perfect for the body as it was so light yet the nutrients needed by the skin is provided to stay looking healthy and plump without being too much. Like the proportion is done just right. I bet they did use a measuring glass in creating this perfect concoction.

But, frankly speaking, even thou I can use all of the body care from Manology 101 (and loving them), I do longed for products for my gender, and yup, belif does carry on for me (female) too. Hopefully soon I can try all of them and give you some review as well.
