Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash

Hello lovelies,

I've been using Kiehl's Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash for a week now and since this is just a premium travel size which I bought along with their Advent Calendar, so 7 days means they are all out. The full size I believe can last for more than a month when used alone.

This face wash is best to be used as a final cleanser, after removing all makeup and for daily debris or those morning washes (note: when you slept on a clean skin for sure), so it's a lightweight wash. Not a makeup nor sunscreen remover.

The yellowish brown clear gel lathers easily and smells like their calendula toner, if you haven't tried their calendula toner, well, you're missing a lot. Which is also the reason why I'm interested in trying the face wash is because I love their calendula toner.

So is the product worth the purchase? Well, kinda. I'm not gonna say it's a deep cleansing product, more like a daily face wash that I like to use for every day and as often as I want. It cleans my skin and helps removing makeup remover or anything left behind by the previous cleanser or my daily cleanser when I'm not using any makeup nor sunscreen (like said).

It has a white milky gel creamy texture that easily lathers on wet hair. Add more and more water when needed and it kept on lathering. The cleansing feeling is fresh and wonderful. Unlike other shampoo that focusing on silicon and making their hair limp, Ultimate Thickening Shampoo made the hair feels like, kinda like the voluminous one but it is focusing on the hair growth, so the ingredients is helping the scalp.

There's a slight tingling feeling but it's really mild and comfortable. It's not as strong as other hair growth shampoo, it's more like a reinforcement.

Does it helps me? Compared to regular shampoo, of course! But in terms of other products or brand that focusing on hair growth, with their serums, tonics, etc, it's still need more 'action'.

Let's just say it's an option available at Kiehl's for those who want a Kiehl's shampoo that more to the hair growth.

Cocoa Butter 

Cocoa Butter is a yellowy lipid expressed from the roasted seeds of the cocoa plant. It is solid at room temperature but melts at body temperature. It softens and lubricates skin and is used in a variety of skin care formulations.

The product is slightly creamy, white and smells exactly like the whole collection of superbly, like this deep citrus.

It is made for dry hair and can be benefit for the parts that are damaged too. The natural benefit of argan is healing, either skin or hair.

The conditioner is silky and can be used for just about any hair type aside from the dry, it made my daughter's hair soft and smooth too and mine to be tangle free. Do avoid the scalp as conditioner are never meant for scalp. Only on the mid length part of the hair and all the way to the ends.

The scent is comfortable, since I personally love the superbly collection, but it is mild and doesn't stay long after rinsing.

I dry my hair as usual or style and the hair usually stays shiny thanks to the conditioner. Definitely suitable to be used daily after shampooing and don't forget to rinse it thoroughly.

I love touching my hair as it made them softer.

This is a shampoo made for dry hair for sure. Dry, frizzy-ness and everything in between. Coarse included. The shampoo lathers easily and their signature scent for products in the Argan Oil series is repeated here as well. Remember that Kiehl's also carry Argan Oil Body Lotion (that I love).

The shampoo comes in a milky white gel like texture, foamed up instantly on wet hair and when the hair is finished being cleaned, usually, other 'normal' shampoo in the market will make the hair squeaky 'clean', this one doesn't. The hair feels silky and smooth. I was worried, I have oily scalp, I need that sense of cleanliness since the sebum can overreact and made my hair limps and heavy.

I was right, the scalp becomes oily easily within 2-3 hours and getting worse every hours passed. I have to wash my hair before the day ends.

On the hair, the oiliness also seeping in. I looked like I haven't wash my hair for days. They doesn't frizz alright, but also loose their volume. I think the shampoo doesn't suits me well, so usually, I'm using it on my hair only and use another shampoo for my scalp. At least the effect wont be all over my head, just the hair that gets the golden liquid (Argan Oil). And if I may make a suggestion, do use them with warm water, somehow cold water made the oil 'freeze' like they are more solid and 'stuck' on the coarse parts or the hair, when the water is warm, the oils feels smooth and runs through easily.

Continue with your favorite mask or conditioner, Kiehl's also have many masks and conditioner to try. Do pair them or play mix and match according to your scalp and hair's needs.

Keenan Pierce, Unity in Diversity for Nusantara, a silhouette of Candi Borobudur with many other culture from all over Indonesia, showing how in our differences, we can still be one.

Prisia Nasution, writes in Honocoroko, a dying tradition, she wants to preserve them before it's too late, with Candi Borobudur and her Javanese heritage, she emphasize in preserving.

Lala Karmela started her story in reminding us on the dimension and history of Candi Borobudur itself. How it has become one of the seven wonder of the world and how it has gone through a lot over the years. Disasters and even tourists sometime contribute in ruining the artifact. It's time for us to help taking care of Candi Borobudur. With a girl on the cover and the Candi Borobudur, she emphasize on how human can live in harmony with Candi Borobudur.

I love it, she looks pretty in a shiny purple.

I always opt for an eye serum since it penetrate easier on the skin and doesn't gives that creamy nor greasy side effect since my eyes are already greasy enough.

Below, that's the dot. That's approximately almost a full pump.

That amount is enough for the areas on both eyes. So use both middle and index finger, rub them together and gently apply them on the area like shown on the box. If you're confuse or unsure, the KCR's at any Kiehl's counter will help you out. They also help suggesting whether this particular item is the right product for you or not.

After a bit of blending, before disappearing into the skin. This is how it looks like. So shiny and like a pearly glow. It moisturizes the area by giving an instant hydration and help lifted up the eyes.

The paraben formula feels so light and more safe to be used on the eyes, the skin feels a nit of cooling action once applied.

The firming result is noticeable after days of using it.
On me it's around a week, and I like that it somehow made the eyes looks younger by plumping the skin so the fine lines are less visible. This is a suitable product to be used on sensitive area since it is really like and comforting. I'm using it alone and without any other eye cream and so far, I'm really happy of the feeling when using it and effect. I'll keep using the product for sure!

This is one of hubby's favorite, he's been using it through summer and winter, short to overnight flight. He highly recommend the product for the moisturizing effect on the skin without oily feeling, the hydrating power stands against many tough condition and the gel like cream also comfortable all day long.

He uses the moisturizer daily with or without serum and his skin become moist every day without fail.

And how does it feels on the skin? Lovely!!! I love how it smoothly cleans my sensitive and sometime dry skin to its best without making it dry nor leave any discomfort. The aroma of calendula is mild and so does the foam felt on the skin. It really does cleans daily debris and light makeup. But for waterproof makeups, I need a makeup remover first.

The after feeling after cleaning with it is also soft and delicate. It made the skin feels fresh and the pores breathe better.

My husband who owns an oily and acne prone skin type also love this cleanser. He is usually a very fussy person in terms of skincare (thanks to me, huh?!), he is more open in trying new products and now able to tell which one works and which isn't. And on this particular item, we both agree that the cleanser does a very good job in making the skin spick and span with the gentlest touch.

A product for top to toe usage, hair, face, body, all in one. When I read about the details the product seems to be quite strong in terms of function and scents, menthol, citrus, with refreshing and tingling experience, yet in reality, it is so mild and gentle with a slight menthol sensation. I couldn't feel the exact tingling sensation as said. But I do adore the gentleness it brings, the hair and skin (I do not use it as a facial wash) feels so soft and fresh. My husband said that the product is much too mild to him.

It doesn't lather as much as other similar products with sls (duh!) so perhaps he doesn't feel that squeaky clean like our floors are. For me that's a good thing since our skin is NOT the same as the surface we step on daily.

So overall, it is a great top to toe cleanser for those who love the softness and cleanliness without the drying effect. Leave it on the skin or scalp longer and the menthol effect will be more obvious.

As always, the one that become my rabbit is my hubby. He opt for this product since he needs moisturizer that feels fresh on the skin and reduce the oil. He doesn't have an overwhelming oily skin, for me I think he is still in the normal to oily zone.

So, he starts using it immediately after receiving, he cleansed and toned. After his regular serum he puts the moisturizer on. At first, he was happy with the gel like texture. It is light and fresh, on the skin, it felt light too. But after a while, he felt a tingling and then itchy sensation. Then, some redness appears, I guess he is either sensitive to one or some ingredients inside the product or it is just too drying for him.

Sad to say, he wont be able to help me with further review on the product, perhaps it is for those who have a oily to very oily skin type only.

Psst!!Will try to find someone with that really oily skin to help me reviewing this particular item ^__^
