Biotherm Aquasource Rich Cream for Dry Skin

this is one of my utmost favorite brand for skincare, Biotherm. When they decided to leave Indonesia, I was among those who mourn. Yes, they are still available at the airport or I can simply get them when traveling abroad, but it wasn't the same anymore.

They have the best moisturizer.

Their basic range comes in 3 types, normal combination skin, oily and this one is for dry skin. I love their normal combination formula as they come in this gel like texture and smells so fragrant. The one for oily skin is the lightest as it contains the littlest of oil and mostly water with ingredients that help regulate sebum.

And mine, a rich cream for dry skin, comes in a pink colored creamy gel like texture, but a bit richer than the normal type. It has a different scent, more subtle, more delicate and softer too.

It has the ability to keep the skin moist up to 48 hours. Just reading at the details excites me.

You can easily google up about Biotherm or reading it on your own time. It has this wonderful philosophy about thermal water and how it benefit our skin.

The same method that has been used for centuries, many people love to soak into spring waters, spa or natural springs like how the Japanese embrace onsen. With the similar care and focus Biotherm is made using SPA water that contain thermal plankton on their products.

I've seen the effects of Biotherm on those who regularly use their products. Their skin shows a big difference in consistency, dewiness and plump. No matter how old they are, their skin appears moist and firm and yes, younger.

I've used Biotherm many times before and still couldn't find anything like it or equally the same. Each brand has their own 'magic ingredients' and I guess Biotherm fits me best.

I'm using Biotherm whenever possible (when I'm not in the midst of collaborating with other skincare brand), twice a day, day and night. I just need to use like a corn size every single time. Gently massage the cream on the skin and neck. I can use whatever serum I have before the moisturizer and any other eye care or products I have. It really doesn't matter. I often mixed by using another cleanser to clean my skin before, any toner, serum with whatever my skin's concern at the moment and the creams still works it's charm. Making my skin moist and feel so comfortable.

Makeup used afterwards also haven't find any glitch, in fact, the cream made liquid makeup applied afterwards glides on smoother than before. It has the ability to help blending better and the radiance of the skin is just superb.

Do I recommend the  product? For sure YES a million time.

The product comes in a deep blue box, the shade of the blue is similar to the jar. I know that Biotherm no longer available in Indonesia except at the duty free shops in the airports. Still, I love Biotherm, they have wonderful products especially the skincare, but this product is also awesome, the texture is just wonderful.

Creamy at first and subtly fragrant, but after being massage a few minutes, the skin will become so soft and this is the kind of velvety supple softness that I've been dreaming about. It's superb.

I don't feel any stickiness, nor greasy effect, not like conventional lotion that doesn't give any effect, this one made the skin firmer and like this consistency that you dream off. Like a fresh young skin, so firm and soft to the touch...oh like a baby's butt but firmer >.< ... like a mochi.

As good as it goes, this product doesn't 'cure' cellulite, excess fats and just help firming up the skin. So when you're losing weight, exercising and down a few sizes away, you want your skin to 'tag along' as the fat are melting, you don't want your skin to 'melt' as well and sag. You want your skin to get a grip and holds everything tight again, this is the product for you. A firm corrector for your body skin (not for face use).

Highly recommended!!! Use after shower 2 times a day with a little massage to help absorption and firming the skin.

My Biotherm Beauty Class

Hi everyone!!!

Finally, I can blog again, after a month full of mastitis, surgery, and recovery. I will share a post especially for that one where I met a wonderful doctors which help me get through it all.

Now, here's an update of my beauty class with Biotherm which is held last month. Readers and bloggers are welcome to joined.

Biotherm Aquasource for Dry Skin

Biotherm is famous with their moisturizer, the series called Aquasource is just amazing. I've tried the one for normal skin type and this time I have the chance to try on the dry skin type.

Pink in color, a bit milky and creamy.

The scent is a bit different than the normal one, the one that I really love. The normal Aquasource is more to the fresh flowery scent while dry Aquasource is more to the powdery flower scent.

This cream contains Magnesium just like the "old" formula but with the new formula, the hydrating level and sustainability increased. Not just water from the spa, but other source like Mannose.

I'm using it daily now and even thou' the cream feels rich, on the finger touch is so soft and delicate. When the cream touches the skin, it glides smoothly without fail.

It kept my skin hydrated for longer time, and so far I haven't see my skin getting dry, like with other products, usually after 6 hours the cheeks feels a bit tight or dry. With Aquasource for dry skin my skin stays in the comfort zone all day long.

And the best part is there's no 'leftover' like greasy nor oiliness. Some high moisture products gives the skin the worst effect, like oils all over, but Aquasource for dry skin is perfect. It gives my skin high moisturizing effect and the skin able to absorb and taking all those nutrients in.

I love my Aquasource, always have, always will. It's like I can't seem to get over it nor replace the product, they are special, the normal one and now the dry skin type. I used my first Biotherm in 2000. 13 years later, I'm still a big fan, from the wonderful aroma to the sensation on the skin. The beautiful texture and color, irresistible!

And this is the product, please do mind my comical mood ^^ lately I need to express my self more, more than just words, after all an image worth thousands of words. A product this good do need thousands of words ^^

Yes, there are tiny sparkles on the smooth gel, like golden mixed with white gold is crushed and infused. The amazing smell of aquatic resources and a touch from Biotherm scent department. It's like an elixir, an efficacious liquid for youth.

I've been using it for weeks and I'll begin with how smooth and fast it is to penetrate into the skin, leaving the skin a bit glow before completely absorb. There are reaction from the skin, in my case, a positive reaction. Hydration, firmer, dewier, plumper skin with a more even toned complexion within 10 days. And I'm sure this is not yet the climax.

The product is used like other serum, on a cleaned face, after the toner and right before moisturizer. I use it with my Aquasource, a moisturizer from Biotherm family as well. You may use it with other brand and range but best to be used within the series of the same brand.

I've used them before sometime ago and few times I get a complain since my skin is so fair, the review won't be easily applicable to most skin tones. So this time, I ask my sister for the photos instead of me. She is slightly darker than me.

There's her photos, heehee, as seen the cream does look fairer on her. By using the product gradually also helps to build up the skin tone a level by a level, so don't use too much. Those with medium to dark will see a significant fairer skin in an instant, careful thou' it might look unnatural, so spread the bb cream as well to the neck and areas exposed. 

The coverage is light to medium, so don't expect it to made all those scars, acne, dark spots, and other imperfections to be completely gone. A foundation or concealers are still needed, followed by a loose powder.

The cream is light and wonderful to be used, as always Biotherm brings high quality products to the market, however, I wish it comes in a more natural tone or at least a variety of tones so all of us with different skin tones may uses it as it was so wonderful. Perfect for those whose looking for protection, skincare and light coverage, all at once.

Below is me using the bb cream.

The bb cream is definitely oil-free, it felt like liquid powder, giving the skin a matte fair effect. For my skin that often invaded by redness this bb cream is perfect, so the tone will matches my neck. The light coverage also enough for me for my daily look. Add some loose powder and the base is done. It last for 4-6 hours depends on the severity of my activity that day, but overall it's a very good bb cream that gives me sun protection  ☼  , oil free base and light to medium coverage.

I'm using the Firm Corrector right and and has been using the products for a few days now, the 40 ml will run out soon. It's actually the travel size. The texture of the white lotion is rich at first but absorbed quite fast especially when I do the massaging technique shown up there. It's unique alright, instead of normal hand massages using the palm, it uses our claws and fist-like. There's definitely doesn't give the skin a greasy leftover feeling whatsoever, so comfortable all the way, doesn't stain the clothes nor create an oily mark.

The skin become smooth and softer right after usage but for the first 4 application I still didn't see a significant firmer skin. A bit firmer on the feeling but not visible . . . not visible yet perhaps, I don't know. I will give you more review if I manage to try the products for more than 10 days ^^

Biotherm Homme T-Pur (Full Complete Range)

Let's reveal them one by one. Start with Step 1, the first product to be used in the range, of course, the cleanser.


For oily, shiny skin. The first of the new 3-step Radical Anti-Shine Skin Program, T-Pur Cleanser cleanses skin while neutralizing impurities caused by dust, sebum, pollution and sweat. Use on wet surface or while in the shower. Gently rub onto skin for 30 seconds then rub off. Once a week, let cleanser dry on skin for 3 minutes then gently rinse off for a deeply purifying effect.





The white creamy texture is somewhat like a white clay and have bits of particles that perhaps helps by mildly scrubbing the surface of the skin. As seen on the picture the cleanser is quite thick and on the middle picture, it is already mixed with a bit of water and then on the final picture with more water by then they are starting to lather and some bubbles comes up. The scent is manly and I love it! I love if my man smells like this =^__^=

It cleanse the skin like no other, very deeply cleaned and you can feel your skin like breathing again, like those clogged have been moved away. Man will adore this feeling and surprisingly doesn't stripe the skin off and leaving it squeaky, it does the job of cleaning with care. For me this is an easy and simple choice for men out there, let's say from around 20 to above 30 years old where sebum and dirt is part of their daily life.  

Then, after rinsing it off and dry it gently, men out there I know you are macho but rubbing your skin while drying it will cause your skin stress and you look awful with a stressed skin. So take control on your hands and dry your skin with enough strength.

Now, ready for Step 2. The Lotion. Which is the toner.

APPLICATION

The liquid inside is very watery and put it onto a cotton pad and the clear toner with a bursting fresh scent will easily comes out. Pat your skin with the cotton pad. Making sure all the parts got it. The Lotion is beneficial to helps your cleaned skin treated. It helps freshen up and mattefy the skin. There are some alcohol inside which I can't deny, so use it properly and accordingly.

The lotion also helps the skin to be ready for the next step which you can choose between these two method at Step 3. Use it both which the SOS Corrective as a complimentary to the whole set.

Always apply after cleansing with T-Pur Cleanser and Lotion. Following moisturizing with T-Pur Moisturizer, apply a dab of T-Pur SOS Corrective Treatment to the fingers and massage the face or areas to be treated, avoiding the eye area. Finish with application to the neck.

The texture is also a light weight gel and the smell is wonderfully fresh and manly too. It's not overwhelming, it's more to the fresh than woody and musk. And the scent do last for a while :)

The mattefying effect also wonderful and help the skin looks healthier, less problematic and gives my man a more confident look. It is suitable to be used daily. It provide the skin the hydration it need and refrain the oiliness. So it's like fresh almost whole day long and for the next shower time. So perfect for summer time or those who lived in hot and humid places all year long (like us) and it helps the skin to regulate, stays clean longer and less problems since the sebum and sweat are reduced. Those two attracts dirt and germs, and the anti-bacterial action in the ingredients also helps the skin to have less breakouts. Cool isn't it?!

The gel is a delight but have no scent. It absorb on the skin almost instantly and leave nothing on the surface. It is so perfect for those suffering from sebum and excess sweat like no other product I've tried. Well, at least not in the women's world. But My husband also already tries many brands that claimed to hold the sebum and sweat, but none goes as far as Biotherm Homme T-Pur. I even say it is perfect for a groom to use. Remember how those men in weddings, they somehow always sweats and shiny (not in a good way) and you're looking at your wedding pictures and your man look like . . . . is he under a stress or something?

Now the SOS Corrective is an extra help. So use it when you feel you need it. It can also be used for the whole month and see their reaction first, no need to continue if your skin condition already better, better which means less sebum and sweat.

Important to know that these products helps to regulate your skin, not completely stop the production of your sebum and sweat.

These are the two products on my hand.

The left side is the Mattifying Moisturizing Gel and the right is SOS Corrective. As seen, both are a light weight gel, both are super easy to absorb and feels good on the skin. While the Mattifying Moisturizing Gel smells really good the SOS Corrective doesn't have any scent. And I really like the pump bottle of Mattifying Moisturizing Gel, just pressed it and the gel will come out beautifully. Very hygienic and fun to watch at the same time haha!

The tube also hygienic, but there's nothing new, however very handy to be used when you need extra help on your sebum and sweats.

For me the whole package is very effective in giving the result to the skin. Expect a smooth finish and no fuss.

Ladies, if you happen to have a problem with excess sebum and sweats as well, I'm not recommending the whole package for you since man's and woman's skin is different, but you can try the SOS Corrective. It helps the makeup to stays on longer too since there's very less sebum and sweats, perfect for my T-zone, but I'm not using it overall. But hey, Biotherm also carries products form women who want less sebum on their face and works perfectly as well since Biotherm Homme T-Pur is heavy duty, just give it to the men!
