Real Techniques Travel Essential

I hope I'm not too late in reviewing these brushes.

Yes, they are famous, yes many beauty bloggers and make up artist has been raving and recommending using these babies and I'm not here to debate about their reviews, more like, my point of view.

I received mine from redeeming points at Luxola, I guess I kinda forgot, Luxola does gave me points years ago and I didn't use them until last year. Yes, I have these brushes for around a year now heehee. At first, I was to 'sayang' using them as in I treated them like my treasure, and then I kinda think, what are they here for?! To be used, right! Months and months of using them, finally this review is made. I have to be careful as many beauty addicts out there are already saying how good these babies are, and I find them....not really, yikes!

I read their details and I'm filled with expectation, I'm thinking like they are the best in the business and I can't find any other that can be compared to them. Each of their brushes is like the must have tools for makeup application and beats any other brushes, you named them, Sigma, M.A.C, Shu Uemura's and many more, it's like the holy grail of all brushes...and I find them similar in terms of plus minus. Yes, I only have three, but these three are named to be essential and I think 3 does enough in helping me whether to continue collecting the whole collection or stop.

And I think I'd stop, at least for now.

Are they bad? Well no. Comparing to most brushes in the market, they are actually good, but there are better ones and more affordable too.

Let's start from the foundation brush.

The one in orange-yellow-golden colored handle.

The brushes works great with runny liquid foundation, but for those with slightly creamy texture and somet

ime on lights ones too, it leaves strikes on the skin and seems like they are not really creating that super fine base that I want too. In fact, the foundie brush from The Body Shop works better.

I love the lightness of the brushes, the handle are made from aluminum-like (as in I don't really know the material but feels like it in terms of lightness) material and feels light as in airy and help to support a finer touch. But the brushes, hmm, yes, The Body Shop foundie brush works finer on my skin. A cheap Daisho sponge also able to replace this brush >.<

Next is the big pink colored handle with big fluffy-kinda brush for powder makeup. Including loose powder, compact and blush on.

I love this one. I find it works better for my compacts and loose, it is firm enough for that medium coverage yet light enough for loose powder airy and soft finish. I can easily maneuver by the strength of my pressure .

Caron's puff still the winner in terms of applying loose powder thou.

Before I continue, remember my disclosure and these are just my personal experience in using these brushes.

Next, the smallest one on the set, comes in purple handle and made for applying eye shadow or also helps applying contour lines for nose bridge.

This is the best ones so far and I find it rather irreplaceable to any other brushes I have. No need to compare this particular brush to a tacky small thingy you found inside the eye shadow palette, they are the worst >.< (well, not all brands, only a lot of them), this is the brush that you'll need to apply, blend and define those eyes.

You do need a smaller brush for eyeliner, but this one do it's job wonderfully as an eyeshadow brush. I haven't try M.A.C's thou, many says they have the best eye shadow brush. Nevertheless, I'm still raving this one and find no fault whatsoever, why bother changing?!

So there you go, my say on Real Technique Travel Essential, some are just a bit overrated while some do works wonder, still, they are much better than most brushes on the market.

Hello everyone,

months ago I've received a hampers full of goodies from Kay Collection.

Kay Collection itself carries multiple products and brands from Japan and other countries too. Products like Dolly Wink, Vitacreme B12 and many more can be found at their website.

They also providing makeup case, pouch, bag and brushes alongside with other makeup tool.

I love their cosmetic bag since it has a big mirror in it. So I can carry it around during traveling and simply put on my makeup anywhere.

The container is quite sturdy and have pockets plus ample size for everything I need from base makeup to colors. This is of course made for personal use from Masami Shouko.

Inside, my favorite lashes are here. Falsies from Kay Collection somehow always fits nicely and doesn't need trimming, their glue also works really well. Transparent and sticks all day.

The lashes also stays looking gorgeous up to 5-10 usages (just be gentle) and the shape remains as curled as it was first opened from the box. I love their quality and reasonable pricing too. Same goes with their brushes. From the one that shaped like a sponge at the end and makes blending fun to the brushes for the eye shadow

Kay Collection also have Masami Shouko Oil and Sweat Film, a product which is thin like paper and absorb all the oils and sweat when pressed against.

Tangle Teezer Original

Hello everyone,

during the last online shop day where the sales are considerably huge...but later on we found out many problems occur and the sales are not that big >.< I also participate in getting some items in Luxola.

The products that I get have similar discount as in ever before, so it's not very special.

Using the points as well, I managed to redeem some awesome goodies and this is one of it.

Looking at their site where many things are OOS (out of stock or sold out) I think it is best that Luxola has a better system where sold out products is hidden from the viewer site, as in I think there's more 'sold outs' than available. Nevertheless, I'm happy with all my purchases but during delivery, I prefer on Friday while the delivery guy came on Thursday.

For Rp.249.000 in Luxola Indonesia, I'm 99% sure that this item is overrated, overpriced and useless, but still, there's 1% of me that thing about my daughter's everlasting tangle that seems to be winning the battle every single time. Refusing to giving up, Tangle Teezer was actually my last option, before cutting her hair short.

And both of us so glad that I did get this item. It works so well that she thank me wholeheartedly (she loves her long hair), it went on smoothly like nothing ever went wrong. we did find 2-3 tangles but it was nothing compared to before.. Wet or dry hair, this brush always win. It was like, what tangle? We must be daydreaming all these times.

The design itself is pretty simple and cute, like a huge pebble, I choose the shocking pink and purple so she would want to use it, now, all of us can't seem to get over it, all the 9 brushes at home has lost their jobs the day this brush came. Even hubby using it since he said that the points are easing his needs of scratching his scalp nicely -since he never have a tangle. Tangle can not be made with a hair less than 3 cm- (not recommending for scratching the scalp ya, only sharing what happen at my home).

And as for me, a lady who hates brushing, since brushing always made me lose my hair more, when tangled sometime they accidentally get pulled off, and bye bye hair. It is useless using so many hair growth tonic when the hair are 'yanked' on daily basis.

So, Tangle Teezer has also made my day(s) a whole lot better, no more hair being pulled off due to the tangle and I look tidier heehee.

What does it do?

On straight hair, it just removes tangle and the hair will appears so much nicer, tidy and looks like it has been brushed 100 times.

On curly or wavy hair like mine,
it will relaxed the curls/wave. So the strands become individual once again and not tighten to each other. I can just use my finger and curls it again using a twisting movement part by part.

On a very curly hair,
it will gives volume like ... like .... the Jackson 5 in I Want You Back ^O^

Since the hair is not tangled anymore, the shines, the luster and beauty of our hair came back (our = me and my daughter), every time she moves her hair or when her hair is blown by the wind, it was like a shampoo commercial.

And as for me, I looked like I just get back from a hair salon.

Hello lovelies, 

Another You (AYOU) has sent me some of their collections recently, a black box consist of brushes and falsies are her. 

As someone who enjoys using makeup, brushes and falsies are amongst my must have items at home. My collections of brushes and falsies has earn a shelf on their own in my cabinet. I'm not fussy in terms of selecting them, but I do choose the products that are innovative, practical, usable, gentle to the skin and user friendly. AYOU products does meet most of my category in being practical, user friendly, gentle to the skin and usable. One of it's lashes also quite innovative and I find it as a must have as well. 

In term of prices, as seen above, they are budget friendly. 

This is their motto, Beauty is Perfection. 

Here are the brushes, one for eyeliner, one for blending and the biggest one is for blush/powder/bronzer. They are from Armando Caruso. 

And here's the falsies from Bisou collections, the one in 4 pairs.

And in one pair. The one that I find innovative. Look at the shape ^__^ just wait for it, I'll definitely make a look with it. 

The 1 pair has glue in it while the 4 doesn't. Below is the details of the product and their instruction on how to use it. 

Below is my image using the one from the 4 pairs. The lashes are so thin hence putting it on needs effort and precision. A thick one usually easier since they are stiffer. But of course the thin ones always more comfortable and can be more natural. So, it's depends on which look you want to create, subtle or daring.

Of course, I'm trying the brushes too. The eyeliner brush feels medium firm, so it is still soft to be used around the eyes yet firm enough to apply the product. The blending brush is suitable for to blend eyeshadow nicely and the one for the blush/powder/bronzer is nice too. The bristles are soft enough to the touch. I'm using it to apply blush on and the colors spread on nicely.

Hi everyone!

For makeup user, brush is their tool to create that flawless creation or something that helps the imagination comes to life.

And a good quality brush will make the look even better and safe for the skin too. I love brushes from The Body Shop, not just because they are so soft, but made from artificial hairs too without hurting any animal.

This is my newest item and has been using it for a while, the brush according to the BA (Beauty Advisor at the counter) can be use for lotion type of foundation and cream as well. But personally, I like it with a liquid type than a thick cream. A cream would be better with a sponge or finger.

The brush help me to apply the liquid foundation for a more even effect and it help the foundation gets into the narrowest places such as the area at the edges of the nose. But there are still some lines, so I need to gently brushes everything off until they are spread well.

After use the brush will become stiff due to the foundation and I always clean it right after each usage, and for me it's a more hygienic way as well.

Masami Shouko Brushes

Hi all!

Everyone who uses makeup knows that the best way and the easiest way to use makeup is with brushes. Out there in the wilderness got so much brushes in different prices and brands. Which one is good without being too pricey.

Kay Collection kindly given me these brushes and seeing their prices, they are affordable alright, so, let's see their quality ^0^

And on below, let me show you how I use it ^__^ and please do click on any image to see the details in larger view  aka the price heehee.

Large Powder Brush

Large round brush to apply loose or pressed powder perfectly. Also suitable for body. Natural bristles.

The brush is big and very perfect to be used for an all over use. And in case of emergency can also be use for the blush by pressing the brush on the root to make it expand less. The bristles are fine and comfortable to be used. I may say, it surpasses their prices. There are many brushes out there with the similar price yet worst in terms of very harsh stroke and painful to be use.

Masami Shouko Large Powder brush is not one of those low quality brushes. They are gentle. Although' you need to work it for the first use, so the powder will goes in and the bristles can 'catch' the particles and later blend better on the skin surface. The long bristle is very handy and gives better and smoother appearance for the powder, makes it a soft finishing look.

Very useful for the body parts as well, adding dimension or make the skin tone even, or ^^ glitters! This brush is perfect for that tiny glitters as well for all over the body. For hair? Dab a bit to the glitter powder, tap it until so it wont be huge clump of glitters, then gently swipe only on the outer part or your hair. Not on the scalp ya, avoid the scalp at all cause.

Overall, a very handy, affordable brush for your face, body and even hair ^O^

Next is Round Top Brush. The one with the white bristle on top, cute!

Round Top Brush

Round top with short and dense bristles delivers flawless makeup, including under the eyes, and around the nose. Also for a seamless application of products on the cheeks.

The brush a round type where it is pretty dense alright and perfect for a precision look. Under the eyes usually sweats easily and it need more attention since the skin is far more delicate and thin. The brush actually helps the products to 'spread' finer. Same goes with the area on the sides of the nose, where for some people with chubby cheeks (me) it is a bit covered and need a good brush like this one to handle the matter. And it work like wonders. I thought it would be the most useless brush of the bunch and I'm so wrong. All day thanks to Round Top Brush those area that was hidden are covered by the powder better. It doesn't break nor crack.

How does it possible? With normal size brush, it usually doesn't touch that small corner, so there's more leftover and uneven look when the nose is moved sideways. With the Round Top Brush the bristles actually goes in the way I needed too and the area covered evenly and right down to the middle. This product is an inspiration for me and the price is so friendly as well ^0^



Angled Brow Brush

Ideal to fill and define eyebrows for a natural look. Suitable for all types of products.

The Angled Brow Brush is a precised brow, a bit tense and it is use for the brow, creating a more define look and it is so affordable (again, but hey, all of them are affordable with quality). Very easy to be used, you can try the edges or just stroke it after blending it with any eye brows product or even eye shadows.

Small Dome Brush

For a precise application on the crease, inner corner, outer corner, upper and lower lash line. Ideally shaped to create a smokey-eyed look and to smudge pencil liner. Natural bristles.

The small brush is a bit (really just a bit) tense at first and very ticklish to be used on the lower parts of my eyes. I use it to draw my eye liner with colors from eye shadows. It helps a lot for being small but for me it's not 100% precise. It's close to precise, thou. The good news is it can be used with eye shadows product, gel eyeliner, and help smudging the pencils too. And you kinda need a bit tense bristles like this one to help smudging the pencils. So in a way, it work!

I'm Cleaning My Makeup Brush - Tips Included & How's To

Today I decided to clean my brush, which means it's something I'm not routinely do (I know I should), but since I really love this brush I just don't want to ruin it. Numerous times with my previous brushes I made them rough and I need them soft. This brush from The Body Shop is one of my favorite and I want to treat it well, and this is some of my tips to keep it in tip top shape and condition.

Using the cleanser products at my home, means I'm not using any brush cleanser that commercially existed. So, pretty much is the stuff you can easily find anywhere.

I've tried using baby's shampoo as many other recommend but during the cleansing process (warm water mixed with baby's shampoo) there's a lot of gunk stick at the brush and it can not dissolve in the water since perhaps I use a lot of base, foundation, powder, and 2 way cake collide together in the brush.

Using a dishwasher liquid will help the gunk to be removed but based on experience it will dry out my brush, leaving it worst than a bad hair day.

It's just doesn't work. So I'm thinking I should just try using makeup remover and the first thing come in my mind is a cleansing oil.

I pump 2-3 times and mixed it with warm water. Oh yes, I do use a small cup and mix it all up with my brush. Gently stir everything up. Careful! Wet brush are so easy to took off and never pull them nor soak the brush all the way till the root. The glue wont last.

For the cleansing oil, I use my Skin Inc Trinity Cleansing Oil. And I was right, the oils dissolves all the gunk out of my brush and my brush still feels soft.  But now there's a oily feeling left on the brush. I use my facial foam.

Pump the foam and the small particles of the foam was able to go inside the brushes, splendid! No more oily feeling and the brush still soft since I'm using a product for facial use. But still, before the final rinse I use the baby's soap to help me clean up everything behind. I keep using warm water all the way until the end. And keep changing the water all throughout the cleansing process, each product took around 2-3 rinsing process.

Each cleansing product that I used manage to clean different particles and makeup residue. So, for me one brush need more that one cleanser, since I use my brush for almost everything in the base.

Then, just place the brush on a paper towel and I'm not placing mine in a direct extreme sunlight, more like the sun from my window. Keep changing the paper towel when it's wet helps the part that's below to be dried faster. For me this position is the best one to dry the brush, standing up/upside down will make the brush messy and sometime just ruin it.

Keep rolling the position occasionally, so your brush wont slanted.

Again, be gentle and be patient, don't clean your brush on the day you want to use it, it takes hours for the brush to be completely dry, hair drier might help but never overheat.







Last but not least, clean their home too. Using a normal anti bacterial wipes and swipe everything off, simple yet necessary.
