Prada Candy Florale

Hello lovelies,

Ohh, I'm so into Prada lately, their perfume that is.

They have this new series called Prada Candy, they are colorful, pretty and comes in 5 aroma. Prada Candy EDP, Prada Candy Florale (reviewed in this post), Prada Candy Kiss, Prada Candy Gloss, and Prada Candy Sugar Pop.

And I happen to have some heehee, for me even thou' they carry the same Prada Candy, they have different personalities one to another, and collectibles.

-*-

Let's discuss Florale, shall we?!
Prada’s latest fragrance evolved from the concept of an imaginary flower created especially for Candy. Of course, Candy cannot simply have any flower. Her fantasy flower must be unique, embodying her many facets: the fragrance’s light airiness puts the sparkle in her, followed by tender powdery notes that echo her Spring-like grace. A final whisper of warmth and honey reflects Candy’s rich sensuality.

Do opened their website and explore the world of Candy, a girl who goes on a quest to out of space to find that special flower.

-*-

Look at the box, it looks so girly right?! The flowery scent will definitely be something that girls love.
That flower is the white petals with black center we see on the soft pink box, it's the 'special' flower.

-*-

The container itself is fun and definitely gorgeous, need that black thingy to hold them together when carrying it during traveling. So I think, I will put it at home, I remember my last Valentina by Valentino that broke since I always carry everything inside my bag, so it's kinda like Doraemon.

The bottle would not be able to survive on certain level of weight. So do be careful.

As you can see from the image above, the stopper is on the top of the white cap. So it's pretty fragile if it's not securely put when inside a luggage.

-*-

The sprayer works just nice and sprayed an enough amount of perfume each use. It was pleasant, aromatic, lovely, beautiful, calming and fresh at the same time. I feel feminine using the Eau de Toilette, it was so good, somehow it reminds me of a jasmine tea, I don't know why, there's not even a jasmine here.

It was limoncello sorbet (top), flower of peony (heart), with benzoin, musk, caramel and honey (as a base).

What is benzoin?
Benzoin is a balsamic resin extracted from several types of stryax tree. It is often used in perfume not only for its smell but also as a fixative to increase stability and longevity. It is also widely used in the creation of incense.

Other details which I find on Sephora:

Candy declares her love for flowers. She takes on a new flirtatious game, where sensuality is pushed to the fullest. The delicately sweet smell of Candy meets a new, refined bouquet of sparkling cedrat and blooming cosmos that intermingle with her elegant softness. Candy is blossoming.

Notes:
Sparkling Cedrat, Bouquet Of Cosmos, Benzoin, Caramel, White Musk.
Style:
Sensuous. Coquettish.

-*-

So there you go, perhaps it was a cedrat (citrus) and bouquet of cosmos which got me interested with the perfume. And the interest become even more after it settles to the middle and base note. They all smells so good and amazing, like there's no loop hole of something that will put me off. From the top to bottom is all pleasantly wonderful and stays true to it's feminine and chic components.

Since it was EDT they'll last for 3 hours max, but I love how it settles on me as it was so sublimely gorgeous even more than those mere hours.

Easily spray it on again to freshen up. Love, love, love.

Gucci Bloom Eau De Parfum

Hello lovelies,

it's been a while I've reviewed a fragrance. Let's face it, nowadays perfume is no longer own by brands, but locals too, and to those organic nature thingy with pure essential oils company. I love perfume, I think it's always a must having one or two (or in my case, all iconic brand) of your favorite scent on each seasons and occasion.

Perfume is something that seals us in, and it's like our outer wear.

What makes a perfume special is the ingredients, brilliant concoction, and quality of each scent. A genius perfumer will make a perfume that have a perfect synergy and flow between each notes, so when the perfume is used on a long term, it creates a balance and harmony with one's natural scent. So yes, one perfume can smell a bit (to a lot) different from another.

For me personally, floral to fruity notes is always a favorite, like it's aromatically airy and easy to be used. Woody is a bit difficult and I never like oriental, so that's why, Gucci Bloom is like a natural thing for me and like a simple choice to be made.

Debuting the first fragrance developed wholly under Alessandro Michele’s creative vision: a scent designed to celebrate the authenticity, vitality and diversity of women—flourishing in a natural, expressive and individual way. Blended by master perfumer Alberto Morillas under the direction of the House’s Creative Director, Gucci Bloom is created to unfold like its name, capturing the rich scent of a thriving garden filled with an abundance of flowers. Tuberose and jasmine combine with Rangoon Creeper—a unique flower discovered in South India that is being used for the first time in perfumery to create a rich fragrance that transports the wearer to an imaginary garden. The scent is presented in a lacquered bottle, reminiscent of porcelain, in a vintage powder pink shade with a Gucci label appliqué. #InBloom
  • Natural tuberose harvested from India
  • Jasmine bud extract, obtained through an exclusive method of co-extraction to impart a fresh green and petal scent on the skin
  • Rangoon Creeper, embodying the fragrance’s concept and name, the slightly powdery floral scent is captured as the flower blooms from white and gradually darkens to pink, then red
-*-

I bought the one in 50 ml, and they have one in 100 ml and 150 ml too. Price wise it is always cheaper purchasing the 150 ml but since I haven't tried their tester, I think I want to play it safe and bought the 50 ml.

There's Tiffany on the market too, with others that celebrate Spring, but somehow, I lured into Gucci Bloom since oh just look at the advertisement.

It speaks for itself and I'm not the kind of person that loves print ad especially perfume since it can be misleading (well a lot of) and even the TVC too, like come on, people climbing up stairs, or exploitation of women, that doesn't describe anything, while this, oh THIS, it said it all.

-*-

Dakota is clearly there, her expression, her outfit, the lady beside her and all the spring flowers surrounding them, and the perfume smell just like everything I've seen in their ad. It's exactly as it is. And I love every bits of it.

There's a slight warmth, jasmine is really noticeable and loving it to the max, and the hint of powdery scent which made the perfume not so sweet but beautiful. It's so gorgeous and understandable, it's completely a scent that I can understand and it doesn't have that spiky weirdness that a lot of perfume have if they want to attract the young.

Overall, a great spring floral perfume that last a really long time (thanks to the EDP formula and concoction), flowery but not girly, come on, like those girls on the ad look girly, they look content, rich and smart.

It's the perfume that I think, a must have for just about everyone ehm ladies

LUX Kju Missy Breezy Green Tea Fragrance Shower gel

Hello lovelies,

LUX from Unilever China launch this super cute product in one, it's a shower gel and solid perfume in one. It's a solution for those who wants their scent to last. Remember how we always told to layer the scent to make it goes deeper and of course in the end, they'll last longer? This is the same principal, and using the same scent to shower and then all day long with the perfume balm, we can.

-*-

The product comes in a box consist of a bottler with perfume balm as a lid that can be opened and inside there's a pump too, so this could be a two item separately.

The packaging is light green and the scent of this variant is green tea, so they do have other scent like rose.

The green tea reminds me a lot of Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea.

-*-

Look at the image below, just twist the cap (perfume balm) open, and put in the pump, it become like any shower gel with pump. And then carry the perfume balm anywhere we please and use it accordingly, simply use the finger and swipe the balm, rub it on the skin directly. Some may suggest to rub it on warm places near the blood circulation while some say to keep it on a cool place so the scent last longer, for me, I use them on places where I can smell them all the time, like on my under my ears and the back of my hands. So I guess, whatever works for you.

-*-

The shower gel is thick and lathers well, if it doesn't probably the skin is too dirty, re washed and experience the light bubbles with a soft green tea scent. I thought the scent would be strong but it's not, it's pretty delicate. The clean feeling is refreshing and nice, doesn't make my skin feels dry nor taut. The perfumed shower gel can be used daily or on special occasion. For me, the scent is more suitable as a daily scent, it's green floral and refreshing, it helps boost the mood when we're dull.

-*-

The texture of the balm is like any other balm out there, it's like petroleum jelly, so when used too much it will be hard to take by the skin and looks greasy, so use just enough per area. The scent last around a few hours and I can simply rub some more anytime I need the scent to linger on me. For sure, the perfume balm aroma last longer than the shower gel. It's pretty comfortable as the balm is pretty small and I can carry it everywhere.

-*-

This duo is a revolution, I'm happy to see how they create this fresh idea, I hope more and more companies develop creativity that would make daily life and chores (showering is a chore for sure) to be more fun, more exciting, and convenient.

-*-

The price is around Rp.150.000 (got mine from China), shower gel and a perfume balm in one, it's a pretty good deal.

Rance 1795 Elise

Hello lovelies,

this is perhaps one of the most expensive perfume I bought for myself. Rance 1795 is a brand from France and the family is well known back to Napoleon. It has a long rich history that got me into reading about them more. It is a family business which grew in legacy and exclusivity in regards of the value they hold.

They have several iconic collection, and Elise is one of them.

-*-

The packaging is simple yet so gorgeous. Just look at them, the box that opens by lifting it up and the clear bottle containing Eau de Parfum with blue and pink ribbons.

I was told in Changi Airport (where I bought the perfume for SGD198) that it wasn't sold just about anywhere, so the perfume itself is rather unique and worth collecting. I spend quite a time picking which to choose, and I bought Elise since it have something that I find endearing and connecting to my memory, there's depth in each of the perfume, but this one is definitely my first option.

-*-

Napoleon's younger sister Élise dared to defy him by going against his will and marrying the handsome Captain Baciocchi. As the Emperor loved her dearly, however, he soon forgave her, and while she was still very young she was given the title of Grand-duchess of Tuscany.
She lived an intense social life with frequent and long visits to Paris, where her radiant youth made her a star of the Imperial Court.
In 1809, Jean Rancé dedicated her a perfume with her name.

Today, Jeanne Sandra Rancé proposes the new fragrance Élise with a contemporary flavour: fresh and young, romantic and sensual. Cheerful and lively like Élise, characterised by the bracing touch of marine notes and Sicilian Mandarin, and the gentle, voluptuous and intensely feminine Neroli and Rose of Grasse. Bourbon Vanilla and Amber create an atmosphere of seduction, while romantic and passionate Patchouly and Musk add a touch of sensuality.
Head notes:    Neroli, Mandarin, Marine notes
Heart notes:   White Rose of Grasse, Eucalyptus
    Base notes:    Amber, Vanilla, Patchouli
Olfactory Description:                Fresh - Young - Romantic: Citrus Flowers, Rose, Amber and Vanilla

The story behind the perfume itself is fascinating isn't it?! And did you notice one of the heart notes that says eucalyptus? It's like another distinct feature of the perfume.

-*-

The perfume reminds me of oceans for some reasons yet it is not as heavy as other 'sea-themed' scents, it was in fact light, so fresh and the floral are brightly added with a touch of white rose, vanilla and mandarin together somehow so dreamy and energetic at the same time. I can see the vibrant and vitality of a person embodied to a perfume inspired by her, it is spectacular and fun at the same time. Like I'm imagining someone wearing a white gown with a floral design during that time yet being so passionate, alive and live freely against her time.
Like a garden of wild flowers by the sea, untamed, untouched, self-ruling and happy.

The scent last on me for days when sprayed on the clothes. It was magical and I treated it like my most prized procession.

Patchouli itself is one of the most popular ingredients loved by French, I've noticed that many of their 'hit' perfume have it as the base. Elise itself is non-parallel, it have patchouli but the concoction and mixture of other ingredients made the perfume special.

-*-

If I have to describe the perfume in two words, I would like to say romantic and adventure.

Mon Guerlain EDP

Hello gorgeous,

a few weeks ago, I went to a lovely event that celebrate the new fragrance from Guerlain.

As always, as much as they dedication to each product, every little details are well though off and they want everyone to know and experience not just the scent but the journey.

-*-

Mon Guerlain, the House's new fragrance, is a tribute to today’s femininity -
a strong, free and sensual femininity, as inspired by Angelina Jolie.

My invisible tattoo, my fragrance, Mon Guerlain.
The fresh oriental fragrance enhances exceptional raw materials: Carla Lavender from Provence, Sambac Jasmine from India, Album Sandalwood from Australia and Vanilla Tahitensis from Papua New Guinea. Mon Guerlain expresses the quintessence of a story replete with experiences, nourished by success, expertise and generosity, all infused with the same passion since 1828 by the Guerlain perfumer.

Your fragrance Mon Guerlain in its “quadrilobe” bottle : created in 1908, the bottle established itself as one of Guerlain’s iconic bottles. Simple and graphic, it echoes an alchemist’s bottle and owes its name to its stopper, which is crafted from one piece to obtain a shape resembling four lobes. A century later, beautifully enhanced by a luxurious glass weight and a golden adornment, this bottle offers a contrast between strong taut lines and sensual curves, expressing contemporary femininity.

-*-

The scent

Carla Lavender, an exceptional variety grown in Provence, contrasts with the sensual and enveloping Vanilla Tahitensis by infusing it with audacity and freshness. Sambac Jasmine, gathered at sunrise, gives the Mon Guerlain fragrance all its finesse. Album Sandalwood gives strength to Guerlain's new fragrance and preserves its mystery.

Ingredients

Carla Lavender, Sambac Jasmine, Album Sandalwood, Vanilla Tahitensis

Perfumer secrets

For five generations, the Guerlain perfumer has explored the planet in search of precious raw materials. Behind all Guerlain creations, there are amazing people who cultivate, extract and distill. The emotions shared and experienced – from the field to the laboratory – become the notes of our new women's perfume Mon Guerlain, a concentration of real human relationships and authentic know-how.

-*-

The shape of the bottle, the stopper.

This quadrilobe bottle was dreamt up by Gabriel Guerlain and crafted by Baccarat in 1908. It is the showcase of legendary fragrances. Year after year, it has earned its position as one of the iconic bottles of Guerlain, inspiring numerous artists and designers who reinterpret it with each of their creations.

Understated, simple and graphic, it recalls an alchemist's bottle and owes its name of "quadrilobe" to its stopper, which is formed from a solid piece to obtain a shape resembling four lobes.

Today, it encases Mon Guerlain, the new fragrance that pays homage to contemporary feminity by uniting the contrast expressed bu the strength of taut lines and the sensuality of curves, evoking a strong, free and sensual femininity.

-*-

For me, perfume is something that speaks personally. It has the ability to create a persona about someone, embodied, or fulfilling ones as an extension of their aura.

Let's start from the beautiful bottle.

As mentioned above, the shape that is unique, from the top all the way to the bottom. It looks exclusive, feminine, but have strength at the same time. Clear with golden rings never look so good with the soft pink transparent liquid inside. I felt the dynamical side of the perfume, it's current but in the same time it made history last.

-*-

Sprayed the Eau de Parfum directly to the skin where it made a great collaboration with myself.

There's a lot of theory lately on how and where to spray a perfume, is it on the skin or on to the clothing, for me it's personal options. Using a perfume on the skin directly means intensifying, as the body permeate heats, the perfume will work on that and you'll become one, like a walking diffuser that made everything surrounds you feel the aroma. But as we know, heat made the aroma evaporate faster then when sprayed on cool material like clothing. So again, it's personal, as for me, I prefer spraying them lightly on my skin after shower and on the clothing during touch ups.

As the perfume is EDP, it last around 4-6 hours.

-*-

At first spray, it gives an uplifting strong floral aroma. Notes for someone who is strong and vulnerable at the same time. It lingers, between each ingredients. Carla Lavender, Vanilla, Sambac Jasmine, Birch Essence and Leather where Guerlain made some personal journeys to those who presented the raw ingredients. Know and learn how they are grown or extracted. This perfume, with its rich history, has become a blend that developed in harmony. I feel my self being more and more comfortable with the scent, it's somehow encouraging me to stay up front, to face difficulties in life with grace and still being passionate enough to go though the emotions. Scent has never been 'just' a scent for me, it's an extension of my being.

Life is indeed a journey, something we're going up sometime we're going down, when I want to held my head up and become free with myself, this is a perfume I want to be with, a scent that embrace confident, triumph, deep thoughts and freedom to be a woman that believe in  oneself.

-*-

Thank you Guerlain.

Anna Sui Romantica Exotica

Hello lovelies,

A few weeks ago I went into a special event by Ann Sui. They just launched a new fragrance from the Romantica series with a dash of fruity and exotics ends, it is Romantica Exotica.

-*-

Arrays of 'ingredients' are placed on the table that represent the top, middle and base note of the perfume.

The top are: Juicy lemon, blood orange, blackcurrant bud.
Heart: Jasmin Sambac, lotus petals water, orange blossom.
Dry: Tropical gardenia, cottonwood, sandalwood.
With the Romantica fragrance from September 2015, Anna Sui painted a romantic and cheerful display of a garden in full bloom. The new edition Romantica Exotica has the American-Chinese designer evoking a tropical island full of exotic fruits and her dream of romance, freedom and happiness. The new fragrance comes out in summer of 2016, inspired by her holiday in Tahiti.
The composition is created by perfumer Jerome Epinette from Robertet. Fresh top notes of lemon, grapefruit and blackcurrant give an exotic fruit impression. The floral heart develops with jasmine, lotus and neroli. Sandalwood, gardenia and cottonwood remain in the base.
The bottle decorated with gold ornaments of roses and dragonflies with the stopper in the form of buds is now turquoise. The fragrance is available as a 30, 50 and 75 ml Eau de Toilette.

-*-

The ideas, the experience are explicitly described for every guests on the event. Anna Sui team in Indonesia are sharing every little details for the guests to have fun, there's even dance, but then everything has to be stopped since the event is outdoor at the garden and it's raining heavily.

-*-

Still, the rain wont be able to reduce the joy and happiness brought by the perfume. I was really sick that day but the Polynesian flowers aroma are just too irresistible. It has an intoxicating exotic smells.

Before going any further with the scent, let's starts with the design.

The Box
Romantica Exotica box is transporting us to a world of blossoms, palm trees, and tropical birds caught in the swirl of an exotic jungle. With turquoise borders, and a soft, subtle light at the center, you are drawn into the intense blue sky and colorful vegetation.

The Bottle.
Romantica Exotica bottle is distinguished by its turquoise gradient color on the glass and its gold deco. The cap is metallic in a gold antique finish to emphasize the romance. The blue color of the juice reminds us of the ocean color and all the beauties endless summer has to offer. A rare combination of Art Nouveau, and densely packed flowers that suggest an energy, a radiance about to happen. The pure joy all exotic flowers instill.

The Fragrance
Relax on the warm sandy beaches of paradise as the glistening sun shines through the palms. The tropical freshness of citrus fruits mingles with gorgeous exotic flowers as you relish the salty mist of the clear blue ocean. Rich woods linger for an everlasting memory of romance and happiness.

-*-

Here's how Anna Sui describe Romantica Exotica.

"Like most people, my initial fantasies of Tahiti were inspired by Hollywood movies. for me though, I also had a personal connection. A branch of my Father's family lived in Papette, where they opened stores. As a child looked forward to yearly Christmas gift boxes from Tahiti, so my vision of an exotic Polynesia was already developed before I left on summer vacation with my family.

Of course the reality, of being there surpassed any preconceived expectations. The entire culture is singularly concerned with Nature: the clarity of the water, the color of the sand and sky, the flowers, the landscapes. All inspiring and their connection to nature was my inspiration for Romantica Exotica."

I happen to follow Anna Sui on instagram, and she does posts about her trips. It is amazing how her trips inspires her in getting new ideas for the products. I guess it's true, traveling brings more than what it takes. New experience, meeting new people and that sense of adventure.

-*-

Romantica Exotica does transport me into an Island, a dreamy island where lush and beautiful white flowers are blooming everywhere. A magical elixir of an endless sunshine and summer happiness, effervescence to floral world with exotic energy. Fresh, aromatic tropical flowers of a beach life.

The scent lingers on me for around 4 hours.

-*-

The 30 ml EDT is IDR 600,000
75 ml EDT is IDR 1,055,000

Sold at any Anna Sui counters.

Thank you Anna Sui Indonesia.
