YSL Beauty Couture Kajal Eye Pencil

Yves Saint Laurent Beauty recently launches their version of Kajal. It's been a trend this year, many brands launches kajal as one of their collection. The color is highly pigmented but many complains on the smudge side. Does YSL Beauty Couture Kajal Eye Pencil have any differences? Let's see,

Ultra pigmented eye pencil. Use as a 3 in 1 eyeliner, kohl and smokey eyeshadow for 12 hour wear. The product comes in a unique kajal shape, inside a golden box, signature sign of YSL Beauty. The cap also comes in golden tone.

The tip is sharp enough for the eye lines but not super sharp for a fine thin line.

As seen below, with a soft glide (with almost no pressure) it produces the darkest black line instantly. Perfect as an eyeliner for that deep intense black color. Beside black, the product also comes in deep blue, blue cobalt and deep gray. Mine is, of course, the black.

And with fingers only, the line smudge instantly. So if you're looking for a smudge proof product, this is definitely not it.

I love the depth of the intense black color and it looks great on the waterline and as an eyeliner too, very easy to be smudge and used as an eye shadow, in fact, I think it is best as an eye shadow. It stays for hours as an eye shadow.

Does this product really doesn't last? It depends. If you don't have a greasy eyelids (like mine) and doesn't lift in a location where humidity as it best (like where I am), it would probably stay up to 12 hours like mentioned on the description and you'll be enjoying the black intensity every single day without worrying the smudges.

Still, I'm using my Couture Kajal Eye Pencil since it gives the blackest line plus it feel so smooth on the eyes. It's like a soft crayon, very gentle and dries almost instantly compared to water eyeliner.

They do smudge when touched and swipe, but doesn't really bleed. It is a unique product that feels so comfortable on the eyes.

When they become a mess, just use a cotton bud and they are cleaned, unlike waterproof eyeliner that once smudge, the smudges also sets. It drives me nuts to clean the smudges from a waterproof product, but since Couture Kajal Eye Pencil is not waterproof, cleaning it's mess also easy, or cleaning them thoroughly and perfect for those with sensitive eyes.

When waterproof product doesn't cleaned properly, the eyes area will eventually become irritated, wondering why you are getting a pinkeye 2-3 days after using makeup? That's why.

The product comes in a box, inside there's the tube, with all the details regarding the product, ingredients, instruction and suggestions too.

CC Cream is made as a color corrector, not actually a 'brand new' in cosmetic world. In fact these kind of corrector has been known as base, color base where there's beige, purple, green, yellow, white, blue, and pink like this rosy one. Each help enhancing a different skin tone and needs. Those who are prone to redness should avoid using the pink one and get the green one to neutralize the pink hue.

Lavender is best for those who have dark skin as it made the skin appears brighter. Blue for those with yellow skin tone to appear fairer, yellow for beige skin tone, pink for fair skin so they'll appear rosier and not pale, and so on.

YSL Beauty only enhance on three major needs, perhaps they have don't market research and found Apricot, Lavender and Rose as the three 'famous base' used all over the world.

The texture is creamy fluid that blends easily on the skin and instantly gives my skin that light rosy glow. I thought I didn't need any 'pink' effect but it turns out to be pretty and does made my skin look more friendly (not cold like icy porcelain).

The finish becomes more natural, the skin gets the difference of using the CC Creme or without. I also enjoy the benefit of SPF 35 PA +++ that is perfect for daily sun protection.

Add a simple loose powder for a matte finish or leave it as it is.

Add concealer and liquid foundation afterwards for events or special occasion. It can go anywhere you please, from dewy, natural, matte, velvety to even powdery with the help of other products. I must say, YSL Beauty products are best to be used with their own collection (so does most makeup in the market).

The CC Creme itself feels so light on the skin. Adding BB Cream and/or foundation wont be a problem and it still feels light (I'm using everything from YSL Beauty).

Since CC Creme is used after the skincare routine is done, it is more like a base that helps makeup and skincare become coherent and sticks better on the skin too without looking cakey or unnatural. The hint of color did just right and enough.

On the image above, I'm pairing it with Fusion Ink Foundation.

Below are the images of using the CC Creme alone.

The pores become less visible, there's a light rosy hue on the overall skin complexion, it helps blurs the lights during photo so the skin appear smoother, softer and more attractive.

I can use it with fingers, brush, or sponge, there's really nothing to it but simplicity.

Mine comes in 100 ml size in BD 20 (Warm Ivory). One of the best feature about the product is that it comes in shades you didn't know existed and in precision. Imagine one ivory tone that comes in warm, cool and ivory. The shades number are the same, but with hints of the base color for that exact tone. We are unique, fair people have different tones, so does those in mediums, olive and so on.

The liquid looks and feels velvety. It was made for comfort. No need using a brush, sponge, or anything, just your finger.

use the foundation on top of a cleaned skin after skincare routine so the skin is prepared and ready for makeup. Apply a base/primer if needed or directly using Fusion Ink Foundation.

The formula is light, blended on the skin like it was a very good skincare, I didn't feel anything covering, in fact, it's liberating. It's time to throw away all those heavy duty cement like foundations and start a new day with Fusion Ink Foundation.

Feels like the gentlest touch with a finish that velvety, soft and very comfortable on the skin. The formula is flexible, covering and yet literally like second skin. Like using no makeup but get the enhancements from makeup.

The skin looks flawless, poreless, soft to the touch, like a much better version.

The aroma is fragrant (signature of YSL Beauty), last all day long without being cakey nor noodling, no need piling up with powders, especially compact powders since it's semi matte finish.

I can use it alone or add a cc cream before the foundation for a hint or rosy glow (using YSL CC Cream in Rose).

Go for a natural look with just using the Foundation or a much more flawless finish using a base, primer, concealer and loose powder if needed, and that's pretty much a maximum coverage.

The SPF 18 is light, do add a higher sun protection product accordingly for a day under the sun.

Above is the before and after of using the YSL Fusion Ink Foundation. I'm still in my own skin, only appears flawless, no large pores visible, less wrinkle and hide all fine lines. The skin looks even without any discoloration, I find at ease using it daily and looks effortlessly fabulous every single day.

Everything is similar to it's original collection, just that cute lipstick mark printed on the packaging.

The golds are irresistible, there's nothing passable with YSL collection, even the details of the container and material looks exclusive.

On the box, the ingredients are written clearly and not too small, so you don't need a magnifying glass to read the fine prints.

As usual, each shades comes with slightly different ingredients, especially on the colorant parts.

And here's the lipstick, the one that covered with lip marks all over.

They look so cute, right?! Small things like this that made stuff become collectible items.

And the color? As usual, bright, bold, vivid, rich and empowering. This is a color that help define someone who uses it.

The texture is so smooth, velvety and luxurious, doesn't give the lips a dry spell and doesn't bleed nor feel oily and uncomfortable. It is pure privilege.

The product is just adorable, it is like a cream being fluffed so much and become this mousse texture. So light and easy to be used. It blends on the skin beautifully and easy to be layered as well.

The formula is kind to the skin, it is after all an infused makeup with skincare ingredients inside. This is the differences between mass produce makeups to high ends, they may come in higher price but they do put wonderful beneficial stuffs inside their products.

From naturally blushed or hint of shades on the lips to a bolder color, layered them for a more intense finish.

Corail Affranchi is perfect for that gentle makeup do, it made my skin look even fairer.

Or I can double them and use more on my lips for a more covered lips.

The ingredients made my lips looks so soft and delicate. It covers the lines and dryness, the more I'm using it the better the lips are. Now I want to try more of their colors since they look so good.

Overall, a creamy formula that blends beautifully on the lips and cheeks to create that perfect hint of blush or a deeper color when layered and applied more.

The product gave everything it touches a softer and smoother feeling with a light moisturizing effect that feels just enough. The product has a medium stay power when used on the cheeks as blushes and still transfer when used on the lips with a light staying power. But when used doubled layers, the product can last longer on the lips, giving that hint of stain.

YSL Google Glass Experience

Hello everyone,

Yves Saint Laurent Beaute has just share one of the most unique experience in the makeup industry, using a Google Glass to help customer understand and see plus learn how to do a makeup like a professional makeup artist.

Through the Google Glass, the process of a makeup application will be recorded and then shared with them through email. By watching the detailed process, we can later re create the makeup and technique used.

The event itself in Indonesia is held at Pondok Indah Mall 2. Located at the atrium near the SOGO, VIP customers and media gets a chance to see the whole process.

First, as usual, they share the audience arrays of products from YSL Beaute in the museum.

From the famous lipsticks, touche eclat, to their latest foundation are all here.

It's a world of uncompromising beauty with our own rule.

I also get to try the Google Glass during the event, it was a futuristic moment for me. The Google Glass itself feels like a normal glass, with a bit of weight on the right side where the camera is.

Soon, the event began with Ms. Sylvia Yohana welcoming all the guests.

The event is held from 25-31st of May 2015. During the weekend, which is 29-31st of May 2015, Francis Lim, a national makeup artist for Global YSL Beaute is there. Since the media are invited on the 29th, we get to meet him and see him doing a live makeup demo.

After getting ready and gets a seat, Francis Lim started his art works on a model.

It was pretty fast and here are the models after the makeup do.

She is using the new product which is Fusion Ink Foundation that gives the skin a semi matte finish. It is light but gives ample coverage on her skin. No powder is applied so we can see how the foundation stays on its place without the need of powders.
