Dewi Sri Spa Surya Majapahit

Around a week ago, I received a package from Dewi Sri Spa, they are announcing their new collection that helps the skin against the UV rays from the sun.

The package comes in a pretty box rich in cultural heritage, this is after all, Surya Majapahit.

Inside, there's three products from the serie, a greeting and informational card.

These are, sun protection or sunblock, shower cooling gel, and an after sun soothing body gel.

When used all three, it is started with the sun protection lotion before being exposed to the sun (around 15 minutes) and then cleaned everything up after finish playing under the sun with a shower cooling gel, and after shower apply the soothing body gel especially on the area where the sun 'burns'. Of course the sun 'burns' has been minimized drastically if you use the sun protection lotion.

Now, let's read more details from the website and my personal opinion, shall we?!

To test the product, I actually went to the beach and do sun bathe. The first item that I'm using is of course the sun protection. A creamy lotion that feels comfortable on the skin but still a bit sticky. It wont last long if I sweat a lot and playing with sea water plus sand. So I kept adding more after a dip.

The thing is, this is more like a city sunscreen, a product to be used in the city, for daily lifestyle and not for a hard core activity. But, if you insist on taking it to the mountain during a hike, swimming at the beach or the outdoor pool, do reapply as often as possible and you wont get any sunburn nor tan.

And if you do, get a shower with the cooling shower gel from Surya Majapahit as it gives the cool menthol feeling. A cold one if you left it too long on your skin as the menthol kept on multiplying.

The shower gel comes in a clear light gel that lathers easily and instantly. It cleans the surface of the skin and also sweats, dirt, sunscreens.

The scent of the product is similar one to another, the body soothing gel is the most fragrant of them all, as in the level of intensity. The soothing body gel also comes in a gel, a thick clear gel.

Sun Protection Lotion

Mengandung SPF 40 yang berfungsi untuk melindungi kulit dari pengaruh buruk sinar matahari UV A & UV B yang dapat menimbulkan noda hitam, kulit terbakar, dan tanda-tanda penuaan dini. Kandungan minyak padi dan ekstrak teratai di dalamnya berfungsi melembabkan dan mencerahkan kulit.

After Sun Cooling Shower Gel

Berfungsi untuk membersihkan kulit setelah terpapar sinar matahari. Dilengkapi dengan kandungan Menthol yang efektif untuk meredakan sensasi panas akibat sengatan matahari.

The cooling shower gel is not suitable for the skin that sunburn badly as the menthol can be very uncomfortable for the aching skin. So perhaps apply an aloe vera first to soothe the skin. When the condition is mild, try using the soothing body gel.

Perhaps, again, these products are made for a city lifestyle as in not for the whole day under the sun and do sunbathing with the scorching hot sun, this is more like a mild remedies for daily routine away from the beaches or mountain where the rays are high.

Soothing Body Gel

Overall, 

These three are products are made as an everyday products for everyday lifestyle. Comes in a simple packaging with Surya Majapahit as their title. The name itself comes from Indonesian legacy of Majapahit era.

These three items may be used together or only the product needed. What I like about them is the light texture and citrus scent. The lotion feel so delicate on the skin and watery. One thing that I dislike is the fact they are still using paraben (stated in the ingredients list).

Apart from that, the lotion absorb easily on the skin, the fresh herbal scent keep on lingering for around 30 minutes. When first applied they feel cool on the skin and then slightly warmer. After a quick 3 seconds massage the lotion left nothing behind on the skin. No greasy nor oily residue behind (another good points for that).

I've been using them for couple of weeks now, except the Bust Firming since I'm still breast feeding and the team from Dewi Sri Spa doesn't recommend me to use it when I still do. So a deeper review for the Bust Firming could not be done by me, but with the help of my family.

Let's digest them one by one,

the Tummy Firming Cream, after applied, it gives the skin a tightening effect, well, all three of them do, I guess this is the part where they do 'firming'. And the skin become softer and smoother. Plumped and hydrated, it's like a moisturizer that have a firming effect. There's no fat reducing effect (too bad) heehee, only the skin appears to be firmer after using it regularly for a couple of weeks.

The effect for the stretchmarks is almost the same, the skin become softer and smoother, but I don't see any significant effect for the stretchmarks (or perhaps I have too many). I just enjoy the spa aroma and that's it. It doesn't make the area applied dry, hence the skin appears to be better, but for the marks, they are still vividly there.

Last, the Bust Cream. The light creamy lotion also pleasant when used, it gives a firming effect once applied and it does help the skin to be hydrated, plumped and appear healthier. It does gives the bust a light firming effect.

Overall,

All three items is made to be used specifically for those after giving birth. But can still be used for anyone who needs it. Like someone whose just lost a lot of weight and need a 'firming' effect on their skin in their specific area. There's a love and hate relationship of me and the product, I really love the scent and softening effect yet hate the fact that it still contain paraben. Hopefully someday they'll come up with formula that contain no paraben.

Dewi Sri Spa Peach Delima Body Foam

who loves spa? I do!!!



I raise both hands and feet (if I could) haha! It's like pampering time is here! Unfortunately, not all of us has the luxury to spend time (and money) at the spa. So, I try to create the spa at my home, using scrubs, body butter, scented candles and so on.

One brand that is familiar with spa in Indonesia is called Dewi Sri Spa. On this opportunity I'm trying one of their collection called Peach Delima Body Foam.

Peach Delima Signature Series

Exotism of peach and delima has inspired various cultures from the ancient time. Delima (Punica granatum) represent eternity, lavish and fertility. Both are riched with vitamin C, vitamin A and poliferol as antioxidant and promote a fresh, smooth, healthy-looking complexion.

With a self foaming device the product burst out lovely foam with a rather sharp to the nose scent of peach delima. For the whole body I think it took around 10 pumps. I did try to enjoy the scent and benefit, which hmm, I can't seem to experience. The cleansing properties is okay, I guess, but there's no adequate freshness to it nor healthy looking complexion. In fact, I can easily replace the product with any other kind of body foam with a cost far less.

Verdict:

Sorry to say this item get more negative feedback from me. The Rp.100k ++ price is too much for a 2 weeks usage (2x a day). The scent is a bit sharp on the nose and the I don't see any 'real' benefits to the skin.
