Week 2 with Kiehl's Let Us Change Your Skin Program

Dear all,

this is my second week with Kiehl's ^__^

I've used them diligently twice a day as a set, only the sun protection are used on day time while the rest day and night. I'm getting more and more attached to them as a whole package. Unfortunately, Kiehl's doesn't have any tools for skin check, if they do, I can keep myself updated with numbers and actual counting heehee (yes, my background is in research and stats, hence I love numbers).

These two are the cleanser, one is the Purifying Foaming Cleanser and the other is the Skin Brightening Exfoliator. They both look whitishly identical but so different in texture. The foam is almost runny and the exfoliator is thicker. The scrub contains tiny bead but the foam does not. They both smells like lavender and help clears out the skin. One to be used before the other and milder while the scrub is to be used after the foam, not necessarily on daily basis but mild enough to do so and help remove dead skin cells and microcirculation more than the foam do.

This is my bare skin taken in the morning on week 1. And below are the videos from week 2 usage start from cleanser-scrub-toner-serum-eye cream-moisturizer and last the sun protection.

Yes, the acne is there due to hormonal issue ya, don't blame it on the products, actually most people have this habit of blaming products they used when actually the acne happens because of the lifestyle, bad habits, diet, and in my case, hormonal due to pregnancy.

I hope the tips are working out well on you, I've heard many people didn't use the products correctly hence the effect is different from what they are looking for. Please do ask the beauty adviser or in Kiehl's the KCR so you know exactly how to use them properly for maximum benefit.

Last but not least my week 2 photo heehee. I don't see much differences in the photos but I see it in real life, the skin become softer and the complexion is better due to better hydration. The fine lines are reducing, not gone completely but improved. Especially under the eyes.

The dullness and uneven skin tone also seems less, I'll keep using the products and will share with you week 3 and 4 once done.

Hello everyone!!!

I guess at this stage my readers are fully aware that I'm a perfume addict. from around 25-35 bottles of perfumes hanging out on my dressers (yes, more than 1 dresser), cupboards (yes, still emphasizing on the s), bookcase and even my girl's bedroom, I love perfume, they created layers of moods and aura for the user. My LUCYS Program with Kiehl's Start Now

Hello everyone,

my journey with Kiehl's current program called "Let Us Change Your Skin" or LUCYS starts now. KIehl's has sent me a series of products that matches my skin type, condition and needs at the moment. They are also take notes of my sensitive condition at the moment, so there are some ingredients I can't use, but with matters at hand, I believe in hydration fixes most of my normal to dry skin condition.

Yes, lines, large pores, uneven skin tone, irritation, and other skin problem may start from the lack of hydration on the skin. The skin need to be moist and plump to keep lines, wrinkle, large pores, irritation and other problems at bay. When the skin is lack of water, it will produce more sebum to compensate the 'dry' condition. So for those with oily skin type, please do drink more water throughout the day, eat your veggies and fruits to help maintain healthy digestion system and adding more nutrients like vitamins, plus keep the skin healthier too.

In this post, I'm just going to share about the products that are going to be with me this whole month.

You may found some of them already being reviewed before at my blog, separately and individually, now, I'm going to use them altogether as a daily routine day and night.

Start from cleansing-scrub daily (hey, I'm not a fan of scrubbing daily, but Kiehl's Skin Brightening Exfoliator feels really mild and can be used daily)-toner-serum (PSLRC)-eye cream-moisturizer and UV during the day only.

All of the products has a clear details, function, and ingredients on the packaging, please do read them carefully, especially on the ingredients part, to make sure your skin can tolerate and have no 'argue' with any of it as in allergy.

For me personally, so far so good, these cleanser and scrub smells so good, I'm in love with lavender and would like them to be in all of my beauty products. I found the scent to be irresistible.

I'm using the scrub daily for now, maybe on the second week I'm use it 3 times a week, and maybe for week 3-4, I'll use the scrub 2 times daily. I need to use it daily to remove the dead skin cells first as it helps with the penetration for the following skincare.

Of course you may change the routine of exfoliating as you see fit and according to your skin type. Some people like to exfoliate daily while some wants a major peeling only once a month instead of daily, which is best? I think that depends on your own personal preference and skin.

This is the toner, the milky white liquid is a delightful for the skin, especially the dehydrated skin. We need a toner that soften the skin condition, helps each upper layer cells to receives more from the upcoming products.

I damp a cotton pad with the toner and let it glide nicely on a cleaned dry skin, I used it on my belly as well as it helps the thick moisturizer for stretchmarks to be absorbed better, yes, this toner may be used for any body part, not just facial skin. But that is just a small tips from me, for now, let's just focus on it's function for the facial skin ^__^

Now, the PSLRC, the one that contains high vitamin C, 10,5%. The vitamin C effortlessly so easy to be used, leaving the skin feels velvety and comfortable as well. First user may experience a warmth sensation on the skin.

I've been using the serum along side with Midnight Recovery Oil and on it's own, they works our great. Many swore that the duo is the ultimate anti aging formula, which of course, I agree. Adding the Ultra Facial Cream as a moisturizer and a non fail formula is created for my skin.

Followed by the eye cream and moisturizer, the skin daily skincare routine is completed, during the day, just add a UV protection, a SPF 50 PA+++ is definitely enough for the whole day. PA +++ means it gives the skin the strongest protection available on the market.

Pssstt!! If you're not a fan of a white UV protection, use the BB Cream that contains Vit C and same strength against the sun as well, Kiehl's have them in 3 different shade that matches Asian skin tone.

For me the white, non colored UV protection is suitable for unisex, daily usage that doesn't need any 'makeup' infused protection. Clears and benefits in its only function to protect the skin.

Fighting Bacteria Activity with IOMA

Hi everyone,

couple of weeks ago, IOMA gave me their anti bacterial collection for my high bacterial activity (euhhhh) facial skin. It was on the maximum level and the reason behind the acne that keep reappearing on my chin. They don't look pretty and I want to get rid of them. Being pregnant is one thing so I need to carefully handle the matter as some ingredients are not advisable to be used during this sensitive period.

After performing some individual research (which I can't be hold responsible for the majority of the society), some ingredients can still be used under special circumstances and not for the long term, so a week max should be okay and don't use it intensely or in high concentrate.

Here they are, the scrub, mask, and day & night moisturizer. The eye cream is in the anti-wrinkle range (number 3). All of them are in sachets and only 2 each, except for the day and night moisturizer which is enough for 7 days.

Each of them has different texture and function. The scent also different, the anti bacterial range smells like medicine, I dislike the scent but enjoying the effect.

This is the mask, like a mud, it is used after cleaning the skin. I found it to be highly effective in reducing the bacterial activity on the skin yet still feels so friendly to the skin, no irritation nor discomfort occurred. Usually, for mask with mud that help reducing bacterial activity, my skin will have some redness and tightness due to the drying effect, IOMA Absorbent Mask doesn't do that. The skin remains calm and clean.

This is the eye cream from number 3, the anti wrinkle collection which I love love love. The texture is like a soft snow gently touching the skin near the eyes, it melts and give this wonderful sensation, so silky and velvety at the same time, comforting and richly hydrating the area. Smoothen out and calming the skin beautifully, too bad I only have two sachets, I wish I have the whole full size. In terms of texture and feeling plus immediate effect, this is the best eye contour cream I've tried.

And since in a sachet there's still so much left and I don't want to leave it open aired, I used some of it on my laughing lines too, I don't remember who gave me this tips but, anti wrinkle eye cream can be used on 'other' wrinkles too, like the laughing lines.

The scrub, the tiny beads that helps clean the skin and has this warm sensation when applied. The skin's dead cells uplifted and make them ready for the next step. IOMA reminds me the importance of keeping the skin 'scrubbed' now and then so the nutrients from the skincare can penetrate into the skin. Do it correctly but not using harsh ingredients or too often, once a week is enough and using the correct product like from IOMA ^__-

Last but definitely not least on this post is day and night moisturizer, no, it is not empty, the gel is clear as it is. Easy to be used and there's also that familiar warm feeling on the skin once applied. At first, they feel sticky, but wait for a while and the clear gel will absorb nicely to the skin, leaving no trace, this is good, but I still hate the smell (yucks!).

L'Oreal Paris False Lash Butterfly (Wings) Waterproof

Hello ladies,

L'Oreal Paris has recently launched their newest mascara, the one that claims to have a butterfly effect ^__-

Personally, I love L'Oreal Paris Mascara since they are really waterproof, so far the only brand that can stand the humidity and sweats near my eyes are L'Oreal Paris's mascara. The rest usually smudge, melts and leave a dark circles on my eyes (panda eyes is still considered too kind).

Now, before we get to the review, let's see what the PR share with us. The blue and white words, unique packaging, specially made brush, able to make lashes shaped like winged butterfly, waterproof, beautiful and well defined.

The bristles are tiny and firm but still soft enough to be used on the eyes. Below is the actual product. The asymmetrical brush is indeed genius, using it does makes a big difference than just ordinary brush.

And here it is, the moment of truth, what else than the real 'before after' images.

I've used it several times, and it never fails to amuse me. I'm still learning to 'grab' that lashes on the edges but so far the brush helps me a lot. And the waterproof ability is just top notch. I love how it stays no matter what. Lately, the heat is unbearable and I can't use AC all the time, so when using the mascara, I'm able to test them in the most uncomfortable way possible, full drenched sweat.

And the mascara stays ON! Others are definitely difficult enough  to set and will keep on melting, L'Oreal Paris False Lash Butterfly pass the test with flying colors.

Does it clumps? Not really, the formula is easy to be used and brush on gently. It really help pulls the lashes to appears longer like falsies. Each of the lashes become blacker, longer and the volume is just nice. I'm not using an eyelash curler, I think they'll added more curve, so go ahead, use it alone or with an eyelash curler.

The build-able formula also kind to the lashes, they don't feel the weight whatsoever which made the product even more convenient is the non stickiness.

Overall, a great mascara that helps create a beautiful winged lashes, longer, darker and bolder too. The lightweight formula and non stickiness is most sought after. Clean it using a makeup remover (like a cleansing oil). Proven to be waterproof and effective in creating a dramatic look like a falsies.

Kiehl's "Let Us Change Your Skin" Program for Bloggers

Kiehl's has a new thing going on that I'm sure a lot of their customers already found out, it's "Let's Us Change Your Skin" (LUCYS) by Kiehl's. The program has started some time ago and has limitation, but Kiehl's would never stop in giving free consultation and free samples for anyone to help them getting to know their skin better and get the right products for their skin type and needs.

Now, for a whole month, I'll be one of the blogger collaborating with Kiehl's Indonesia for LUCYS program. You'll witness my skin's condition from time to time using Kiehl's products. But first, I have to come to their counter and have my skin checked by the KCR (Kiehl's Customer Representative).

I went to one of the branch, which is in Seibu, Grand Indonesia. Started with an oil check on forehead and cheek to determine the skin type. And then series of questions and examination by the KCR, simple, quick and what is good about Kiehl's is that they'll give us free samples to try which products that suits the skin, where then we may proceed in only using the products we see benefits and good reaction from the skin.

Since the choices are quite varied and Kiehl's do offer a variety of mix and match products according to the skin's need, I do have plenty of options as well.

I've tried most of them but never have a change to use them as a package since, hmm, when reviewing, I usually use 1-2 items and combine with products from another brand. In this opportunity, it will be be just me and Kiehl's products.

Sally Hansen Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oil

how are you?

Who hate a broken nail? I do, I really do, broken, chipped off, jaggy ends, etc, they really bugged me. If it happens on a long nails, I can just cut it off or use a nail file to tidy them up, but when it happens to a short nails, ouch, the cut may be went too deep and into the flesh under the nails. I dislike the feeling of a too-shorted nails. The skin underneath feels so sensitive.

Here it is a clear oil that contain a lot of nourishment for the nail and cuticle surrounding the nail. Please do read the instruction on how to use the product at the back of the packaging.

Use it nightly, massage in, leave it overnight and rinse it before using a nail color. Or if you are not using any nail color, just leave it as long as possible. One thing that caught my attention is the 4000 I.U of Vit E to help the nails getting stronger.

Of course, this is not a magic cure, use it regularly and as a routine activity to build the strength, for normal nail condition, it can be used as a booster, while for those with weak nails may use it as a treatment. The weaker the nails the longer it need to recover. The whole bottle last for months when used for all 20 nails (finger and toes).

This is how it looks like on the nails, oily and glistening. They oils doesn't last long on the nails and cuticles once I touch the bed for that 'overnight' treatment, since I moved around much. So I tend to leave it around 10-15 minutes while gently rubbed in after application for better penetration, before bed time.

The oils helps the nails to be stronger and the cuticles to stay moist, which is a good thing for those suffering from extreme dryness where the cuticles easily cut or peeled off (ouch).

Hmm, the product still contain paraben, so in terms of safety, I think it is best to used it as needed, maybe when the nails are already in healthy state, no need to use the product as a long term treatment.

Original Source Lemon & Lime Shower Hair & Body (For Men?)

I guess it is not a secret anymore, sometime I do like using products that are made for men. I know that the majority of beauty products are created for women but nowadays more cool stuffs are appearing for men that I found to be interesting and practical. Like this product below.

There are a few key points that allure me to get and use one:

1. To be used for hair and body, it's an all in one product for adult (where usually found on baby's or kid's head to toe......hmm, is there a resemblence between men and babies or kids?!).

2. Smells refreshingly taunting, it's between the freshness of a lemon and a bit like a dishwashing liquid with limes >.~

3. The bright color is attractive.

4. Truly reviving.

5. Natural fragrance.

In terms of reviewing the liquid. 

The smells good experience is wonderful and rejuvenating, really fresh and citrusey, like reaaalllyyyy freshh and realllyyyy citrusey. The yellow clear liquid easily lathers on the skin, use a sponge or bathroom lilies for more foaming action. I love to dispense them on the hair and use my hair to lather them up, it cleans the scalp and hair nicely,  I kinda think of it like a detox moment, it really feels like thoroughly cleans everything it touches. Then let the foam move into my body and clean them all as well. 

Surprisingly, the skin, the scalp, and hair doesn't suffer any dryness at all after usage. No squeaky clean discomfort like from after using a cheap shampoo from a cheap salon. The scalp is wonderfully clean, the hair too and shiny (still soft), -don't forget to always use conditioner afterwards-, and the skin, hmm, clean and fresh with no abrasive effect. 

Oh I wish they made one for unisex as well, I don't see why the others could have it too? The smells of vanilla all over the hair and body, or perhaps the strawberry, hmm.
