Microblading alias Sulam Alis

Hello lovelies,

around 2 months ago, I went for a microblading aka sulam alis. In Indonesia, sulam alis is a huge thing and in this post, I'll show you what is this sulam alis or microblading or microshading, or mist powder or 6D, 4D, whatever D it is.

Long time ago, moms are raving the eyebrow tattoo, and it stick to them like for life. It's densely thick and visible from kilometers away. It is THAT thick. Nowadays, people are so into embroidery and it's a huge thing in Asia. Perhaps since Asian has thinner brow, we are not as hairy as our sister  with different hormones and genetics background, so we need help in terms of those hair on the brows, well not just brows, lashes too and so on. But we never feel envy with the hairs on the armpit :D

Now back to this embroidery for the brow that also known as microblading because if the technique and blade used. So the more the D the more lines are made, so it's becoming more like the real thing. Still, it all depends on the ability and how the artist do your brow.  Nevertheless, everything started like shown above, numbing cream. All good professional brow artist should always cleans and numbs the area in the right time. As numbing cream works around 20 minutes, if you stroke them too fats the pain is still there, and if it's too long the numbing cream doesn't have their magic power anymore. So make sure when you do yours, the artist really set the time right.

And then the artist will draw the outline and ask you whether you're happy with the design. There are tons of shapes and designs and it all depends on your preference to face shape and colors too. There's tone to choose, the availability of the tones also depends on where you did your eyebrow, there are famous ones that have wide variety of shades while some only have very few options.

The finishing of the brow also differ, strokes only like microblading or the ones that looks like you did your brow using pencils, this is called microshading or mist, brow, etc that are similar to makeup but it last. These embroidery thingy doesn't stay as long as tattoos but it last for a few years. Perfect for someone who wasn't really committed but wants something that doesn't need daily routine as much as using the whole makeup, well it helps reducing by 5 minutes :D

 The process for me started from choosing the right artist, from the locations, their pricing, and the most important matter, the portfolios. I need those the most. And I'm not recommending mine since she is not really in the friendly zone, but I love her work in the instagram. I prefer someone that can answer all 1001 questions of mine, since I'm new at this, I concern about my health, I want to know more about her technique, hygiene and so on. So I do have my right and she doesn't seems to be happy answering all my questions. 

Still, I love her work and finally we have some schedule I could fit in. The location is quite near my home, when I was there she have a studio on her own. All the blades used are new and she said everything is cleaned properly and she is focusing on the cleanliness and design of the brow. I ask for a fuller look but she said that this is better and if I still want to have a fuller one, it can be done during the touch up. So like most services I know, there's a free touch up and should be done within 3 months upon the first appointment.

(2 days after the embroidery)

The process is a breeze, I don't feel any pain during the procedure and the numbing cream is applied twice. The first time during the first strokes and the second ones right before the second strokes. Since I asked for a micromix (blading and shading) in gradation, so the inner brows are lines like hairs and towards the outer is fine dots like pencils.

During the first day all the way until the 5th day, I didn't let water touch the brows, not even cleaning, just these lotion cream given by the artist, and I bought a few more just in case I needed more. Which I did, I use them diligently, like every 5 hours. It helps to soothe the skin, calms and helps the healing process too. It's a special cream made for eyebrow 'tattoo'.

After 5 days are over, I can take a shower like normal people do and let the water run through the brows, it feels good to be cleaned. There are stiffness and I was told to never pull them off. Let them peel all by themselves. So there are times where the brows looks like they are a bit mess, parts that are flakes off and parts that aren't.

But worry not, they all will come off and leave this natural like brow that you somewhat dream off...why do I say that? That because I want a thicker and fuller brow, which the artist insisted she will done it later during the free touch up, ouch.

Does that means I can't play with my brows? Surely can. I can still color, use mascara, or do anything I want, even though the artist said that it will reduce the longevity of the brows. But how long do they actually last? Not forever for sure, these microblading eyebrows last around 2-3 years, and if I want to get the touch up promo which cost half of the full price, I need to get them done every year, that is still pricey for being high maintenance.

After around 6 weeks (because I read that the best time to get the touch up is actually 6 weeks after the first one was done. The wound has completely healed and it's settled. So if there anything to be corrected or done more is after these 6 months.

The procedure is the same, cleaning, drawing, and making. This time, I insist on getting mine fuller and thicker too.

Do I get what I want? Almost. It looks really thick and fulfilling at first, but after they peeled off, they look slimmer. Not as slim as before, but not as thick as I want it too.

Even though the procedure is the same, somehow, it is more painful than the first, like the numbing cream doesn't work on the first application. Tears almost came down that day, but somehow, during the second application after the second numbing product is applied, no more pain is felt, thank God!

The peeling, healing and everything I have to go through is the same as the first. No water for the first 5 days, only the lotion given applied two time per day this time, and days went on smoothly. A few accidents does happened during healing process, my little girl scratches my eyebrow when they are not peeled yet and it felt painful. I don't know whether it leaves a mark or not since most of them still covered with the inks.

In the end, everything does become well, I do still wish for a fuller brows, perhaps next time, or next year.

Now here's some of my tips for conclusions:
1. Get the right artist that you know will do a good job for you, it's your money, you decide. The price is varied from place to place and how they do they work, find one that you really like. It's okay to ask around and ask tons of questions.
2. Prepare yourself, there's still be pain. But not overwhelming ones.
3. Don't come when you're sensitive, like PMS, sick or unwell, or when something bad just happened and your emotionally not stable and could not make a fair judgement.
4. Bring a book, magazine, or a good data plan to help the time goes by.
5. Bring drinks and food if needed, 2 hours is kinda long.
6. Listen to your artist and don't get the brows wet or other things touching it for at least 5 days. No sauna excessive workouts, swimming (for sure), peeling, rubbing, or scratching the area.
7. The eyebrow will fully heal approximately 6 weeks, do a touch up after 6 weeks.

Efek pertama dari Laderma adalah melembabkan kulit dan memberinya nutrisi. Karena kulit aku kering dan juga sensitif, pertama-tama aku sangat berhati-hati dalam menggunakan Laderma, ternyata krim ini memang sesuai untuk kulit jenis apapun, bahkan pada kulit yang kering dan sensitif seperti aku. Biasanya kulit aku mudah merah-merah, perih dan gatal saat menggunakan produk yang tidak peka, namun, saat aku menggunakan Laderma, hanya ada perasaan nyaman dan lembut.

Aku merasakan manfaat dari Laderma. Karena aku cukup aktif dalam bergerak, aku suka melakukan kegiatan seperti olahraga air. Saat menggunakan pakaian renang, kita pastinya ingin menutupi area yang kita merasa kurang nyaman untuk terlihat, bekas luka yang membekas bisa mengakibatkan kurangnya percaya diri. Memang sih, luka di area manapun rasanya kurang nyaman, bisa saja luka tersebut membawa kenangan yang tidak menyenangkan atau kita tidak terlalu ingin ditanya oleh banyak orang mengenai apa yang terjadi atau sekedar menghindari tatapan orang atau, kita hanya ingin kulit kita terlihat tak bercacat cela, flawless.

Banyak sekali faktor yang membuat kita ingin bekas luka tersebut hilang. Laderma membantu aku untuk menyamarkan luka dengan perasaan yang paling nyaman.

Saat tampil dimuka umum atau untuk kepuasan diri sendiri, semua orang memiliki alasannya masing-masing yang membuat kita ingin menyamarkan bekas luka kita, apapun alasannya Laderma hadir untuk membantu kita.

Aku pribadi merasa Laderma memberikan tambahan rasa percaya diri saat memudarkan luka ku, ada beberapa luka akibat cacar, goresan-goresan seperti bekas jatuh, ataupun luka-luka kecil lainnya. Beberapa luka kecil dan tidak dalam memang bisa hilang dengan sendirinya, namun kulit kita memiliki memory atau ingatan, jadi kulit kita akan mengingat luka tersebut dan saat regenerasi, kulit yang baru mengikuti bekas luka atau luka yang telah sembuh tersebut. Oleh karena itu bentuk kulit kita tidak akan sama. Semakin dalam luka yang pernah dialami, semakin berbekas di kulit, hal ini terjadi seperti saat kulit pasca operasi dimana pisau bedah yang amat sangat tajam membelah kulit sampai ke lapisan terdalam. Saat inilah produk seperti Laderma sangat dibutuhkan.

Kebetulan, aku memiliki beberapa luka sayatan di area dada dan bawah perut, karena Laderma bisa digunakan di bagian kulit manapun, maka akupun menggunakannya di dada dan bekas c-section atau luka akibat melahirkan secara operasi.

Untuk area muka, aku menggunakannya pada area bekas jerawat, memang tidak banyak, tapi jika kulitku bisa terlihat lebih halus dan merata, mengapa tidak?!

Hasil yang aku dapat dari menggunakan Laderma adalah permukaan kulit yang terasa lebih halus, jadi saat disentuh, kulit tersebut menjadi lebih lembab dan tidak terlalu 'gradakan'/kasar/ atau bergelombang seperti sebelumnya. Kulit menjadi lebih kenyal dan efeknya aku rasakan dan nikmati setiap hari setiap sehabis menggunakan. 

Khusus untuk kulit wajah, aku gunakan Laderma di area yang bermasalah setelah habis dibersihkan dan sebelum pelembab. Untuk kulit tubuh, aku gunakan setelah habis mandi dan sebelum body lotion. Secara Laderma sangat mudah menyerap, produk ini tidak pernah 'mengganggu' produk lainnya. Tidak ada rasa berminyak atau ketidaknyamanan lain. Bahkan suamiku yang memiliki kulit sangat berminyak tetap dapat menggunakan Laderma. Untuk mereka yang memiliki luka kulit cukup dalam karena jerawat, hmm, sebenarnya bukan karena jerawat, karena dulu dia nakal sekali, hobi banget memencet jerawat secara berlebihan dan mengakibatkan kulitnya 'bopeng-bopeng'. Nah, kulit suamiku ini cocok sekali aku jadikan contoh betapa produk Laderma bisa berguna untuk dia.

Permukaan kulitnya sudah terlalu rusak, bahkan saat kami ke dokter kulitpun untuk perawatan laser, dikatakan suamiku perlu melakukan treatment laser sebanyak 2x seminggu selama 2 tahun penuh untuk dapat melihat perbedaan hasilnya, jadi bukan berarti jadi halus, mulus total, hanya baru akan menunjukkan perbedaan. Itu tentunya mahal sekali dan tentunya, seperti perawatan apapun yang melibatkan perubahan struktur kulit (dengan laser) akan terasa sakit. Jelas, untuknya, dia lebih memilih menggunakan Laderma secara teratur.

Anakku juga telah mengalami operasi akibat gumpalan infeksi pada kulit wajahnya, yang dikenal khalayak umum sebagai bisul. Pada saat bisul tersebut sudah terlalu besar, dokter anakpun menyarankan dia untuk ke bedah umum, ada sedikit luka sayatan dan bolong yang cukup besar. Kulit yang menutup kurang sempurna dan tidak kembali seperti semula. Kami menggunakan Laderma pada kulit wajahnya dan bekas luka yang lebih dari setahun ini perlahan-lahan akan menipis. Sekali lagi karena Laderma aman dan sangat nyaman digunakan bahkan oleh anak-anak sekaligus.

• Disamping itu, stress kerja yang tinggi dan kurang tidur membuat wajah terlihat 2.5 tahun lebih tua. Stress juga dapat melemahkan kolagen kulit hingga 70% dan meningkatkan risiko munculnya keriput pada kulit wajah.
• Melakukan kegiatan sepanjang hari juga dapat membuat kulit wajah perempuan tampak 2.64 tahun lebih tua dari usia kulit wajah yang sebenarnya. Kehidupan yang dipenuhi dengan kegiatan nonstop dapat mempercepat tumbuhnya kerutan dan membuat kulit wajah semakin kusam.
• Ketika bepergian pun, level polusi yang tinggi dapat mengurangi elastisitas kulit hingga 2%. Sementara polusi ada dimana-mana, bahkan di udara yang kita hirup setiap saat dan kualitas udara yang buruk dapat menyebabkan berbagai masalah kulit. • Sedang diet? Ketika cheating day, biasanya keinginan untuk mengonsumsi makanan kurang sehat seperti fast food meningkat. Ternyata, terlalu sering mengonsumsi makanan kurang sehat dapat membuat kulit wajah tampak 1.8 tahun lebih tua.

One thing that I thought to be quite interesting is the texture of the day cream that feels like a makeup base. It has that powdery feeling, perhaps it is due to the sun protection inside or the soft 'covering' or blurring effects that made the skin appear better, or perhaps younger.

Now, the night cream. A product that also comes in a pot, smells also very fragrant like the day cream but with a slightly different texture. It is more like a gel cream and a bit more transparent than the day cream. It provide more moisture than the day cream too.

These two products are made accordingly, one for the day that contain SPF and the one for night time with a more watery consistency. Still thou, the product is more suitable for those with normal to oily skin type as my skin is dry and it need additions of hydrating serum.

The products itself are light and when used it absorbed easily on the skin. One thing that I don't really enjoy is the overwhelming perfume on those creams. I wish they could come a bit softer and delicate. If you look into the ingredients, seems like there's heaps of alcohol, preservatives, and hmm not much of the things I'm looking for in an anti aging creams. They are too 'light' as in effects and ingredients for the skin.

it's not that they are not 'invisible', compared when using none, they do show good results, but for someone who have been using skincare diligently (and which that contain high quality ingredients) would not be able to see the desired outcomes. In the end, it's about preference (afterall).

The eye cream is light, scentless, and has that rich creamy texture. So use only a very tiny amount and smooth it out on the eyes area. The product can be used for the laughing lines too, it helps soften the wrinkles and give good results when used every day, like two times a day. Used the eye cream under the day or night cream and used only on cleaned skin.

One more tips from me, use every skincare on cleaned and moist skin as it helps the helpful ingredients to works better as there's no barrier. When taking the products, don't forget to use a clean spatula or fingers, so they'll last longer and doesn't ruin what's inside.

So I think their highlight is on the bright and bold colors like red, pink, plum, cherry, and I'm getting a Beige Lingerie which is close to nude. I'm almost disappointed, until, I tried the product.

It has that smooth intensity and unbelievable texture that I adore. This is what all lipstick should felt like, so silky and comforting, hydrating, watery and sensual without any balmy, greasy nor discomforts from the feeling like after consuming something very oily. I'm a fan of lipstick, especially high ends brands, not because they are prestigious, but they give results that I want. An infused skincare cosmetics. I hate waxy feeling, tacky balm, or weird scents that are all overwhelming and making me realize that I actually have something on my lips. Some could be unbearable, like the ones that dried the lips and create misery, or the ones that promise moisturizing effect but made the problem worst by being so thick and difficult, it add up the dead skin cells, creating a mountains like uneven surface.

How come a simple product known as foundation be that good? 

Combining technology, high quality ingredients, research and understanding what we need in a foundation could be the key to their success.

Here are some images, you can clearly see the effects of using the product. Prepare to be amazed.

The texture of the foundation is like a light creamy lotion, it blends effortlessly onto the skin. As light and airy as it is, surprisingly, the coverage is amazing. I do have tons of blemishes as I just had my period, so my skin, could be said, is at its worst condition.

From large pores, redness, post acne marks, lack of sleep that causing my skin to looks dull and tired, uneven skin tone, to dark spots too. In a single layer of applying the foundation, the skin already appear so flawless, like it is naturally good. I can add more layers to build up coverage to maximum, for me, 2 layers of foundation is definitely enough, like a fly could easily slipped over.

The skin appears like it has zero problem, no large pores, no redness seen, no scar, post acne marks, and the radiance is just beautiful. Not too much, just perfect. I received a lot of compliments that night when using the foundation.

All the after images shown in this post is after using the foundation alone, not any powder nor concealer is added. Only on the after colour and full makeup is the powder has been added to help achieving the semi matte finish that I want.

The foundation is light enough to be used daily and dazzling enough for that special occasion, since it is so feather-like yet sublime. It's a foundation that I'll happily use every day and doesn't seem to want anything else. It's that good.

I feel like the foundation replaces other products such as primer and base at the same time. It's a fulfilling foundation that caters many issues at the same time enhancing every good angle in a foundation.

I do still need a concealer for under the nose, but that's it.

One more thing, the foundation smells heavenly, I can still sense the scent hours after application, like my face has its own perfume.

I have nothing but praises for Lingerie de Peau Natural Perfection Foundation Skin-Fusion Texture Long Lasting SPF 20, from the function, finish, texture, ability, to how it feels on the skin. Those who have dry skin like mine can simply use skincare first to address the problem prior using  makeup, including this foundation, and yes, those with oily skin should do the same too, use proper skincare that helps oiliness, a good skincare also helps makeup performs better too, so we can't rely on one thing and neglect the other. Juara Candlenut Nourishing Massage Oil

Hello ladies,

Juara with their iconic candlenut series that smells so good and provide tons of hydrating and moisturizing effect to my skin also have a massage oil which can be used as a body oil as well.

The product looks simple and it can be found in some online stores, but I couldn't find it on their official website. The product is real alright since Juara themselves gave it to me, a few bloggers have review the product too so I'm kinda confuse in terms of where to get a legit info regarding the product, so in this post, it would be solely about my personal experience in using the product.

The product has a tacky label, like it was just stick on it and if we removed it, it can be easily mistaken or sold to other brand. Perhaps it is to be sold in Indonesia only since I don't think it can be on par with the regulation in the US.

The packaging is not as luxurious as their other products, looks a bit like a cheap product. The plastic cap doesn't hold very well and easily removed, I'm concern when taking this one during traveling.
The pump works well, it distribute the oil little by little, for massaging it could be a bit fuss since the oil absorbed pretty fast on my dry skin, so I need around 3-4 pumps per area during massage. On the other hand, as a body oil, it was perfect.

Oil holds moisture better than water, so I use it as a body oil on daily basis with my lotion, so it adds us as a barrier that  protects my skin from dryness, I can use it several times a day, and it works like a charm for my heels too.

The oils soften the skin, make them moist and supple again, even on very dry areas. Lotion absorbed too fast and the effect is felt for a few hours while the oil can last for twice the time. One bonus point for me is the lovely scent from Candlenut, using it with the rest of series made the scent  last for the whole day, I love it!

Overall,

a great massage body oil that I can use everyday, it helps soften the skin, protecting it and create a moist barrier for dry skin. It can be used for areas prone to stretchmarks, doesn't make the skin feels hot (so it is still breathable), absorbed easily by the skin with no oily nor greasy residue, reminds me a lot of a dry oil, so in the end regarding the product, it is wonderful and worth every penny, it's the packaging that they need to improve.
