Redken

I got them for free and really enjoy the products. The problem of my hair is in the scalp that often oily (after all I am living in a very humid land). So I need a product that can penetrate and oversee that. This is one of my favorite shampoo, Redken Hair Advance Scalp Revive. It can refresh, rejuvenate, and have that tingling sensation that notify me of the working ingredients inside it.

I do feel my scalp is free-er from oiliness and can breathe again. Less oily and more growth. I also use the 'tonic' and I must say the applicator is really clever. I can sprayed it on the area needed and right through it. I love the fresh scent and the freshness it create on my scalp. Some other product that I used create more oily and the alcohol sting a bit, but with Redken I found no such problem.

Salt Mineral Hair Conditioner

Since LUSH product are nowhere to be found in Singapore so when I found out SkinFood have this amazing conditioner I blast myself to the nearest store. So at Jurong Point branch, a very nice staff explain the whole thing for me. And when she's not even finish explaining I know this is the stuff I needed. My scalp is oily and I hate how they easily turn limp, so when I used this product it gives the volume I want.

I use with the shampoo I already had in my home, then I apply a chunk of this wonderful thick gooey conditioner all over, yup, all over. Other conditioner are not allowed to touch the scalp while this one not just can but help my problem from root to the end. I love how it makes my scalp clean and my hair lusciously clean but not dry and frizzy. The hair is surprisingly glowing and hydrated perfectly.

You can check out their website for more details. Someday I'll buy the Salt Mineral Hair Wash and I'll sure to love it too, so far every time I visit them they either out of stock or just not there.

1 jar of Salt Mineral Hair Conditioner can last about 2 weeks if used daily.

Follow Me

When it comes to daily shower I want that perfect, not over the top scent and cleanliness. Suitable for daily use and I found them, this Nature's Path from Follow Me is the best I can get on a very bargain price price. Comes in 4 scent Flora (above pic), Anti Bacterial (below pic), Honey Milk (yellow), and Botanical (green). I must say I love them all. But currently using the Anti Bacterial and can't get enough of it.

The liquid is milky and easy to lather on. Creating a very light foam that easy to spread all over, doesn't leave any dry feeling nor stickiness afterward. Other anti bacterial shower foam I've tried create a very drying effect on my skin. I hate it. And other shower foam that claim to have moisturized effect leave a very sticky feeling and I dislike the smell too.

Nature's Path scent are fresh and feminine at the same time. I love how the scent linger but not overwhelming.

Fair Price sell each bottle for around 5$. 5$++ for normal price and less than 5$ for promotion.

Nobody told me about this or at least

not as I expected, usually things like this only make about 1 page, not even a full page on any maternity magazine. Well there's a lot of maternity magazine, like for parenting, mom and their babies, and so on, but no magazine ever expose about this problem, at least not so much.

I'm talking about Higroma colli and Hydrop fetalis, a condition where the fetus is having such abnormality that my gynae said the chance of survival only 2% (or less), while the other feto maternal specialist said the baby either die while still in the womb or during birth or the life won't last long. Nothing could have prepared me to hear those words.

Couple days ago I'm back to Singapore and back to my gynae, as she have predicted the worst have happen. My baby died about 2 weeks ago. I thought I was prepared for anything, but still tears broke down realizing that all hopes are now faded for me having this baby. On Thursday, I'm scheduled to have the baby removed. I don't know what will happen next. My emotions have been up and down, the sadness, the anger, all the why's and how come keep coming to my head, leaving me more devastated and exhausted.

I just hope I can get through all these and make it alright, and someday can look back with a smile.

To Pee or Not To Pee

Living here in Singapore I made a shocking discovery about toilet 'business'. The government, cleaners, building management, and so on, have made a tremendous effort to make sure that toilets here in Singapore not just OK, but very well spotless clean and hygienic. Unfortunately the toilets user itself that I found 'making a mess' here and there.

Based on personal experience only 2 out of 10 toilet I found in the OK standard. My OK standard are:
1. The toilet was flushed by the previous user. Surprisingly 5 out of 5 toilet I've been through were not flush. Not just from the urine but from 'poo'. For me it is a disgusting act and the person done that need to be fine or at least go on a basic human manner class or something like that.
2. No urine or 'poo' mesh at the seat or the floor. 4/10 toilet I found to be like this. Come on ladies, it's not that hard to just sit and aim right! Most of the toilet in Singapore are a 'dry type' so there's no way the user that come after you can clean up your mess.
3. Adequate amount of tissue paper. Most toilet in hawker center doesn't equipped with tissue paper, and usually inside of the toilet itself was very messy and dirty. Found in 8/10 hawker center I've been to.
4. Adequate amount of soaps in the soap dispenser. 4/10 toilet in the mall run out of soaps. 8/10 toilet in the hawker center doesn't even have a soap dispenser. So let's imagine the cook, the waitress, aunties and uncles that prepare, cook and served our food after doing their 'business' in the toilet can not wash their hand properly due to no soap.
5. No shoe/sandal mark on the seat of the toilet. 4/5 toilet in Singapore are 'marked' by these. Perhaps this also explain why no 2 rule of the OK toilet is violated.
6. Adequate amount of toilet. Some mall like Plaza Singapura only have 4 cubicle, so that's explain the long queue during weekend and public holiday. To tell you the truth this matter refrain me from going there, especially bringing my kids along.

If you see from the above, most of the 'mess' was made by the user itself. I remember a few years ago the government was planning to fine anyone that found didn't flush. I wish the make that rule come true now.

Still in the toilet issue, I see many malls have a very wonderful effort to make families love going there by making family toilets equipped with children's toilet. Sadly many teenagers though them self as little kids and like to occupy these toilets with their friends for a very long time. Usually just for chatting. I think they are being too creative, I know there's a restaurant in abroad that served food in toilet bowl, so maybe they try to create that environment by using family toilet despite of blocking other people needs. You can find a lot of these teens at Lot 1 or other mall that have family toilet. You can hear the sound of their giggles from outside, perhaps they thinking how cool they are to be able to 'hijack' little kids toilet.

Club Med Bintan

I must say I am so blessed to be able to enjoy this wonderful relaxing and fun trip at Club Med Bintan. The place is so gorgeous plus it is surrounded by a beautiful beach. We went on an 11 o'clock ferry from Singapore and the boat is well let's just say to those who easily sea-sick thank God the ride only took about 40 minutes. They do put on TV and a descent toilet on board so the ferry itself is not so bad. Arriving at the Terminal at Bintan we are picked up by a big bus and delivered comfortably to our resort.

Arriving in Club Med Bintan we are welcomed by the GOs and it is a new experience for me since no other hotel/resort does that and I feel awkward at first but later on Club Med won't be the same without them.

The blue sky and the wonderful breeze of Bintan island also greeted us in a lovely way. Look at those blue sky, we brought our kites, but the wind is so strong we almost lost it, please do check out and ask around for the best time to visit Club Med Bintan since on monsoon some water activity is not advisably.

Soon is lunchtime and the menu is superb, Korean, Japanese, Indonesian, Chinese, Western menu and all it's glory is served. I really love how much they put the care on the food. Everything is delicious and need I say more?! A 3 days holiday here I gain 2 Kg, bummer!

Beside 3 times meal they also provide open bar, snacks like 2 times a day and a restaurant in case you're still not full, talk about pampered here :)

For health conscious people the veggies and fruits are all there. For parents baby and kids food are available. Oh and during meal time the GO will come and sit with you, so you can ask around and they can get your feedback, for me it is a perfect opportunity to maximize my trip and they can tell us which activity not to be missed.

The beach have a lovely white sand with the blue water, they provide us with kayaks and sail boats. On some season we can also enjoy snorkeling. If the sea is not your thing the resort still offer us with many indoor sport activity from tennis, badminton, table tennis, basketball, archery, and spa. Only for the spa guess need to top up according to the service.

At night bar and activities for adult also open, so I don't see anyone being bored.

This is one of the hit activity on the resort, the circus :) just climb there and swing your way. Many activity you have to check the timing. On the pool they also have water aerobic which is fun and you can get those extra energy sourced out.

After a day of many fun activities we went to our room which is wonderfully made, western style big bed for parents and my kid got her own bed, we love how they put extra care. Please do open their Facebook page for more pics of the resort and the rooms. It's exactly like that, so pretty isn't?!

Tips from me:
1. Check all the timings of each activity and don't miss a thing.
2. No need carrying so many clothes, they do have coin laundry here and detergent are sold at their souvenir shop. So does sun block, sun care, clothes, etc.
3. For kids, you are welcomed here! Be involved and join the fun, my kid having a great time there and she always talking about going back there again.
4. Enjoy!

StarCruise Libra candy

If you have th
e chance to go on a cruise while in Singapore, StarCruise is not a bad choice. They have great food, show and I love how clean and professional they are. They still have a long way to go before become a luxurious cruise, but it is budget friendly and any family can enjoy. We took the KL-Phuket cruise. We touch the Phuket land, but not KL since we thought we've been there before so why bother, the Phuket trip is a bit rough on the edges since during heavy rain we need to wait more than an hour in rain to wait for our boat to come to get us to the ship, and yes, it's in the middle of the night.

The good news is, that's the only bad thing happen to us during the whole trip, so I give 4 out of 5 star.

The view of the beach in Phuket during sunset is really lovely, I see many Caucasian tourists here and I see they have a comfortable life here since everything here is in a relaxed atmosphere and a lot cheaper than their own country.

Many passengers I talked to said SuperStar Virgo is better, so perhaps someday instead of taking another Libra, I will choose Virgo.

Oh Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun...

I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee it, it's the best SPF I ever know. I bought it during my monthly facial time, this time it's in Babelicious, I got a 2x40$ voucher from Cozycot so I don't want to waste it and use it right away (because they got exp date too this
Dec'09). I get Ready for the Oscar treatment which consist of microdermabation and I top up 10$ for a very cold mask. I like the idea of non pushy sales and the calm environment, but I don't really like when the beautician face is too close during the treatment, I can smell her breath, it's kind a yucky for me, just like what my dentist do, yucky.Too close for comfort.

But there's still a lot of plus sign I found in Babelicious such as, quiet environment, hot electric blanket, and relaxed atmosphere. Most of all a very good quality product like my water-based SPF 50 sun block that cost $34, a well worth price.
