Guerlain Fall/Winter 2015 Makeup Collection

I just got back from an event with Guerlain, and it was surreal.

They are just sharing with us a preview of the upcoming season, the fall and winter 2015. There gonna be epic colors which has been the talk of the town world in these few months. Colors such as orange, plum and fuchsia are here, yes, here...soon.

The highlight of the event is their captivating intense volume, magnetic black mascara, called, Cils d'Enfer So Volume.

Around 80% and above, women found that particular mascara to be long lasting in term of volume, intense color, satisfying curl, easy application, supple lashes finish, satisfying hold, and all of the above are tested beyond 11 hours.

Alongside comes the makeup set, the palette of eyeshadow, lipsticks, and lip glosses. Guerlain also carries lip primer, liquid eyeliner and gorgeous packaging.

In this opportunity, the recent La Petite Robe Noire also come and makes everything fresh with La Petite Robe Noire Eau Fraiche. In green, as in pistachio green, since France is all about pistachio now. from clothing, food to beauty products.

And of course, the highlight of the event, meet Mr. Jose Luis Yuve, a Guerlain Make-Up Artist, and member of the International Art Team.

A chatty person who loves to share about makeup and beauty products in general. He is not someone who avoid conversation that touches other brand, he openly talks about the competitor and why Guerlain is his favorite.

Since we have to take turn in talking to him one by one, I took the opportunity to walk around and took pictures...while playing with the products too. They are there to be tested, right (gleefully saying those words)?!

Let's start with the eyeshadow, Ecrin 1 Couleur, long lasting eyeshadow, silky powder texture. Sold as singles and comes in this comforts of softness and lightness with three finishes, matte, metallic, or satin.

...Colour is given full expression with crystalline pigment. The shades are pure and intense from the very first application. Then, I look back to the mascara and found it's unique shape and material for the wand. It is like rubbery and flexible. The pointy brush looks sharp, I'll share with you soon my review on the product when used.

An eyeliner. A black liquid eyeliner, the one that Mr. Jose loves so much and one of his favorite of all time.

Then, I come across to two lip glosses one in pink and the other in this beautiful pearly soft milky coral color. The texture of the products is so smooth, silky and the glossiness is beautiful.

Rouge G de Guerlain

Mr. Jose also share with us the story behind the photo shoots and products used. This year, Mr. Jose emphasize on looking young and fresh. I guess it's like the new variant of Petite Robe Noire itself, fresh!

CC Cream. My eyes are on it. Blanc de Perle, or white pearl cc cream. The one to be used right after skincare and before foundation, or for a more natural look, use a powder after the cc cream and be done with it.

As seen below, it add shines to the skin, a healthy glow shine with a soft color correcting effect that matches all skin tone. It's a one tone fits all where the cc cream blends nicely on the skin and has this smooth, soft and wonderful texture, oh yes, Guerlain's products has this indescribable texture that you can only understand me after trying it on your skin. And again, Mr. Jose is singing about the orange, and this time, it's the lip gloss in orange, the one that add the sexy vibe in every look.

Orange hibiscus too, a lip liner with (again) amazing texture. I'm in love!! It's like crayon but super smooth and I feel like I want to use it all over the lips and not just as a liner. It is matte and velvety. Luxurious and it made me feel sexy when applying the product.

The lip liner also comes in many shades but this year, it's orange. So every year, Guerlain will launch new shades on their existing collection.

Here's how Mr. Jose shows me how every look can be sexy with a touch of orange lip gloss, either chic (according to him, chic is red lips), glam (glam is pink), and nude, added with orange lip gloss become sexy chic, sexy glam and sexy nude.

We also did an one on one consultation where he share his ideas on the best look for me, a look that I want is for night time and chic in mind.

I love how his ideas are simple, applicable yet looks really good, I can see my self on those colors.

What do you think?! They look so pretty right?! And the one that I'm using below is Excessive Rose. When it's gliding on my lips, it was super duper soft and smooth, like liquid silk. All of the chaps, lines, uneven tone, are gone and covered well. The highly pigmented and brilliant gloss like liquid vinyl. This is perhaps the best lipstick I've tried.

Clozette Beauty Blogger Gathering with We Chat, WRP, and Silkygirl

Hello everyone!!!

I'm back with another exciting gathering with Clozette Indonesia. This time, they collaborate with We Chat, WRP, and Silkygirl.

Located at hot HongKong Cafe (thanks to the dying air conditioner), Clozette Ambassadors and members has gathered and we all excited about the event we're going to have, since Priskila Eirene is here to teach us how to make a simple video tutorial.

From the basic tool to free apps she recommend for any beginner to start with. She explained everything clearly and with ease.

Her tips includes:
Invest in a good tripod, always take a video in a panorama view, find a lovely background, if not, a plain white will do. Avoid making video in the bathroom. When possible use proper lighting and sun will always be a free and wonderful option.

Free apps you can use are Splice for Apple products and Viva Video for Android.

We also get a chance to make a short video during the event and she helps us understanding each process.

It is best to make a short video instead of a long one, a tutorial under 3 minutes gets more hits than the ones longer. Make short videos and then combine them into one. Edited them one by one to get that right period. Use audio or record your voice in the editing process. If needed use a microphone for a clearer voice.

Combined the videos all together to make one video. If you prefer to have music, always use the one that doesn't have copyright issue.

The next event is with WRP.

WRP are known as weight reduction program by dieting. They are not promoting self hunger but more to selective diet and counting calories. They support plans, products and nutritionist as well on their WRP centers.

For me, beauty is an evolving ideas that wont and never stop on one thing. From the first makeup used by Egyptian, to enhance ones beauty to fit something that are agreeable by the society.

As we all know, society changes, people changes, makeup trends never last a decade and we all love to come up with something new and exciting. And here's a great news that comes with our original state of a never satisfied species, everything that you feel so trendy and hype at the moment, they too shall pass.

So? What are we supposed to do in terms of beauty and everything related to beauty?

Watch, observe, learn and best of all, look onto yourselves in the mirror and if you like what you see at that moment, then that's your beauty rule. If not, let's improve. Try new things, learn new techniques on makeup application or consult to those who really know you.

I always love skincare and maintaining a good skin condition since it is the base of any look we wants to come up with. I was once told that our skin is something that we 'wear' everyday, that's why it is has to be in the best condition all the time. It is not easy, but it can be done. At least, in their best condition most of the time.

My beauty rules start from a thoroughly clean skin using the correct products for the skin at that moment. There are some basic rules that I know regarding which product to be used. A dry skin is best cleaned with a foaming facial wash while oily skin are best to be cleaned with a cleansing oil. This is due to the origin of skin itself.

Double cleansing is needed when one using makeup, a sun protection is also taken as makeup, so do a proper cleansing when using a product that contain sunscreen. Pay attention on the details on each product before using it and how to use it properly.

Never go to bed with a dirty skin since it will blocked the pores and create problems in the future.

We all know the benefits of using skincare yet, there's so many products out there in the market. The key is to try before you buy. When testing, pay attention and observe your skin condition, is there any redness occur? Allergic reaction? Sensitivity? Or perhaps other discomfort such as burning sensation and unwanted side effects.

Beauty is never one size fits all, what's work best on your best friends or even your family, doesn't means that it will suits your needs.

Same goes with makeup, a cat eye may appear amazing on your friend's but probably doesn't suits your feature or you need to tweak a bit to get a result that you want. Nowadays makeup is liberating and I'm happy to say that, you can all be yourself.

Whether your eyebrows are thick and bushy, or thin, or shaped like they are just fresh from a salon, you decide. There's so many products and tools we can use, or go none, as you decide whats work best for you.

The thing is, a lot of people want to achieve a certain look yet doesn't know how to get there. With social medias and internet nowadays, you can simply google a certain type of look or tutorial for that matter. There's always someone who happen to have a similar condition and passion like you do. If not, why not make it your own.

I remember a friend of mine have a very sensitive skin none of the common products in the market matches her skin's condition, if there is, the price usually quite high. So she make her owns. It took her months learning on the ingredients, trial and error on the making and finally now she can enjoy skincare and toiletries that promote healthier skin. If she can uses them, everyone can.

We all heard, there's plenty of roads to Rome. So does makeup and beauty and perhaps everything else in life. I also know a women who rarely uses skincare and makeup but she eats only what's fresh, maintain a healthy lifestyle by exercising and always stays positive with a healthy mind, she looks gorgeous event without makeup on.

Perhaps, makeup should be treated only as a decorative factor, not as a coverage of our natural state but help emphasizing our true beauty. While beauty is different from place to place, so does from time to time, and it's sometime not related to beauty products. Like when someone laugh or smile, they appear more beautiful, or the way they act, showing kindness and passion to others, it is all beautiful. Because if it's something from the heart, it's a true beauty from within that no beauty products can ever be.

Beauty require respect, efforts, patience and most of all a kind heart.

When we are hand in hand with our conscience, the beauty from within will flows.

But there's nothing wrong is using beauty products or the urge to use cosmetics, a lot of people even seems to be happier and feels more like themselves when using makeup.

The pressure and urge to look our best is actually a good thing as well as it can help us to be better and present ourselves better in the society. It is not a secret that people would accept those who looks better in terms of appearance. Many beauty and personality classes nowadays so we can look our best. Who determine that we already look our best? I think, the answer is yourself.

I look my best when my skin is hydrated, radiant and doesn't have any discomforts. I look my best when I am healthy and in a peaceful condition with those surrounds me. I look my best when I'm happy with what I see in the mirror, even when it is different from day to day. One day I love my red lips when the next day is all about nudes.

I love my eyes to be as dark as nights when sometime spring also come and decorated them with colors of the flowers.

Beauty is what your heart wants you to portray and it is described well enough on what's on the outside. And that's my beauty rule.
