Maybelline Pulse Perfection Waterproof Vibrating Mascara

The ad is so alluring but when I open it....it's not golden, it's just black, no biggy, for me it's the function that meet the eye. After all I always prefer black anytime for a mascara.





When I first open the box I read the instruction, it is said I have to snatch that tiny plastic so the battery can work its magic....and vibrate.

Bzzzzzzz, it was intense at first, a bit shock for me, the tiny brush feels sharp if I accidentally touch the root of my lashes, so be careful okay. I think I like it more if the brush is a bit longer.




For the vibrating itself? Love it. No lumps, no awful gunk, it's just easy breezy application that slide perfectly on my lashes. No need to move zig zag, just roll it! The color stay on long....it is waterproof...but it can easily cleaned with a warm water. I like that it feels light on the lashes, I hate that some other mascara feels so heavy and clumps here and there, with Maybelline Pulse Perfection Waterproof Vibrating Mascara my problems are buzzing away.

Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo

What it is:

How to prevent clogging:
-Shake can well prior to and during each usage. If this is not done, solids that fall to the bottom of the can travel through the tube and clog the valve.
-If the product becomes clogged or does not spray, take off the actuator (nozzle) and wash it with hot water.
-Dry well and place nozzle back on the stem.
-Shake can and depress the actuator upside-down. If it sprays it means the valve is not clogged. If it does not spray the valve is clogged.
-If the problem persists gently squeeze the can. If it collapses easily there is no gas, meaning the product has been completely used.

My review: It ain't pretty.

It does on certain level helps the oily scalp due to lack of shampooing to dry a bit but it is still not as good as real time shampooing. Even far. I've tried doing it accordingly, spray less and comb more, it's just doesn't work for me. The white powder residue is embarrassing. I better looked like someone who haven't take a shower for days that look like a powdered head. I wish they have the black color or any other dark color, so it doesn't make me look like an old granny. Even nowadays grannies colored their hair dark.

The only good thing about this product is they don't contain any harmful chemical.

My tips: If you are blonde or have white hair, go ahead, use it but still be careful don't inhale the products, it's bothers me more than the white powdery spots on my head.

Long isn't it?! Well here's my review:

It work! Just like I say in the top of the post, it feels tight. Not as in squeaky tight but as in appearance. Less saggy for me and those fine print which was made since I laugh a lot disappears. I look younger (yes, it's possible).

I really like the scent, it is fresher than the other (Estee Lauder products that I have). It is a white creamy gel that absorb fast on skin than are cleaned and prepared (with lotion).

Since the product is Ophthalmologist-tested I feel safe to use it around eyes area which are delicate and tend to have more fine lines. I love how it rejuvenate my look instantly too (my eyes are the window to my soul). More good news is since the product is for ALL skin type, I recommend it for everyone since we all live in an aging world.

My review:

I use it during my 11 days trip to Europe for a winter getaway. Yes, it is a getaway not a holiday, for me a holiday is legit after more than 2 weeks.

It was creamy as it creme de la creme would be. Looks heavy and thick. The color is a mix between milk. nude and a very pale pink (which is very thin). the smell is rather heavy for me, but I've used Estee Lauder before and my mum also a user, so it's a distinctive signature scent of Estee Lauder may I say.

As my finger touch it I feel it is a bit (like teeny tiny) difficult to scoop it, a small spoon would do the trick, and when it glide on my skin guess what?! It melt like a soft snow on my skin. Isn't it lovely? Who would have guess a seemly thick creme could change into liquid within a touch. It absorb so easily and to my surprise no oily effect afterwards.

Usually during my winter holiday my skin scream for being too dry, my make up blur and it feels awful, like cracking here and there. With Ultra Firming Creme it feels like my skin stays on tropical island where humidity is their best friend. It is so moist and dewy all day long. And the SPF 15 is another level for protection. The sun rays can bounce on snow you know, so always use a good sun protection wherever you are.




Now for the lifting effect....hmm I'm still 30 so there not much to lift (no objection on this, please) but still my skin looks firmer than before I use the creme. For the radiance? It glows. The pic above is my sis and I, we both use Estee Lauder Resilience Lift Extreme Ultra Firming Creme SPF 15 and our skin look and feel great! It feels comfortable. Don't you just love a smooth holiday?

This slightly cloudy liquid smell exactly the same as the foaming cleanser, not to my delight but the effect is still very good too (like the rest of the range). It helps preparing my skin for serum and moisturizer. I don't use serum often now, only at night, but the lotion is perfect for both.

Tips: I use a cotton pad and smoothly swipe them over through my face then I put on my serum + moisturizer (or just moisturizer alone). I must say it make quite a difference if I skip this step, the serum and moisturizer doesn't absorb as good as when I used it. So don't skip up.

And here's what I thought: True every word of what they describe it would be. I used it on morning and afternoon shower plus at night if I went out. I like my face clean and supple, it does that!

I'm not a big fan of the scent for me it's flower mix musk feels too grown-up for me...perhaps I'm just a little girl inside ^.* I love fruity flowery scent that smell so fresh....well anyway, beside the scents everything else works like a charm.

I live in South East Asia country where it is sunny and humid all year long and travel a lot. From dry countries to cold winters, been there, done that. And the 'magic' of Soft Clean Moisture Rich Foaming Cleanser is there for me. I got a combination skin but it still work for me. I don't feel oily and definitely not tight and dry even on dry winter or......dry air con air.

I spend a lot of time in air con room even when I'm not traveling, where plane, hotels and weather got their effects on my skin, so I need a cleanser that though yet gives the moisture and calmness for a perfect dewy skin.

I've used it within the range, the whole lotion, serum and moisturizer and without them. It is still great. The pearly white creamy gel bubbles up easily, lather up smoothly and feels so soft afterwards. I know it was made for dry skin, but my combination skin feels happy too.

Flying with Malaysia Airlines

On the 14th of January I went to Amsterdam from Singapore via Kuala Lumpur with Malaysia Airlines. This is the first time I took Malaysia Airlines for a 13 hours flight. I've been taking long flights with Garuda Airlines and Singapore Airlines before and yep....I know which one I should avoid now.

I say SQ is my top airlines in terms of service, space, and quality from the aircraft to entertainment. Garuda new flight is also very good, comparable to SQ (woo hoo). Malaysia Airlines for me is the 'budget' flight to Amsterdam. Tight space, some broken handles, so-so food, no extra care such as long flight 'goody-bag', it's just basic, like C- or at-least-you-pass-your-exam-kind -a-thing. I don't even bother to take a pic which I regret it now...at least I got some evidence.

Despite all of it surprisingly, one of the flight attendance was very pleased knowing that me and my sis (who was on the plane) are from Indonesia and the only Indonesian there on that flight. She started to 'warm up' and become so friendly. Before, she was so cold and seems reluctant to seeks passenger needs, I can see most (like all) of them do. They never smile, they always answer passengers request like they are forced to and it seems like they are tired...exhausted to be exact.

Most of the passenger are asleep, like I am. Since the flight start at night and arrived at Schipol around 6 am. So we only wake up during meals. The snack in between is poor, like a pack of nuts, kit kat, crackers, etc. It was dry and seriously boring. The meals choice seems appetizing, but no matter what we choose (me and my sis, we always choose different meal so we can compare) the result is the same, disappointing. Overcooked, too dry, too bland, small portion, or the taste ain't right. We just eat to survive from hunger, we miss Singapore Airlines or Garuda Indonesia at meals time the most.

We glad when it landed, finally we can eat real food! Oh did you know that after taking a very long flight my hair that usually a bit wavy become flat like a flat iron have been on them for hours....really ^0^.

Being Silenced

For a little more than a month I've been vacuum now. I just moved to Jakarta and adjusting my life, not to forget a 11 day Europe trip I took last week, so pretty much settling down now. I'm not terminating my blog, it'll keep going on and share my experience.

My First Laser Treatment

Thanks to Singapore Women's Weekly magazine, I was able to try this unique experience. A laser treatment that cost 700$ to rejuvenate the skin.... 0.0, yup, seven hundred dollars as in Singapore dollar.

Atlas Medical called me about a month ago to make an appointment that I finally able to fulfill last week.

REVLITE Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser

This is a dual wavelength laser (532nm and 1064nm) using Q-switched technology. With the REVLITE, which is a much improved and advanced version of the familiar MEDLITE series, peak power has been increased by up to 60%. This allows for effective treatment in a controlled and safe manner.

In particular, REVLITE has been demonstrated in studies to be very effective against Melasma, and as an excellent skin rejuvenation tool. As I was walking around his clinic, which really doesn't look like a clinic at all, instead it was very well decorated, a romantic chic that's very classy.

On the walls is his achievements, featured magazines, newspapers, etc.





Really look like a living room to entertain the clients, from TV, magazines is all there. Existing clients can have their meal and drinks ordered for them. Wow! Talked about service. The ambiance is pretty much relaxing and serene.









Inside one of the room to cleanse my facial skin, a soothing music and lights are on. I guess it is relaxing time. But I could not help but wonder, would it be painful, you know, before something shocking happen, they ought to calm my nerves first.

Then the lady help put on some numbing cream for me (more Oh O!) Is it gonna be that pain that they need to put on some numbing cream on?????

They told me to wait for the cream to work.....I wait....nervously.




Then the lady wipe the cream away, took some before picture and send me to the laser room. Not much different from this room above, it's just the light is brighter, soon Dr. SM Yuen come and explain to me about the laser, how it's going be, the function (like mention above), after effect, etc. So the treatment I'm going to get is just a rejuvenation, and if I want more result it can not be done in one treatment.

So here it is:
It was a breeze, it does have a warm tingling sensation and like a smell of burned hair, which it is. My fine hair are burned alright due to the laser. But instead of hearing many people claim that laser are scary, very painful, burned their facial skin, etc, IS NOT TRUE.

When it was done by a pro and in a correct way it should be helpful and beneficial for our skin, like the one I just had. The immediate effect that I feel is smooth and the skin feels tighter. On the next day I feel that it was smoother and dewy-er. Beside of avoiding the sun for 2 weeks, using an antibiotic cream for for that night of the treatment is recommended.

About the sun, it's not necessarily means stay indoor at all cost, just don't over exposure like going to the beach and stay there from 10 AM to 2 PM to get a tan. Moderate daily life in and out of building and sunblock is adequate....for me.

Conclusion: If I have money to spare, I'll definitely treat myself for a laser treatment that promote faster result and when I see other client, their skin are to envy for, so why not?!
