Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free Toner by Kiehl's

Attending and participating in Kiehl's seminar or just come to their store means getting samples, and do you know the power of samples? It means you have the chance to get to know the products, introducing the ingredients to your skin or hair, feel and understand how it can make a differences. Companies that gives you samples have value of their own, they cherish and believe that theirs are simply wonderful and the more you know them, the more you'll fall in love in them.

And I'm in the step of getting to know Kiehl's better and falling in love. They are like these old fashion apothecary that use natural ingredients as medicine, in this term, skincare 'medicine' . . . or perhaps without the need of brackets, they are medicines for our skin and hair problem. They are developing in texture, technology and how it can perform better on our outer layer.

So, whenever you have the chance to try them, why not? Give yourself a chance and try them. Careful thou' you might get addicted to their stuff thou'.

Okay, I'm gonna start reviewing the samples on me start with their Toner. Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free Toner.  The smell is definitely like Caladine lotion (sorry, didn't meant to name another brand it's just it . . . does). This green watery liquid is refreshing to my skin, it helps tones up the skin and one of the KCR's told me toner helps to diminished the bad effect of water . . . especially polluted water in Jakarta perhaps?!

My skin is normal to dry and by me using the Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free Toner means it is delicate and like it is said on the packaging, for all skin type including the dry and sensitive too. So, you are running our of excuses not to try this one. I think it's one of my favorite items from Kiehl's and definitely the best refreshing toner for dry skin.

L'Occitane Repairing Conditioner with 5 Essential Oils

My review:

The texture is light and I feel doubt, how come a simple light conditioner makes a big difference? It does. In one use you can easily noticed, see and feel the difference, oh, where can I begin?! I use the dry-est effect shampoo possible for the hair yet, this magical conditioner turns my hair so soft and relaxed in one go, when it is still wet I can feel my hair untangled, and the gorgeous scents was amazing. Love love love. It feels natural and it stays there, the scents ain't gone in 5 minutes, it stays with me for hours.

During drying I always use a hot hair dryer and my hair feels ultra soft, I usually put on some serum for the ends to help create softer hair and protected ends plus adding the glow, now I don't have to. Using L'Occitane Repairing Conditioner rescue me from all the hassle, a simple conditioner that gives me a soft, smooth, healthier, smell great, and glowing hair locks from the first use.

the scents is fresher compared to the lotion yet this light conditioner still able to give a smooth hair a smooth finish. I must say for my hair where chemical treatment has happened I want something more than a light conditioner, this product will suit those who are blessed with normal hair condition or even kids. The natural ingredients will definitely benefit the hairs. It does gives your hair a fresh feeling but not volume. Perfect for citrus lover!

L'Occitane Verbena Body Lotion

Thanks to my sis-in-law, I was able to try on L'Occitane Verbena Body Lotion.

The lotion is a mixture between light and creamy, you can smell the citrus, but can be overwhelm by a bit of sour scents in between. I wish it could be fresh-er. The lotion can easily absorb on the skin surface after a simple massage, yet provide a medium coverage of moisturization-effect. Which is suitable for a daily use in summer or tropical islands like Indonesia all year long. Funny thing is the more you massage the lotion in, the more citrus-ey scents will come out. The moist effect last for up to 12 hours. Great thing about L'Occitane is their natural ingredients you can count on, so the essentials oils is where the fragrance's from. Yummy!

Shout Your Voice for UNICEF

Come to the Voice Box at Plaza Senayan near ZARA. Kiehl's Seminar on 30th July, 2011 and My Sis Mini Facial

Kiehl's is having another seminar, this time is about the difference between men and women's skin. Yes, we all know they are different, but how different it is and whether they really need different products for their skin. The seminar start at 3.

Since me and my sis come from 2, we are making a bit of mini facial for her using products that suitable for her skin's need. Do you know you can do this at any of Kiehl's store and the friendly KCR's can assist you, so you know which products suitable for you and you actually try them on your facial skin. And I remembered that one of Kiehl's policy is try before you buy, neat!

So after a brief consultation, my sis was given a chance to try on Yerba Mate cleanser that is gentle on her skin yet have numerous function to maintain healthy young looking skin. My sis said her skin feels fresh and a bit cooling effect too, but overall it is comfortable, clean but not squeaky clean. Wonderful!

Then she use the Rare Earth Masque that help clean the pores and tightened them up, so you'll look smooth:

Back to my sister, look how happy she is, now she is using the lotion of Yerba Mate followed by UV protection. These light lotions is easily absorb without a fuss. You'll love how comfortable they feel on your skin.

This is my sis before and after pic, what so great about it? On the before pic she was using makeup, and on after she didn't! Yet, the mini facial was able to create a skin with finer looking pores, fresh and well, healthier. So, still need makeup?

Bakerzin Special Menu for Ramadhan

On Saturday my family and I visited Bakerzin Plaza Senayan and we are greeted with their new menus which is for Ramadhan month. From meals to desserts and collections of snacks with or without beverage.

Then it's time for me to choose the meals we would like to eat, good news for my husband is he is all about Indonesian food, he's not a big fan of western meals, so when local cuisines comes around, he's definitely up for it.

After placing our orders which is hot tea, fruits flavored tea which is an absolute delight in a hot days like these, summer salad, chicken with peanut sauce, and pepes dory fish. We waiter around 10 minutes and the drinks comes in a jiffy.

I can say you will never go wrong choosing any of their salad here, I always love the presentation and . . .

how scrumptiously fresh they are. Love the sweet balsamic dressing, one of the must try items followed by their pear salad and Caesar salad. You can easily top up with any protein available, and oh yes, salmon lover, they have salmon salad for you . . . maybe someday they will add ceviche on the menu, hopefully ^_^

My pepes dory fish is presented, love the abundant fresh veggies on the side and cube tomatoes on the fish. But I think I need more kick in the flavoring, I'm a typical Indonesian that love flavor, the good news thou, kids can dive in too since they are not hot.

The fish is fresh and not a bone found in it, which means a pleasant meal all over, the rice could be more soft and succulent, it's a bit dry for us. If let say they add sauce or dressings, this meal would be a winner.

 

And this is my husband's chicken in peanut sauce. The chicken is so tender and picky eater can enjoy this meal without having a fuss since you can divide everything using the pressure with a spoon. Not spicy at all, so the meal is suitable for tender palate and kids too.
