Kiehl's Aromatic Blend

How are you? It's been almost a week since my last post, I've been traveling a bit and so busy with Indonesian Beauty Blogger (IBB), do you know we have a lot of things prepared for the members in IBB? The Monthly Make Up Challenge is already on and soon another giveaway ^0^ so my schedule is packed like nuts, but still, I won't missed sharing this great news about the latest range from Kiehl's: The Aromatic Blends .... yums!!!

What's so special about the Aromatic Blends from Kiehl's? From the naturally derived and sustainably sourced ingredients the scents comes in 4 range: Orange Flower & Lychee, Vanilla & Cedarwood, Fig Leaf & Sage, Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit.

When I arrived at the event, it's already started, the media and bloggers are so keen and pay attention to all the details given. That's Priscilla in white shirt. The settings is somewhat like in a tent with African jungle surroundings. So earthy.

A presentation from Givaudan explaining about the notes inside the perfume. Later, we are able to make our own perfume, this is so exciting!

Givaudan provided some scents there, Orange Flower, Lychee, Sandalwood, Honey, Plum, and a few more. I made mine with the freshness of Lychee, the beautiful Orange Flower, Plum, and the sweetness and warmth from Honey.

 


Fig & Sage,

Fig Leaf & Sage: A stimulating fusion of Fig Leaf and Sage with underlying hints of bergamot, citron and thyme. The notes of fig conjure up images of the south of France with its lush countryside, where an unusually distinctive fig essence renowned for its uniquely fresh green, crisp aroma is found.  This fig aroma was blended with the essence of herbaceous sage - an evergreen herb with a sweet, nutty scent, evocative of the northern Mediterranean coast.

Every scent comes in a range of Shower Gel, Lotion and Spray.

Aromatic Blends features four unique scents, each of which is complete with a fragrance, skin softening body cleanser, and skin softening body lotion. Use your Aromatic Blends cleanser, lotion, and fragrance spray for an enhanced sensorial experience.
Cleanser: For use in the shower, apply cleanser directly to a wet body sponge or washcloth; or, foam up several palmfuls over the body and rinse off. For use in the bath, allow two or three capfuls (or more, if desired) to disperse under running bath water for a sheerly delightful foaming bath experience.
Lotion: Apply after bath, shower or anytime, as often as necessary. Gently massage this skin softening lotion into dry body areas. Allow to remain and soak in several minutes before dressing.

And how does Fig & Sage according to my senses? Sorry, I don't like it. It's too ... traditional, too countryside for me and an unfamiliar countryside to be exact. Perfume is indeed personal so find the one that not just smells good on you, but brings those memories as well. Fig & Sage is definitely not for me, how about the others?

The result? 3 out of 4 is my favorite and I use them every day.

Start with Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit.

Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit: A surprising blend of Nashi Blossom and Pink Grapefruit, accented by ginger and rounded out with soothing notes of soy milk and white musk.  This harmonious aroma evokes imagery of the Kyoto Gardens in Japan - a peaceful place where dewy, white flowers of this pear often flourish.  This fresh, floral aroma was mixed with the Brazilian-born Pink Grapefruit, which heightens the sensory experience with a rich sweet scent, imbued with hints of tropical Mandarin Orange.

This is the first scent that actually captures me and easily loved. The scent is fresh, delightful and an easy pleaser. The whole family love it from the first spritz. Like I found myself in the middle of a spring in a flower garden. The fresh fruits and flower scent is collaborating beautifully. Instant rejuvenation and uplifting the feeling. Perfect for a day perfume and whenever I'm feeling down.

Next is Vanilla & Cedarwood.

Vanilla & Cedarwood: A seductive fusion of Ugandan Vanilla and Cedarwood, heightened with a hint of iris, which gives way to rich amber.  The creamy vanilla in our blend owes its unique aromatic character to the exotic vanilla orchid grown on small, sustainable farms in Uganda.  This warm and sensual aroma was fused with smoky Cedarwood to add a complex, balsamic character - reminiscent of tobacco farms in the southern United States.

And I love it. It's like very warm and comforting, like those nights when it's cold outside and I'm snuggling inside my blankets, watching a TV with my family, a Christmas show in a lovely eve right before Christmas. It brings a whole lotta memories for me and I found it irresistible wonderful. Contradiction from the Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit, like day and night.





Last is Orange Flower & Lychee,

Oooh! From the ingredients alone, you'll notice the juicy fruits.

Orange Flower & Lychee: An exotic fusion of Orange Flower and Lychee sweetened with a touch of honey and rounded out by Moroccan Rose. Our Orange Flower extract is derived from the Bitter Orange tree - a tree known for producing flowers with an especially distinctive orange scent. This unique scent was combined with a fruity-floral infusion of Lychee, found in the subtropical forests of Southeast Asia.

Sweet! Delightfully sweet. Familiar and easy to be recognized as well as in Asia lychee drinks are everywhere heehee! I found it to be unisex and a great universal gift as most people do like the scent and according to the KCR in one of the branch of Kiehl's, this is the favorite scent. It's just the one that couldn't go wrong since the fresh juice is always welcome.

I've mentioned that each scent comes with lotion and shower gel as well, using all in one range will enhance the scent to be deeper and last longer, but I've tried with different scents and it creates this layers of multitude ingredients that's unique and fun.

I've used the Orange Flower & Lychee Shower Gel and Lotion. The perfume? Vanilla & Cedarwood. I like how the warmth starts at first and over the hours goes by, comes the juicy scent from the Orange Flower & Lychee.

The shower gels and lotions I've tried is from Orange Flower & Lychee and Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit. Both of the shower gel lathers easily and feels soft to the skin. Cleanse without drying. The lotions also gives my skin a rich pampering feeling without being too greasy or overwhelming. It gives my skin protection and hydration almost all day long.

New Dove Whitening Original Anti-Perspirant Deodorant

Heehee, a sensitive subject is here, deodorant vs body odor. As someone who do have body odor, I become very conscious about my scent. I always have perfumes on my bag and occasionally check certain areas for being smelly or not. Yes, the underarm. The roots of some people social problems =^_^=

Some just getting a hang of it after going through puberty and boo ya! Went home as stink as a stink bug. It happens, it just happens. Hormones, bacteria, sweats, it all takes part. I'm just glaring at some people who doesn't have body odor in full glance of either envy or awe.

I have many deodorants at home, tried various brands, type, texture and prices too. Expensive products doesn't always works! I've bought a 30$ organic deo that hmm, too friendly, not just to the environment but for the bacteria on the area as well. It doesn't work.

Does this aerosol deodorant powder from Dove works? It does!

I use it daily for the past few weeks now, and it never fails. I dislike the powdery effect on the air (when sprayed) but love it on the underarm. Careful not to inhale it, watch out not to spray it near food, kids, babies, animals, etc. The wonderful soothing scent of Dove is there ^_^ it brings back the whole memory of Dove, I think I like it better than the roll on, since the aerosol deo powder is not sticky at all, no need to wait for it to dry as it dries instantly and smells better too, fragrant of the signature scent of Original Dove.

Does it have a whitening effect? It definitely doesn't have a darkening effect for sure since my underarm stays the same color as usual, not dark.

Does it really stays 24 hours? No. But it stays with me for 12 hours on normal activity. Vigorous sports and exercise with a lot of sweats will decrease the number hours of effectiveness.

Moisturizing effect? Hmm, can't tell the difference from other deo I've used heehee. But definitely doesn't make the area feels too dry.

Do I keep using it? Yes! For the scent, the immediate dry effect unlike roll on and the staying power (for me 12 hours is very very good).

Those who knows me and sees me frequently must have known that my hair need help. Constant coloring, previous perming and daily hair drying takes their tolls on my hair. It was around 3 hours and since my hair need a bit touch up, they add some colors after the treatment which is like a mask, so far away from sting, pain and smell bad (the treatment smells like acid and I coughs numerous times but unlike other chemicals). Overall, it was wonderful.

Kudos to all the products, no allergy, irritated scalp and angry hair afterwards, it's just that the trainer who did my hair was very powerful, combed my scalp (yes scalp, not hair), he yanked my hair numerous time even thou' I repeatedly asked him to be gentler, and I screamed once when he accidentally leave the hair drier too long on one part, it was painfully hot. Beside those incidents with the trainer, the products are indeed highly appreciable. 

And below is me right after the treatment.





The hair seems flat due to the straightening iron, I was kinda worry but they assured me that it wont be this flat after a wash in ... 48 hours. Yes, we are not allowed to wash hair immediately or the next day.

They gave me this Shampoo and Conditioner for after the treatment. I use them 48 hours after the treatment and everyday since.

how to use

After shampooing, apply the conditioner to wet hair and leave on for 3 minutes. Comb through hair and rinse thoroughly.


Both of them have a deep rich scent of oils. A hint of flower and musk too. Delicate, soft, kinda powdery and the effect is what I'm looking for. A soft and smooth hair. The Shampoo doesn't lather much at first, so I repeat and the every time it's like that, it has to be repeat to get an abundant foaming effect. Is it because my scalp is oily, or my hair is 'that' dirty?

I washes my hair every day and uses the conditioner every day too, they are lovely. I'm bored with the scent heehee but I love love love the effect so much.





Here's my hair after a week, still softer and smoother but definitely not as flat as right after the treatment. I received many compliments as the hair looks healthier, shines and far less frizzy. I see the vivid difference after using the products for weeks, it help the skin to retains moisture better and longer. I think those suffering with dry skin may see the differences in one wash. Since the skin is hydrated it become calmer, less irritated and more supple. Still, a body lotion is needed after the shower/bath time, I recommend the Fresh Body Lotion for those with normal skin and those who need more protection may use other variant such as Indulgent Nourishment.

Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip Color and Mega Slicks Lip Gloss

They sent me a bunch of Mega Last Lip Color (3) in Pink Suga (900B), Think Pink (901B) and Red Velvet (910D).

Mega Slicks Lip Gloss (5) in 568 (Bronze Berry), 562B (Cherry Glaze), 579A (Seedless Watermelon), 577A (Red Sesnsation), 566 (Strawberry Ice).

Let's see how are they doing on my lips.

MEGA SLICKS™ LIP GLOSS

Super-shiny gloss adds luster and color to lips, while Vitamins A & E moisturize and condition.

Bronze Berry

Hmm, it was like a burst of butter candy poking me, delicious, sweet and wonderful. No, no, do not lick it, there's no actual sweetness on the gloss. It's buttery and very glossy, bronze glossy with a touch of dark red.

in Red Sensation

One of my favorite shade since it does gives my lips more intensity instead just gloss. Shiny with many sparkles on it. Smells like apple candy, rich and buttery too. The feeling is so different than the sheers. Full and a bit sensual on the lips ^__-

Seedless Watermelon

A faint fruity scent with a red sheer gloss that well, gives a sheer watermelon color. But can't be rely on the redness as it was pure gloss.

Cherry Glaze

A slightly pinkish gloss with a faint smell of cherry. The liquid easily leak when applied upside down where later when the cap is closed it will gather on the cap and spills all over.

 

Strawberry Ice

A soft pink with orange, coral. Glossy coral. Thick and felt luxurious on the lips. Smells like cotton candy and add dimension on pink shine when added to the lipstick.

All of the lip gloss are sticky, some sheer, some with heaps of color, some with faint scent while some are delicious. Added gloss to the boring lipstick, some just a sheer/hint of shade while the rest with lot's of attitude.

Now let's see the lipstick.

Pink Suga

A very pale lippie and called pink suga hmm, I can't seem to 'get' the idea of naming it pink suga while it seems like a pale orange/beige. The color resemble a concealer.

Think Pink

A frosty pink, this is one of my favorite, it's just unique and I love how the shade really comes out like intended (like all the color of Mega Last Lip Color I have)

Red Velvet

If red lips like Aurora is all you've ever wanted, and that's what you get from Red Velvet.


All the lipstick of Mega Last Lip Color is matte and pigmented. Feels dry so I wont say it's moisturizing. They are perfect for a theatrical use, stays on in long hours and dramatic effect. Downside: I dislike the packaging since the cap are not that securely fasten even after a click.

I top it off with a lip gloss and the result is wonderful, a gloss that's not just adding some shine but sealed the color on the lips.

Red Velvet with Seedless Watermelon

Snail Therapy 50 BB Cream SPF30 PA+++

Snails products are everywhere nowadays and it seems to be a hit in the town. Snails are known to have a regenerating effect on their ehm, slime.





Details from the packaging:

This BB Cream contains 50% snail secretion filtrate (mucin) that keeps the skin moist and firm by forming a protective film over the skin. It makes the skin healthy and radiant. The massage function of an all in one puff improves your skin's complexion and makes your skin look radiant. Its excellent adherence and coverage function keep your makeup for long hours.

How To Use:

1) To create natural, radiant skin: Open by pulling the cap off, and hold the puff facing downward. Gently press the middle of the container, and dispnece a small amount onto the puff. Apply evently to your face in a massaging motion.

2) To create flawless, transparent skin: Turn the cap until the pointed part appears. Gently press the middle of the container, and dispense a small amount and apply evenly on your face.

On the packaging there's two puff provided, one attached and the other one still in the plastic shown above. Clean the puff after each use with lukewarm water.

I like the packaging, the large tube is big alright, but I don't have to bring it everywhere since the staying power is moderately long, I use it for 5-6 hours and it stays on. I think it can stay on longer too. The multifunction cream that gives coverage and sun protection in the same time is always welcome in my makeup box. I use it daily (daytime). I didn't feel it being oily and let's just say the BB Cream pampers my skin while giving it a nice look too ^__^

Remember that this not that raw material secretive from the snail, so do not jump into your garden and apply the liquid coming out from a snail when you see one. The mucin in the product are already going through some process for hygienic reason and efficacy. So only the important ingredients in the mucin are used.

Below is me using the Snail Therapy 50 BB Cream SPF30 PA+++ with the puff (as I think the attached puff is a unique and wonderful idea)





The BB Cream is light, covers and feels really good. I was pretty afraid at first and heehee it's a secretive from a snail, I'm thinking some gooey....slimy.... errr, just not pretty. Let's just say I'm hesitated at first but the minute it touches my skin, all the hesitation and doubtfulness just melt away. The after image is just me the BB Cream, it felt velvety smooth and any powder haven't been added. Definitely gives me an even skin tone, redness and fine lines are gone and dryness? Unlike other BB cream, the Snail Therapy gives the skin a comfort without drying the skin.

Below is my step by step usage.

The puff started as a light cream colored, then when the BB Cream is out a deeper beige lotion cum cream comes out, I dabbed it on and the puff works so well, the spreading, applying, blending process becomes so easy and for a clean-freak-enthusiast like me, it's the perfect tool to minimize fingers intervention. there are some parts that need small brush or sponge with edges for areas hidden by the sides of the nose and delicates like eye's area.

Overall, it's a must try snail-inspired-contained product where safety and effectiveness shown ^0^ Love it!

Tips: For daily use or a natural look, just add some loose powder on top, no need adding more foundation. Always use a moisturizer before BB Cream (any BB Cream) and if you want some concealer may be added on some part before the BB Cream, it is also possible.

From 10 years ago I've used Dove Body Lotion from abroad and exuberant knowing that Dove Indonesia has embraced the needs of body lotion for our nation, exaggerating? On the contrary. Our skin does need moisturizing on a daily basis, two times a day after taking a shower or a bath to replenish all the lost moisture and there's not a lot of body care product made locally that actually comes in a high quality matters. From those with too much fragrance that will irritated the skin or low quality ingredients that damage the skin when used long term.

I have had my allergies, redness, itchy and angry skin thanks to 'these' lotions and I know for sure, Dove Go fresh Nourishment Body Lotion is not one of them.

Skin is our own barrier that need to be protected by keeping them supple, flexible and hydrated. As long as they are moist, it keep them 'stronger', bouncier, and 'stretchable'. A dry skin can easily 'broke', bleed and the opening may cause infection.

Dove Go Fresh Nourishment Body Lotion have a delicate fresh scent that's mild and definitely not overwhelming, the menthol also feels gentle and doesn't sting. The lotion feels comfortable on the skin, cooling and gives moisturizing effect without being greasy nor oily. My husband and I, we both enjoys this one and may be use for the whole family (except babies ya). I think it's on of the must have item at home ^__^

Colour Glide Lip Colour (14)

Line along the natural line of the lips with Lip Liner before applying Colourglide Lip Colour, to create added definition and extra colour intensity. Applying a lip liner also helps to keep lip colour in tact by preventing feathering..

I use the lip tint from The Body Shop (Click HERE) before the Pink Ginger, I like to use a lip tint before any lipstick so when the lipstick is gone because being wiped away the color are still there.

The Colour Glide Lip Colour is easy to use, cute in packaging (secure and safe too, not easily opened by itself --- this is important especially when it's in the purse), a bit glossy but not so much, kinda semi matte after a while and the color pops out just like intended to be. Not really drying the lips but not so moisturizing either, so it's kinda in the middle.

The staying power is okay, the intensity of color last around 2 hours max and start fading away plus dries up too. Not waterproof and easily cleaned with lip cleanser.

Best features: safe to be use by human and when accidentally eaten licked.

Available for around 30 shades.

My Interpretation of Forest Fairy for IBB Makeup Challenge

Now here's mine, noooooooo I'm not joining the competition, I'm just giving you mine and hope you get inspired by it ^0^

A huge thanks to my little sister, once again she has become my model heehee. Above is her before face.

Start with a mineral foundation by bareMineral in light. I don't need a thick layer of coverage since her skin doesn't have much problem to be covered. Yes, we both have great genes ^^ btw none of these photos are edited, I dislike edited photos, well, minor is okay, but is the changes are major like jawline, nose shape, and bumpy red skin become flawlessly smooth without a trace, it would be just wrong. We should be proud of our-self, it's funny how you met someone on their photo and in actual real live to be the complete opposite. Okay, enough chit chat ^__^

I added some Maybelline Clear Smooth in Natural for those anti sebum protection. Both the powder and the mineral foundation applied using brush. Perfect for a young lady like my sister where she wants the lightness of a makeup without being heavy.

Then I tidied the brow (no plucking, she dislike plucking the eye brows) using Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes for the brows and the lashes are using Too Cool For School Super Glam Volume Up Mascara (blue).

Anna Sui Eye Color Duo 04 used as a based for the liners and lid.

Topped it off with Revlon Colorstay 540 and for the liners? Revlon Colorstay 002 Brown. Easily blend the look where the green takes part as a star. Blend it with light green and creamy yellow base.

The Body Shop Cheek Color 04 with golden sparkles for that fairy dust.

Now the theme starts now, using the brown eye liners as the main twig, heehee, my sis didn't allowed me to give her a branch, so twigs it is.

 Gradually draw leaves one by one with Revlon and Anna Sui. Anna Sui Eyebrow Color Compact in 03 also used as the main lines of the leaves, where the eyeshadows becomes the fillings. 




To add another sparks on the forest theme, Palgantong Brilliant Jelly Shadow in Blue Topaz (BS 45) is added using a lip brush.

Carefully turning the eye lid on the left side as a leave as well. Decorate the hair ehm, she is not a tree, accessorize her hair and put on a costume for that forest fairy overall look.

The lips are smeared with Ceramide Ultra Lipstick from Elizabeth Arden in Honeysuckle.

 Adding some green shadows in the middle part for a touch of green.

And below for a more mysterious look of a forest fairy where all the lips covered in green shadows.
