Playing with Mixing Palette from BeautyGoodsID and Altering Foundationwith Skincare

Hello lovelies,

BeautygoodsID aka Wenny sent me one of her mixing palette, a simple product that you probably already seen it here and there at instagram. Yes, she only sells her items at instagram with an id @BeautyGoodsID

At first, I thought, hmm what am I going to do with this thing? And ideas start popping, something that I really want to do, making my own concoction of makeup base. Mixed with my favorite skincare or other things....curious? Let's check them out.

Start with the most classic of them all, Advanced Night Repair serum and Double Wear foundation. The serum is famous for being so light in texture yet hydrating the skin nicely, and those are the instant effect only, the long term benefit consist of repairing the skin back to it's perfect form. The Double Wear foundation also loved by many for it's great finish, but we all know how quick it dries up and settles. Most makeup artist from Estee Lauder's team will suggest the usage of this dynamic duo together.

What is the difference in using hand as the media or mixing palette, first, the hand has temperature and pores, it will change the texture, even if it's only a slight. The pores will absorb some of it's 'liquid-ness' hence the mixture will become drier faster. The mixing palette has a room temperature, doesn't absorb the products being put on top and last, no messy hands means less germs too.

By mixing these two together, it will gives us more time to blend the product onto the facial skin. This may not be a problem for an expert but for amateurs (like me) extra time means better applications, softer finish and more flawless result.

As seen the palette does not affected the products and solely function as a container, use a brush to blend the products together or I can apply the foundation first followed by the serum during blending.

Take note, there's no differences in preparing the skin before makeup, even thou' there's serum here, it doesn't meant we can skip the skincare routine. Start by cleaning the skin, use toner, serum, moisturizer, wait around 10 minutes or until the skin is ready for makeup and the skincare is absorbed well.

Now, my second concoction is a mixed between serum and drugstore foundation and the third one is facial oil by belif and the drugstore foundie. So one same foundie with 2 possibilities outcome by using 2 different mixture, one, an oil based product, and another a water based product.

The one mixed with water based serum from V10Plus remain it's original form and velvety but the one with facial oil lightens a bit and feels loosen more than the other. On the skin, the foundie mixed with V10Plus set faster, as the water based is easier to be absorbed by the skin, this concoction is perfect for those with normal to dry skin, it added a hint of moisture without being too much.

The foundie mixed with true facial oil is best for those with dry-very dry skin, as the foundie become so moist, but not oily, the true facial oil from belif is wonderful and I can see why this ultra fine oil is loved. The skin will glisten beautifully even with a drugstore foundie like Za.

Now, I'm adding a moisturizer from Hada Labo in the V10Plus mixture, this will make the mixture loosen and create a base like tinted moisturizer. The percentage of the products used will determine how it will be, more foundie means more coverage, less foundie means lighter makeup, suitable for those who doesn't like to use thick makeup. A BB cream can also be made by yourself using skincare, such as serum, moisturizer containing spf and foundation. Some powder may be added as well.

All depends on the brands and ingredients, not all brand is suitable with other products, I know for sure Double Wear foundation from Estee Lauder is best with the ANR alone.

These are the result of a tinted moisturizer, a light coverage with moist effect. You may change the moisturizer according to what you have and the result desired. Here's some tips in choosing moisturizer:
Hydrating moisturizer which focused on adding moisture, usually contain more water will give the skin a natural hydrated look, suitable for almost all skin type.
Anti aging moisturizer, usually thicker and contains oils, will help those with aging signs as the ingredient may 'blurred out' or fills in the lines and wrinkles. Also help promote a better complexion.
Lifting moisturizer, feels a bit rubbery, hence it may not be suitable with a lot of foundie since it will create crease and/or perhaps noodle-ing.
Whitening/brightening moisturizer, helps lightens the tone, best to used for those looking for a fairer skin. Add some sparkles or golden dust, like the sample (way below).

Above is without some sparkles and below is adding some golden dust from IZU. The fine particles is perfect, bigger particle is not advice-able since it will make some gunk instead of nicely blend. No one wants a chunk of golden sparkles in random places.

Ta-da, glowing skin instantly, suitable for those going into special occasion like a wedding.

The possibility is endless, try mix and match your own items at home using this simple mixing palette from @BeautyGoodsID that only cost Rp.75.000.

Cleaning wise? I use a simple makeup remover and they are all gone.

Drop some speedy cleansing liquid directly and using the same brush, mix it up so nothing sticks, use a tissue and wipe them off. I proceed with cleaning it with a dishwashing liquid (just to remove the residue from speedy cleansing liquid) and the mixing palette is good as new.

The brush is clean as well ^__^

Indonesian Beauty Blogger MUC April 2013: Bling It On

Hi everyone,

as always IBB has come with another makeup challenge not to be missed ^__^ This month's theme is Bling It On, inspired by diamante and products that's on the stake is from NYX. You got to won a set of hampers worth Rp.500.000. There will be two winner as always so the total prize is Rp.1000.000.

Don't forget the staffs of IBB and past winners are not allowed to participate.

So, as a staff myself, I'm just going to share my version of Bling It On.

Above is my before look, so plain ^__^

A pre-cleanse skin with toner, serum and moisturizer.

Step 1:

Using an All In One BB Cream from The Body Shop in 02. A little bit too dark for my skin tone but I'll compensate it with a fair Cyber White EX compact from Estee Lauder which is a bit too light on me.

The BB Cream starts as white cream and by dabbing it all over the skin, they'll turn into skin tones accordingly.

After the BB Cream is well spread.

Step 2. To finish off the base I'm using compact by Estee Lauder by using the sponge and carefully blend everything well since sometime it can be cakey. But by adding Revlon loose powder somehow they are able to create a harmony.

Step 3.

Using a highlighter, bronzer and shading all in one with that famous item from The Body Shop. Which I think wonderful and able to give me an enhance cheek bone. Shaping the face to be more contoured than before.

Step 4:

Adding some blush action for that healthy perky rosy glow also using a product from The Body Shop.

Eye shadow and eye brow pencil from ZA

NYX, The Curve, an eyeliner with unique shape and design which made using eyeliner easier. The curvy tool made the hand stay steadier while during application deliver rigid line. So don't try to do a straight line all the way. Make small lines and connect them that smooth lines above the eyes.

Below is the result. Since the look focusing near the eyes area, I'm making a slightly longer lines with a wink upward.

Using an eyelash curler from Shu Uemura only to help the lashes to curls.

Before the final step which is decorating, colored eye lenses, and fake lashes, I use the lip gloss from The Body Shop, it smells berry-licious but found to be quite sticky.

I hope it add some tiny bling on the look thou'

By using eyelash glue, I add some bling on forehead. And some heart shaped gold dusts (product by IZU) on the rear sides.

One on the right side and one on the left.

The images are taken with 2 different camera, iPhone and Fujifilm Fine Pix. iPhone able to capture normal light with more focused on details on low resolution, while Fine Pix absorbed light more with higher resolution yet unable to focus on closed range.

Za Liquid Eyeliner

Za is here ^__^

Yes, yes, another Za products and this is the last one I (currently) have. They are good quality products in affordable prices, what's not to like?!

The packaging is simple but still very nice, this Japanese product is known to be effective and effortless. Za Marketing assured me no matter how you put them on (Za cosmetics) it would never go wrong. Anyone can do it, that's their motto. Suitable for beginner to professional.

Look at the eyeliner, it is able to create a very fine line with steady constant straight uninterrupted streak.

From so thin (image at way above) to this thick the super sharp gentle brush can do it all without fail.

Is it waterproof? Like 75% yes. I do have rather active glands near the eyes, so it sweats a lot and tears do come down ofter to lubricate the eyes, but so far, no smudges once set. So when the ink haven't set, I can easily clean the error.

The shape of the liner is common, the ink given is a very good quality, I did mistakenly put it inside my eyes a few times, it never sting the eyes (I try not to do that again) and the ink can easily be removed from inside the eyes with tears and tissue.

The shaking action is needed just so the ink can flow beautifully.

Overall,

It's a simple eyeliner with dark black ink, 75% waterproof, anti-smudge, fine soft gentle brush, and hardly fails on me ^__^

Za Eyes Groovy in White Illuminator

Hi everyone,

Eyes Groovy from Za is considered a new item in the market, mine is in 02 which is White Illuminator.

I choose this shade since I want a look which can be use daily that enhance the eyes without being too much, the shade may be used as a highlighters as well.

The shade are somewhat like a pink, light green, pearl white and sparkling black.

Behind the packaging a simple guidance is given but you may use anyway you please. I found all of their texture to be super fine, except for the sparkling black, a bit rougher.

From the swipes all of their texture can be seen which 1,2, and 3, like a very fine powder and 4 to be a lot more pigmented and to the touch like this small tiny dust. I use No.3 as a highlighter as well and sometime No.1 to add a bit of rosiness on the cheek after blush on. No.2 may be used to hide red marks on the skin like from irritations, acne, or other 'red' thingy =^__^=

Cleansing wise, they are pretty easy to be cleaned, use any makeup remover or a simple foaming facial wash will do (when used without primer).

Before usage make sure to shake the bottle well so the two part become one, and it will be like this cloudy liquid, a mix between water and oil.

Use a cotton and pour some, depends on how much you need it to be, but on the eyes, please be careful as don't let any of them drip to inside the eyes. Just made sure the cotton is damp, not drenched.

I've gathered mascara, eyeliners, lipstick, eye shadows, waterproof eyeliners, pencil eyeliners, crayon eyeliners, eyebrow colors, etc just for this test alone.

Let them sit for a while and made sure all are dried and set. I give them a chance to have a grip.

Then gently swipe the cotton, this is what happen after the first swipe, the waterproof makeup will stay holding on, reluctant to leave their place.

After several rubbing action with the cotton (without adding more remover) all of them doesn't have the chance to fight back. Result? A clean skin, free from all makeup.

I continue with the rest of the products on my hand and they are gone alright, leaving the skin oily. For me it is impossible to just leave the condition like this and double wash with a foaming facial wash.

Overall,

A gentle makeup remover for the eye and lips. Easily cleans everything including the hard to crack waterproof products, but it leaves the skin oily, so use a foaming facial wash afterwards to remove all oiliness left behind.

Petal Pink Pure Shine Lips by ZA

Hello ladies,

Petal Pink is in da house. A lovely bright pink hue for the lips from Za Cosmetics.

The packaging is cute and very girlie. White pearly covering with letters Za printed on it.

With Prismatic Red Pigment and moisturizing agents and vitamin E, the lipstick does feels rich on the skin without drying the lips. It is quite pigmented and so pinky pinky =^__^= I don't remember the last time I use such a pink lips.

The neat packaging is sleek and looks suitable and presentable to be carried around daily. A trademark of a hip Japanese product. Yes, Za is from Japan.

The lipstick fills in the lines on the lips, here is an image of my lips using it, looks so sweet isn't it?! The look below is my lips without any base or lips pencil.

Overall, it's a moisturizing lipstick without being too greasy nor oily on the lips. There's a light scent but definitely not overwhelming, so it is a pleasing scent and feeling on the lips also quite light.  It doesn't gives my lips any enhancing effect, it just show the lips in colored version. Suitable for daily use and hopefully all the nutrients and ingredients which is said beneficial on the lips shows result for a long term usage. Will I keep using it? Yes, since the lipstick feels comfortable with a nice touch of fresh colors.
