Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter

how are you? I hope everyone is in top top condition. It's been a while since my last post. Lately, I was busy playing mom and indulging myself watching iflix :D

While I was at home, usually the air conditioner is on most of the time because it's super hot here. And air conditioner, as we know, make the skin dry...most of the time. Using body lotion is not enough when they are usually gone within a couple of hours. Body butter could last longer and better too.

Using it on a damp skin made the butter melts easier on to the skin. Imagine yourself after a warm bath, the skin feels vulnerably sexy, most and the minute the butter touches the skin, it's like a butter on a warm pudding, melts and glide effortlessly waiting to be massaged in. 

The more I tried to blend the butter on my skin the more the scent evoking and awakens, it is very pretty and delightful. The shea butter works its way to cover the skin and making them stay moist while aloe vera heals and hydrates.

My skin stays plump and supple for the whole day, or at least until the next shower while the scent last for hours, I figure that to make the scent last longer I can spritz some of the fragrance with the same notes all over every now and then.

Still, my skin doesn't really enjoy fragrance no matter how good it is, and it start to show some resistances, patches of irritated skin due to the fragrance which I'm sure wont happen to those who are blessed with normal skin condition.

The color of the product inside is a creamy orange liquid, it lathers but not bountifully. The smell of orange is emerging, with a hint of something like lavender, so it's a mix of energizing and relaxing at the same time. The skin feels clean afterwards and fresh, I like the clean sensation it brings and that zing. It's zesty for sure and there's a cold like after taste.

The scent doesn't last long, thou. After taking the shower, around 1 hour later the scent is all gone. So it is pretty much shower experience only.

Overall,

a body wash made for an orange lover, the scent is pretty much like a sweet fresh orange ready to be consume, it is ripe and juicy.

The body wash cleanses the skin well without any sticky feeling nor dryness afterwards. The scent last only a while and the product continue to give the skin a long lasting freshness.

The details are also written all over the pump bottle,  and everything is clear.

The texture of the lotion is common, like most creamy lotion do. the color is white and easily used, especially on a clean damp skin after shower.

The smell is just amazing, like blends of citrus and so pretty too at the same time. There's an immediate smooth powdery effect felt on the skin, so I can say that they dries up quite fast or they absorbed quickly on the skin. I do need my skin to be firmer, like a 20 years old gal, I want them to be up and about again. Areas such as thigh, bottom, and for me, tummy area.

The lotion doesn't gives the skin an instant uplifting effect, more like smoothing at first, start firming then and perhaps (if you're lucky enough) the up and lifted effect can be seen within 4 weeks.

As for me, I'm more enjoying the process, the irresistible scent and smooth and firming effects. But most of all, the wonderful citrus blends that smells so in-doubtably good.

Soap and Glory Foam Call

shower and bath are our daily routine and we shall forbid it for being so boring and dull. Blessed with so many options of products in the market, we can choose one according to our needs, budget and even moods accordingly.

One brand that I love experimenting is Soap and Glory.

I first saw them in Sephora (Singapore) around 7-8 years ago and have been trying to get my hands on all of their products. They looks so pretty in their iconic pinkish shades and the details reminds me a lot of a good ol' days. Like when the industrial era of 50's strikes.

I got mine from Boots in Thailand. The best thing that hubby could give me during his business trips is toiletries, cosmetics and oh well, beauty products. I just love trying them and now, automatically, he'll know which one to get, the one that I haven't tried before from one of my favorite brand out there.

The details are written clearly on the pump bottle, too bad mine was faulty, I can't use the pump, so on every shower or bath, I have to unscrew it open.

The scent is a bit more powdery than described, I was surprise that peppermint is listed as I don't think I feel that tingling or cool sensation like peppermint do. Perhaps I have to put more in my tub or take my time in the shower so the mints hits me.

The creamy milky texture is luxurious and lathers instantly on a damp skin. It made them feels clean and comfortable for being hydrating.

The highlight of the product is perhaps the dual function for bath and/or shower as the foam is very much something I look forward too, it was soft and fluffy.

It's like full color on every swipe, the feeling on the lips is comfortable, moist but not greasy, silky but not slippery, the gloss alive for hours but I can turn it into a semi matte using a dust of powder. Love the intensity.

Does it waterproof? Nope. But it last quite long (except when eating).
The product also made the lips appears fuller and glossy, all in the right way.

And here's how I use it.

Step 1, under the eyes and near the eyes area as a brightener.

Step 2, for all over the face that needs help, like under the nose, lip line, acne, and other things I want to hide.

The small mirror under step 3 is much needed for a quick touch up on the go.

And step 3, the white powder.

And after blending all those step 1 and 2 nicely (which is super easy thanks to the easy to blend texture of the products, I use step 3, which is the powder.

These three steps is actually enough for daily basis and just add a loose powder and the whole base is finish. But if you happen to be going to a major events or need a maximum coverage, you might use a liquid foundation first, and them step 1-2 and then 3, followed by your favorite compact powder. Or step 1 then 2, followed by BB Cream or any other liquid foundation and then step 3.

Or (yes, many options) use step 1, 2, after moisturizer and then add step 3 followed by a powder foundation and loose powder.

The key is to use all liquid or cream type form or makeup first before all the powders.

Finally, after the base are done, I can add some colors, mascara for the lashes, and so on.

Overall,

a great product that conceal everything I want to seal. From covering my eye bags that has a slightly dark color to redness under the nose, 'clearing' acne, hiding anything from visibility, including patches, skin discoloration, and other imperfection.

The Step 1,2 and 3 makes this product complete on it's own. It's like a 3 in 1 with powder that sets the concealer.

Here's me using the lippy, a very smooth and slippery glossy stick that does make the lips looks plumper, silky and glossy but all in the right way. I love the shade as well. I know the craze is all in the matte lacquer is ON right now, but for me a beautiful sheer 3D volume gloss is always IN ^^

The scent is a faint musk, very moisturizing and surprisingly not sticky nor feel greasy on the lips, it's like just a beautiful coat for the lips to look awesome. I think that the images above does the Gloss Stick injustice. These image below will show you how pretty it is filling up all those lines and color the lips.

Soap & Glory The Daily Smooth Body Butter

it's been quite tense lately in Jakarta, I hope everyone is okay and well, regarding tomorrow, let's just pray to God that no matter what, we are kept safe and sound because I do believe that God is with us, Indonesia.

Now, to smooth things out (wink wink), I want to share a review about a product from Soap and Glory, the Daily Smooth Body Butter.

Have you ever see someone so pretty, then when you're looking at her elbow, it looks so dark, with white strikes since it is really dry? I don't know why but sometime that's how I see someone been taking care of herself well or not, in a 'beauty sense' ya.

I love skincare and nowadays more and more people start paying attention in maintaining than just covering, but still, when I see someone with a very smooth complexion on her face yet her elbows or knees looks really dry, it feels incomplete.

Those dry and rough areas will become worst when not treated properly, a good moisturizing lotion is needed, in fact, when it has become really dry, a body butter is a better option.

Instructions for Use

Divide a small plum-sized splodge between your shins, knees, thighs, elbows, tops of toes and then everywhere else. Massage around until it all starts to sink in. (Love the fragrance? Double up with Mist You Madly body spray on top.)

The dew it everyday concept is about using it daily as part as the daily routine and for those rough areas such as elbows, knees, etc. The slightly thick white cream will turn into a very smooth butter that feels light on the skin. Unlike other body butter in the market this one is so easy to use. I hate those thick butters, I have to keep on massaging yet still feels sticky and greasy. This one? So far so good.

The aroma is quite masculine at first, in fact, my dad had a perfume like this one a few years ago. After a while the scent will settle down and become less 'sharp' into a soft musk.

Overall, a very good beauty butter with no paraben that helps those dry skin on the roughest part to become soft and smooth without any greasy effect. The result? A silky skin with the scent of musk. The effect last until the next shower. With continuous usage the rough area will become better and better.

soap & Glory Girligo Body Moisturizing Mist

it's been quite a week, I went through vertigo and for the rest of us there's a lot of drama regarding the presidential election process and what happen between Palestine and Israel. Well, let's just keep of praying and hope for the best shall we?! By not getting ourselves dwells in the black campaigns, rumors, or provocation, let's get the facts before sounding our opinions.

We all want peace, kindness and happiness. I can't say much about peace and kindness for you, but this one item may add a bit of happiness in your world.

It's a Body Moisturizing Mist by Soap & Glory that smells so good. It's a mixture of sweet fruits and lovely floral. Tempting, delicious, not overly sweet, a hint of citrus, a bit of musk, still fresh and very very juicy.

I use the product after every shower and all over the body, the skin gets that perfect lovely and smitten due to the scent and moisturizing effect from the light yet adequate supple effect on the skin. It even moist enough for the dry skin to be happy.

Unfortunately, this product still contain paraben (boooooooo), I hope they make one soon without paraben.

Overall, I really like the idea of a spray body lotion, it makes daily routine feels more fun. The amazingly addictive scent smells sublime, like I'm in the middle of a fruit and floral garden in the late spring coming to summer. It made me feel good in wrapping myself in this scent... thinking of getting myself a perfume like this.

Soap & Glory Scrub Em' and Leave Em' Body Buff

Hello everyone!!!

This item was a gift from Stephanie Nangoi, thanks babe! And she said she doesn't like the scent, hence instead of throwing it away, she gave it to me which I received it, gladly haha! I love Soap & Glory, I think their stuffs are adorably pink and I love toiletries as well.

And the scent is the one thing she can't stand off, that's the first thing I've done, sniff it! This product has an odd start with me, the scent was kinda sharp and spiky at first to the nose, but something happens.

Instructions for Use

Scoop out a handful and rub it all over, then rinse. Smear our Daily Smooth Body Butter on top (it has the same sexy smell!), if you want to maximize the moisturize.

Insisted on trying the product I scoop a handful of this pink gooey hard big sea salts where tiny blue dots are everywhere (what are those) and start rubbing it off against my skin, and there it is. The scent start to evolve and tone down a bit. I start noticing a very vivid scent which I usually experienced when I'm entering a 5 stars hotels, the smell of a clean, fresh and comfortable room. That's the smell! I have to admit that I enjoy the scent so much.

Move on to the texture, the sea salts are big alright and feels rough on the skin, and since it was really big, a lot of them goes down the drain before even buffing the skin. The product can be used on dry or damp skin and again, since the sea salt are big even though the skin is wet, they easily dissolve, it actually took them a while before dissolving. The scrubbing can goes as long or as short as you want it to, and depends on your moods.

Result? A soft and smooth skin with this memorable aroma that I enjoy for about 30 minutes to 1 hour after the shower, the oils help the skin to stay moist and the scrubbing effect help the blood circulation under the skin.

Overall, it's a scrub that does buffing, pampering and aromatic (if you happens to like the scent like I do) and gives the result just as it is.

My review.

The clear gel is lovely but not lathering as much as I want, I use like half of my palm, like shown in the picture with bubble that said 'clear gel'. My hair is long (not extra long) like reaching my the hook of my bra on the back. Maybe my hair is too dirty? I do not know but definitely need another session right after the first. The smell is lovely, mild and floral, somewhat reminds me of a stay in a 4 star hotel in the USA, so smell-wise, good! But I can't say I really smell raspberry thou', btw, what is the smell of raspberry?

I like the fact that the shampoo made my scalp feels clean and not easy to re-oily. The hair become shiny alright especially when you have a dull hair and use a mask and/or conditioner afterwards. For my oily scalp and level 2 dryness of my hair (out of ten) the shampoo can do me good daily.

Do I like it? Sure do! Now I want the conditioner!!!

Glad Pits by Soap & Glory

I've been using Glad Pits for a couple of months now, on and off. Before getting to my review, let's see the details given on the packaging:

Dew or Dry?
Shake can well. Hold can 15-20cm away from body and spray Glad Pits under your arms after bathing or showering. (And in the summer may we also suggest on the soles of your feet?) Re-apply whenever you feel need it. Do not apply to irritated or damaged skin. Avoid contact with eyes. If product gets into eyes rinse well with water immediately, and perhaps consider some training to improve your aim (--LOL)

 Now this is my review:

When I bought them it was a true adventure, I've been hunting this item since 2 years ago. I went to Sephora in ION and the staffs said it was sold out so I went to the one in Ngee Ann City only to be told they run out as well. New stocks will come soon. So I went again after a month or so, still not available and again and again and again.

It seriously build up my curiosity about the product. The staff also mention that the product is so good every time they stock up it would be finished so fast. Like seriously?

Finally after years of searching (a bit of exaggeration but it's true thou') I get mine in January 2012. I hold it like something so dear for me. And I've tried it.

The pink packaging is so cute, love every words they put there. So after a shower I shake the bottle and spray it directly to my armpits. Cough cough cough, wow, warning! The kinda like powdery talcy-thingy is just bursting too in the air, a bit sharp to the nose. Glad Pits has seriously drop some expectation here.

The scent is mild and there's a cooling sensation to the armpits but do not inhale any of it, trust me on this, hold your breath and leave the zone affected, then breath normally.

After that, the deo effect is actually quite good and you can spray it again after like 4 hours in sweat, like going to the gym sweat, but if you are working behind table, sitting comfortably in an air conditioner room, you can be happy since it would stay like 8-12 hours or so. I do take a shower after 8 hours, so I never tested the product more than 8 hours, but so far so good.

Btw, It does depends on your stink level too haha! Some do sweats a lot and maybe eat a lot of ingredients that 'helps' boosting up stink level, while other is blessed with naturally fragrant sweat (envy!!!!) .

Will I keep using the product? Yes, but only in a well ventilated area as in open all the windows and doors or spray them and immediately leave that room.

Walking in Sephora to Get Some Soap & Glory Scrub Your Nose In It

I went to Singapore some time ago, I guess I was clearly homesick. I just miss the freedom I have there. Being able to walk around and not being dependent to private vehicle, relying on the safety of the public transport and comfort in a whole lot more.

There's one place I have to keep checking them out. Well, aside from Watson, Guardian, and Sasa. Yes, it's Sephora. Available in Takashimaya and ION, any gal would feel like in a candy store. From big brands and ads to those you've known by heart.

From cosmetics, beauty products, skincare, toiletries to perfume. It's like they got it all for the pampering purpose. Sephora itself carry their own brand and you can try as well. Usually a trip here always took me hours and hours until I ran out of time.

Products not just divided by brands but sometime according to their function. The one on the right caught my eyes, those pink packaging with big words and like pin up looks. It was Soap & Glory. A brand that I recently learn and feels drawn into ^__^ UK and USA loved brand are available almost all worldwide thanks to Sephora.

I bought bunch of their stuffs and will do a review bits by bits. This one is the first of their clan. The Tosca paste feels a bit rough. I use it on my nose and oily zone only, avoiding my cheeks as they are dry and I just don't want to disturb them now.

Actually there's so many other cleanser and scrub from them, somehow I choose this one since it says I can leave 'em on like a mask that helps the oily areas become well not oily anymore. Here's my experience:

As I was showering at the same time, I softly cleans my face first using my usual cleanser, then I scrub my nose with Scrub Your Nose In IT and it feels tingling a bit as it is minty and very refreshingly scented as well, hmm scented or from natural ingredients? I see Orange flower extract in the ingredients. I leave it on as prescribed on my sometime oily nose. It will dries up like a clay dries. But it was really comforting in a way -- . -- soothing and still soft for me. I am cranky about my scrubs and only the mild and high quality one do pass the test.

Scrub Your Nose In It? It pass with flying color. The scents is refreshingly lovely, the scrub does clean my nose well without drying it and over powering effect that cause sensitiveness, allergies nor irritation and it works! After using it as a mask as well my nose do have less oils, it works well on my forehead and chin as well. I'm liking it!
