Illamasqua Hydra Veil

This is Hydra Veil from Illamasqua.

At first, I thought it was a moisturizer, but then I thought again, it's Illmasqua, it has gotta be more than that. So I look up and yes, it's a primer.

Apparently Ilamasqua has two of these veil, one in the hydra veil, and the other is matte veil. So, I guess it pretty much help us understand the 'theme' it will create, the other make the skin looks matte and the hydra is more to the hydrating look, will it be like the latest trend from Korea, that watery dewy finish, or another?

The packaging is like any other range from Illamasqua, in black and the words are in gold like font.

Inside the box, there's a black jar that opens up to this black small spoon with white lid.

And beneath that white lid, is a cloudy clear gel, it's so tempting to just dive in and enjoying the cool gel, it's like a tub of pure goodness.

I didn't notice any smell or anything distinctive coming out from it, if there's a fragrance, it must be so faint.

The black small spoon can easily be detached from the lid with a slide motion to the opposite side from the back of the spoon.

For me the tiny spoon scoop out the perfect amount of gel for a single use. Look how cute it is, gel is always the best form ever for a beauty product.

On their official website, the image taken for this particular product is how it got scrambled together, but I don't want to do that, the gel looks so peaceful in this form. Nevertheless, scrambled or not, the gel are fun and pleasant to be used.

Here's the gel on the skin. They looks like water droplet, so innocent and dewy.

The gel is used after the whole skincare is done, this get act as the base for the makeup.

The texture is not like agar, more like a semi set jello, so when touch it with my fingers, they'll melt instantly and create this thin watery veil on the skin like shown on the image below.

They look so wet, but no worries, almost instantly, they'll disappear and leave no residue on the skin. I can't see where the gels are, but the skin looks different. It appears more radiant even thou it's dry to the touch. Softer, finer, and healthier. Like the skin just drank enough fluid.

It is glistening and looks good on the skin. Perfect for those who have dry and sensitive skin as it kinda become a barrier for the skin from makeup after that.

Below is the result on using Illamasqua Hydra Veil after skincare and right before foundation. I've tried using other products for makeup after that and it doesn't matter, they don't noodled or become cakey altogether.

I love how it made my skin seems more hydrated, like a soft dewy look. It is not like using a glowing primer that sometimes made the skin appears greasy, this one is just right.

The primer also made colors more pop, makeup applied easier and if you happen to have dry skin sometime dry skin cells love to flake off and create this tiny debris, by using the hydra veil, they are no more.

Overall,

a great base for all skin type, but if you happen to have dry and sensitive skin, you'll love it even more. Hydra Veil create a hydrating base to prep the skin before makeup, it provide a light juicy effect on the skin without any leftovers. The result of using it is a smooth, soft, and ready for makeup skin with a better final finish as well. Makeup seems effortless and owning that gentle radiance is now possible.

The packaging is filled with details and below, the product. The container works smoothly, and I love the deep curve design for a better grip during application.

Review:

The lipstick comes in a semi matte finish and superb covering power with full color. If you happen to have dark lips, uneven tone color, and other things, this lipstick alone covers everything without the need of using foundation or lip concealer. It is a brilliant red color that is feminine and lovely.

Those who are afraid of the color red can try this as their first red. The pink undertone is gratifying and help lift up the skin tone. It is beautiful without being too serious.

Beside the color, the lipstick has a good staying power, not completely kiss proof but I would like to give it 3 out of 5 stars in terms of transfer-proof.

I have no problem in applying the lipstick as it glide on pretty smooth but since it is matte, it is definitely as slippery as glossy one with more moisturizing effect and after a few hours lip balm is definitely needed.

In these images you'll see the lipstick on me with many lighting, above is sunlight exposure in the morning (hence my eyes looks watery, haha!). I got the direct sunlight here. The ray made the lips looks pinker than red. It is adorable!

And this is when hidden from the sunlight, the color is back to red.

And above is after 3-4 hours. It looks quite dry, right?! Fret not, just reapply with a bit of lip balm and a fresh coat of the lipstick and I'm back on track, a gorgeous red raspberry lips called Salacious.
