siapa sih yang tidak tahu mengenai Pond's?! Sepertinya semua orang pasti paling tidak pernah mendengar mengenai brand ini karena sudah ada sejak puluhan tahun yang lalu di Indonesia. Aku pribadi pertama tahu mengenai Pond's dari Cold Cream mereka yang dipakai mama saat aku masih usia SD.

Nah series Age Miracle yang ditujukan untuk kulit dewasa ini, sekarang juga telah genap 10 tahun.

Jakarta, 21 Februari 2018 - Pond's Age Miracle, produk anti-aging nomor satu di Indonesia produksi PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk., hari ini merayakan 10 tahun kehadirannya dalam berinovasi menghadirkan rangkaian perawatan kulit wajah untuk perempuan Indonesia dan menemani setiap momen pencapaian hidupnya. Amaryllis Esti Wijono selaku Marketing Manager Face Care Category PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk., menjelaskan bahwa, “Ketika memasuki usia 30 tahun, perempuan Indonesia akan menghadapi dua perubahan besar dalam hidupnya, yaitu, pertama perlambatan regenerasi kulit. Lalu, kedua, pendewasaan diri. Pada tahap ini mereka cukup rentan mengalami stress yang berpengaruh pada kondisi kulit. Untuk itu, Pond’s Age Miracle telah menjadi sahabat perempuan Indonesia dalam mengatasi penuaan dini lewat inovasi produk yang terdepan.”
Berdasarkan hasil riset dari The Pond’s Institute (2016) dan National Survey dari Accenture terungkap bahwa stress dan kurang tidur dapat melemahkan 70% kolagen kulit dan meningkatkan resiko munculnya keriput pada wajah dan membuat wajah terlihat 2,5 tahun lebih tua.
Dr. Melyawati Hermawan selaku Dermatologis mengungkapkan, kebutuhan nutrisi kulit wajah diusia 30 tahun lebih banyak dibandingkan usia yang lebih muda. Untuk menjaga elastisitas dan kesehatan kulit wajah membutuhkan nutrisi yang tepat sehingga terbebas dari masalah-masalah umum seperti kulit kusam, munculnya garis halus wajah, bahkan vlek hitam.
“Di usia 30 tahun elastisitas kulit wajah perempuan berkurang 0,5% setiap tahunnya. Paparan sinar matahari ini menyebabkan produksi melanin berlebihan akibat efek buruk sinar UV, serta distribusi melanosit yang tidak merata. Aku pribadi telah mencoba Pond's Age Miracle, dengan kemasan dan formula baru yang lebih baik dan kandungan yang lebih tinggi akan bahan-bahan yang dikenal dapat membantu mengurangi guratan halus pada kulit ataupun keriput.

Fiona Anjani Foebe selaku Head of Marketing Face Care PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk menjelaskan bahwa pada usia yang semakin matang, perempuan telah banyak membuat berbagai keputusan besar yang berpengaruh tidak hanya pada dirinya, tapi juga sekitarnya. “Usia merupakan penanda bagi perempuan atas segala sesuatu yang telah diraihnya. Sepanjang perjalanan tersebut, keputusan yang dibuat semakin besar dan lebih banyak aktivitas yang dilakukan. Tanpa disadari kegiatan tersebut tidak hanya memforsir dirinya, namun juga kulit wajah mereka untuk bekerja lebih keras dan rentan terhadap berbagai faktor eksternal yang dapat mempercepat munculnya tanda penuaan pada kulit,” jelasnya.

Menanggapi pernyataan Fiona, Vivi Tri Andari selaku R&D Manager PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk menjelaskan mengenai fakta yang ditemukan oleh The Pond’s Institute pada tahun 2016 tentang beberapa faktor yang berisiko dapat mempercepat penuaan pada kulit wajah. “Berdasar hasil riset kami, gaya hidup yang aktif dan nonstop dapat mempercepat munculnya kerutan dan kekusaman pada kulit wajah. Stress dan kurang tidur juga dapat melemahkan produksi kolagen pada kulit sehingga wajah terlihat lebih tua. Jika tidak segera ditangani dengan baik, akan semakin banyak tanda-tanda penuaan yang akan muncul. Di samping itu, setelah menginjak usia 30 tahun, elastisitas kulit wajah berkurang 0.5% setiap tahunnya,” jelas Vivi.

Lebih lanjut menjelaskan hasil riset, Fiona menambahkan bahwa hingga kini masih banyak perempuan Indonesia memilih produk perawatan yang kurang tepat untuk kebutuhan kulit wajah seusianya. “Sejauh ini masih banyak perempuan yang masih mengandalkan produk perawatan kulit wajah dengan manfaat untuk mencerahkan kulit, padahal pada usia yang semakin matang kulit membutuhkan perawatan yang tepat untuk mencerahkan wajah akibat melambatnya regenerasi kulit,” tambahnya.

Ditemui dalam acara Pond’s Age Miracle Non-Stop Beauty, Dr Eddy Karta SpKK membenarkan hasil riset dari The Pond’s Institute bahwa masih banyak perempuan Indonesia yang belum menyadari adanya faktor-faktor yang dapat berisiko mempercepat penuaan kulit wajah. “Dari banyaknya kasus yang pernah saya jumpai, masih sedikit dari mereka yang paham mengenai kebutuhan perawatan kulit wajah sesuai dengan usianya. Kebanyakan dari mereka percaya bahwa proses penuaan kulit wajah baru akan terjadi setelah usia 30 tahun, atau bahkan 40 tahun. Padahal proses penuaan kulit wajah sudah dimulai semenjak usia 25 tahun. Ketahui Faktor-faktor yang Mempercepat Penuaan

Seiring dengan bertambahnya usia, perempuan Indonesia membuat semakin banyak keputusan dalam hidupnya. Keputusan yang dibuat pun berubah seiring bertambahnya usia, hingga akhirnya usia dianggap sebagai salah satu penanda bagi perempuan dalam kehidupannya. Perubahan keputusan tersebut tidak hanya mempengaruhi dirinya, namun juga sekitarnya sehingga membuatnya melakukan lebih banyak kegiatan dibandingkan sebelumnya. Berbagai kegiatan yang dilakukan perempuan tidak hanya memforsir dirinya saja tapi sekaligus juga membuat kulit mereka bekerja lebih keras dan menjadi rentan terhadap faktor eksternal yang dapat mempercepat penuaan kulit wajah.

Faktanya:

One thing that I thought to be quite interesting is the texture of the day cream that feels like a makeup base. It has that powdery feeling, perhaps it is due to the sun protection inside or the soft 'covering' or blurring effects that made the skin appear better, or perhaps younger.

Now, the night cream. A product that also comes in a pot, smells also very fragrant like the day cream but with a slightly different texture. It is more like a gel cream and a bit more transparent than the day cream. It provide more moisture than the day cream too.

These two products are made accordingly, one for the day that contain SPF and the one for night time with a more watery consistency. Still thou, the product is more suitable for those with normal to oily skin type as my skin is dry and it need additions of hydrating serum.

The products itself are light and when used it absorbed easily on the skin. One thing that I don't really enjoy is the overwhelming perfume on those creams. I wish they could come a bit softer and delicate. If you look into the ingredients, seems like there's heaps of alcohol, preservatives, and hmm not much of the things I'm looking for in an anti aging creams. They are too 'light' as in effects and ingredients for the skin.

it's not that they are not 'invisible', compared when using none, they do show good results, but for someone who have been using skincare diligently (and which that contain high quality ingredients) would not be able to see the desired outcomes. In the end, it's about preference (afterall).

The eye cream is light, scentless, and has that rich creamy texture. So use only a very tiny amount and smooth it out on the eyes area. The product can be used for the laughing lines too, it helps soften the wrinkles and give good results when used every day, like two times a day. Used the eye cream under the day or night cream and used only on cleaned skin.

One more tips from me, use every skincare on cleaned and moist skin as it helps the helpful ingredients to works better as there's no barrier. When taking the products, don't forget to use a clean spatula or fingers, so they'll last longer and doesn't ruin what's inside.

Videos of women sharing their stories are shared during the event. Some has known POND'S almost their life, while some knew POND'S from her mom, friends, or aunts.

Their stories revoke my memories of how I knew POND'S. I was at elementary school at that time, perhaps around 9-10 years old, the same age as my first born right now. My mom has this pretty jar on her dresser. On that pot, it is written, POND'S Cold Cream.

I opened it and it has that scent, that distinct scent, a scent that reminds me a lot of my mom. She always smells this good. And then she walked into the room and said that is her precious cream and I should not play with it. I though I'm going to get scolded, but she allows me to try it on my hand. These are the variants given to me during the event. Personally I have tried several variants from POND'S. I can clearly say, all of them have a similar texture, light and matte on the skin.

As clearly seen on the image above, the night cream is a light moisturizing and below, the day cream, has a powdery finish.

The day cream comes with a milky pink colored cream that feels soft on the skin. Very light in terns of texture and within seconds, the day cream turns into a velvety formula.

The night cream is a white creamy gel, almost like a lotion, the feeling on the skin also light. Both product is fragrant, a bit strong for me.

All of the texture is made to suits us, which means that POND'S product in other part of the world have a different formula and texture than ours. My Take on POND'S Acne Complete Solution

Finally, after trying, testing, experimenting, I can make this post worth reading ^^

From the recent event with POND'S (Click ME), a hamper full of their products is already in front of me, all I need is people to tested the products along with me. Since I'm like acne-free, I ask my brother's help as he does have acne, my dad and hubby's oily skin and the rest we can just share and use together ^^

The team from POND'S repeatedly reminding us that the products are made specifically for those with acne, not in a severe level where it need dermatologist help, oily skin as well. So these products are not suitable for those with dry skin, sensitive to one or more of the ingredients, or severe acne condition.

4 items, 4 people ^^ me, my brother, my dad and my hubby. There are wipes, foam and scrub, overnight gel and the concealer.

First is the Multi Action Facial Foam + Scrub. The thick paste is super easy to be lathered on. Always bubbles up, never use a 'raw' product directly to the facial skin, so work it up on the palm of your hand with water. Then use the bubbles to clean up the face. It cleans up all the oil, that's why dry skin is not suitable with this product ^^

As much as it cleans all the oil, they doesn't clean makeup, so please use a makeup remover before the cleanser. The wipes given also able to help cleaning the makeup. Then, after cleaning, use your toner, dab some of the overnight gel only on the acne, use serum and moisturizer afterwards.

The Overnight Care Gel is a light blue-green gel that dries the acne fast. Below are the before after images of my dad, bro and hubby after using the cleanser, wipes, overnight care gel.

Their oil and sebum production reduced by far, the skin feels instantly refreshed and my brother, the one with acne prone skin, has been using the foam+scrub and overnight care gel too, his acne is reducing and drying in a matter of days. The recurrence also lowered, which means less new acne coming up.

The wipes can be use once-twice a day and it helps the oil production to calms down. The skin appears matter, longer, fresher, better too. Since there's less oil, less stickiness, the skin also appears cleaner. This is a good way to keep the skin clean. Don't forget to use toner, serum and moisturizer afterwards ya. You may skip the serum is you're below 20 years old.

I like to use the wipes in the morning as sometime I need to be quick. As a mom, taking a shower in the morning is a luxury, so most of the time, I took care every morning routine and prepare those going for work and school first before I can take a shower in peace. This wipes is a blessing, clean the skin instantly and I can top it off with fresh new moisturizer and looks ready for the day...or at least until I can have my morning shower ^^

Remember not to use it too much, 1-2 a day is enough for those with oily skin. Last, but not least the concealer, the one that used to cover the acne during makeup or after finished putting on skincare. It cover that red bumps that may look nasty. The tone is a bit too dark but I can tackle this by dabbing it a bit and blend it in. Before putting on foundation or other base makeup.

Most men wont be excited using the concealers but it does help the skin to looks less problematic.

the creamy nude shade look on my bro:





It covers the redness, tiny acne, but for the bigger bumps, it is reducing, so the look is becoming smoother and softer but not able to completely covering the bumps. The coverage is natural and build-able, from light to heavy coverage is up to you.

Conclusion:

The products works well in reducing oils and acne on the skin under certain circumstances, the main target is the oil for the foam+scrub and cleansing wipes, they eliminate the oils and the ingredients inside the wipes help the skin to stay matte longer.

Overnight care gel helps the acne to be gone with the salicylic acid, use it only on the acne and as an overnight treatment, which means dab it on the acne on the spot before bedtime. No need rinsing it and best to be used on a clean area.

The concealer helps cover the acne and caring action means there's ingredients that help taking care of the acne, yes, salicylic acid again. So you can use the overnight care gel at night and concealer for day time.

Couple days ago, I was invited by the team from POND'S Teens, yes teens ^^ so this 30's years old mama came to the event with memories from my past experience during the teens and with the hope for any readers that has been asking continually about acne may have some insights, info and products details.

Confidence and their focus may be distracted, that's why it is important for them to keep their skin clean and healthy. Dr. Eddy Karta SpKK (dermatologist) also adding some pointers of the 10 common problems of acne and oiliness on the skin.

Do you know that 6 out of 10 teens has their confidence affected due to their acne and oily skin? This research are based on Habit & Attitude for teens done by Unilever in 2011.

Again, if you have an overall dry to very dry skin, avoid using this product ya.

Here are the products that get my attention more than the others ^^

The Oil Control Cleansing Wipes, I love wipes, I love simplicity in life and I love products that actually work without a fuss. This item I tried on the spot and immediately it cleans everything it touches with medicated feeling and slippery texture. Once dried the skin feels clean, but not squeaky clean. So it is still quite gentle for normal skin (doesn't necessarily only can be used by oily skin type).

It is said to clean makeup (I did try cleaning the concealer and it works), daily debris and remove sebum too. So, I don't think anyone have an excuse of forgetting cleaning their skin now. The wipes is a very good quality wipes that feels cottony and thick.

Next, is the Overnight Pimple Care Gel that can be used by anyone with acne. It helps dry out the acne overnight. Use it after cleaning the face and toner, dab it directly to the acne (with cotton bud also can), it's like a medicine for acne (and it might be is), and last put on some moisturizer all over the skin once the gel is set.

The texture of the gel is light, clear in color and reminds me of u-hu glue in terms of smell heehee. But the gel is not sticky ^^ so don't worry, there's alcohol alright, that's why it reminds me of u-hu and other ingredients that is known for soothing the skin, dries up, and clears acne. Hmm, I'll share more in terms of effectiveness on my next post, for now, I'm interested to found out more. I'm going to try it on my brother, hubby and sister (they do have acne).

Here's when I tried the concealer on my skin, the tone is too dark on my face but I think there's no need in using to much, gently dabbing it on the acne will give the look natural help reduce the redness on the acne. It does cover in terms of shade, but not in bumps, does it help boost confidence when the acne is not clearly visible? I think so!
