A Movie Review: Sunny (Korean)

Sunny (Hangul: 써니; RR: Sseoni; MR: SSŏni) is a South Korean film about a group of middle aged women going through various mid-life struggles, seeking to reunite with each other. The film goes back and forth from their 1980s high school selves, when they first became friends, and their present day selves. It is the second film by director - screenwriter Kang Hyeong-cheol the director of Speedy Scandal.^[1] The film was released in May of 2011, and it was the first film to sell over 5 million tickets in South Korea during the 2011 calendar year and is the twelfth highest grossing film in South Korean history.

My say:

I watch the movie during my Tokyo-Singapore flight by Delta Airlines. The smooth operator on flight entertainment is just two thumbs up and with no disturbances whatsoever, I watch the movie in full comfort.

I expect a little on the movie which later on I found myself laughing and then in tears, keeping my self in the realm of Nami and her friends. Overall I love this movie and made a big impression on me that's why I'm writing these down right now.

The movie started with Nami, a girl from a country side, where in her previous school she was famous, known to be so smart and popular. In the new school, in Seoul, as a newbie she later realize her hillbillies side.

But soon enough she become one of the 'gank' in the school where ChoonHwa is the leader. The group is so funny and loves each other. Little that I know South Korea high school got some bullies (scary x.x) and some even use those very sharp objects to scarred their enemies face. Oh nooooooo! Beside the fights, bullying, and yanking hairs, the movie also see the little daily things of the teenagers there. How some already obsessed with beauty and other things that common.

The first crush ^__^ that puppy love, the brand oriented mind,  and how then they all grow up and face adulthood problems. Nami is the luckiest one, a mother of one with a husband that loves her so much . . . financially at least haha!

Too bad when they grow up and meet each other is because to one of the group whose dying wish is to meet all of them again. Why they separate you ask? You have to find it out in the movie? It involved some blood >.<

Watch this movie with your girlfriend or alone, it will definitely spark up some of your younger days version, or if you're still young enough, be happy with what you have right now!

I give this movie 4 out of 5 popcorn. 3 tissue ratings (yes, you'll cry for sure) and 3 laugh as well for how naive they are. Best part, I'm cracking up when one of the group show her strong point of cursing the enemies LMAO!

At first the scent is like a sweet floral, but later on it's like a soapy scent from back in the old days. I does gives my skin a bit of squeaky feeling so lotion/softener after the cleansing foam is necessary. I recommend using the product within the range. Suitable for daily use ^__^

Shu Uemura puRENovate

This is one of Shu's item that I've been using on and off for the past couple of months. I don't like it at first then later found out I'm using it wrong. The thing is not all beauty products works hand in hand with other brand.

So when I switch my toner to Kiehl's, they just clicked! Yep, Shu Uemura's product can be used not just with Shu's own clan, but Kiehl's as well.

Okay back to my review,
The white lotion is kinda like a fine sugars that melts, but not in the sticky way, more like in color (which is white) and consistency that a bit (very bit) thick. Definitely not thick like a cream, more like a liquidy lotion with a bit of transparency. The lotion works really well on a clean toned skin. Make sure they are not so wet, so some softener may not work best if it's not Shu's. The smell is like a mild flowery which is nice for me and I don't think anyone would complain about it.

Then apply bit by bit to the area needed, I don't see the point using it all over the face, simply pay attention to the area where the pores seems large. In my case, nose, upper cheek near the nose and from the nose almost to the forehead. Light massage and the product absorb really well, giving me a more subtle and refine pores. After they are absorbed then you can apply your moisturizer or for me, serum for my cheeks, then my moisturizer.

In the long terms beside instant visible result I see my skin having less sebum on the area applied. Well, in my case since I only use it on the area needed, puRENovate help me get an overall even look, so no more shiny t-zone.

For makeup, since the pores become finer I can achieve an even complexion as well.
Conclusion: It's all good ^__^ I can see this product being the love of their life for those with oily skin and large pores.

Glad Pits by Soap & Glory

I've been using Glad Pits for a couple of months now, on and off. Before getting to my review, let's see the details given on the packaging:

Dew or Dry?
Shake can well. Hold can 15-20cm away from body and spray Glad Pits under your arms after bathing or showering. (And in the summer may we also suggest on the soles of your feet?) Re-apply whenever you feel need it. Do not apply to irritated or damaged skin. Avoid contact with eyes. If product gets into eyes rinse well with water immediately, and perhaps consider some training to improve your aim (--LOL)

 Now this is my review:

When I bought them it was a true adventure, I've been hunting this item since 2 years ago. I went to Sephora in ION and the staffs said it was sold out so I went to the one in Ngee Ann City only to be told they run out as well. New stocks will come soon. So I went again after a month or so, still not available and again and again and again.

It seriously build up my curiosity about the product. The staff also mention that the product is so good every time they stock up it would be finished so fast. Like seriously?

Finally after years of searching (a bit of exaggeration but it's true thou') I get mine in January 2012. I hold it like something so dear for me. And I've tried it.

The pink packaging is so cute, love every words they put there. So after a shower I shake the bottle and spray it directly to my armpits. Cough cough cough, wow, warning! The kinda like powdery talcy-thingy is just bursting too in the air, a bit sharp to the nose. Glad Pits has seriously drop some expectation here.

The scent is mild and there's a cooling sensation to the armpits but do not inhale any of it, trust me on this, hold your breath and leave the zone affected, then breath normally.

After that, the deo effect is actually quite good and you can spray it again after like 4 hours in sweat, like going to the gym sweat, but if you are working behind table, sitting comfortably in an air conditioner room, you can be happy since it would stay like 8-12 hours or so. I do take a shower after 8 hours, so I never tested the product more than 8 hours, but so far so good.

Btw, It does depends on your stink level too haha! Some do sweats a lot and maybe eat a lot of ingredients that 'helps' boosting up stink level, while other is blessed with naturally fragrant sweat (envy!!!!) .

Will I keep using the product? Yes, but only in a well ventilated area as in open all the windows and doors or spray them and immediately leave that room.

AQUALABEL Lotion and Emulsion

Dear all,

I've been using AQUALABEL (again) since I got them from Tokyo. The rose scent is still there, so beautiful and comforting. The lotion is unlike toner, the way you're using it is the same, after cleansing and before moisturizing (or serum), but the lotion soften the skin, makes it able to receive the serum, emulsion and moisturizer better.

You see, the western and eastern have different principal in terms of taking care of the facial skin. While the western is more on toner, makes the pores smaller, the east believes in softening the skin, makes them moist and dewy to absorb the moist better afterwards. But in the end, you just choose which one suit you best. Yep, trial and error again.

For me, I see my skin condition and surroundings, and during 'dry' days these are my moist revival. The lotion prep my skin, making it moist and soft, ready for moisturizing. Then after serum the emulsion hydrated the skin and penetrated deeper before moisturizer. So take note to use emulsion before moisturizer.

Both products suitable for dry skin or any skin that need hydration and you'll love the rose extract ^__^

Hi pretty ladies,

on Saturday 18th of March, thanks to JOY magazine, I got myself an invitation to Shiseido White Party at Glow in Plaza Indonesia.

Next to their counter and an arrays of goodies from Shiseido. White Lucent is the 'it' range right now.

Their newest addition is Intensive Spot Targeting Serum and their new eye cream (products will be available soon)

Shiseido is in their 140 years of anniversary this year.

Without further ado the event started with models of Shiseido.

Then Ms. Sien Lie (Shirly) help us understand the meaning of taking care our skin. Shiseido with their wide selection of products gives choices for your unique skin condition and needs. According to Shiseido (and me too ^___^) prevention and taking good care of your skin is the best way than curing once it's done.
