MINISO Floral Silicone Oil Free Smoothing Shampoo

Hello lovelies,

I always looking for that perfect shampoo, the one that smells so beautifully floral fragrance, contain no silicone oil since I know it was really bad for the scalp, and eventually made your hair falls out for being so clogging, and lathers well without making the hair strikingly dry. Finally, I found my dream in a shampoo bottle inside MINISO. Yes, MINISO,  not a beauty store, drugstore or normal daily market I went into, so it's kinda surprising and they are budget friendly too. It cost around 5 SGD (I bought mine in Singapore).

-*-

What does it says on the bottle,

Silicone oil free. Leave your hair clean, smooth and silky. Contains extractives from prenus speciosa, rose rugosa, iris florentina. Moisturizing your hair. Make it not dry any more. Make your hair bright and smooth.

And it was right, every sentence. Usually, using a silicone oil free shampoo means my hair still feel a bit taut, kinda dry, and mostly like I still need a bunch of conditioner or hair mask afterwards. Using MINISO Floral Silicone Oil Free Smoothing Shampoo is so different that other silicone oil free shampoo that I've used, MINISO made the hair feels so good, like so manageable and smells so romantically delightful.

I still need to use conditioner since my hair is severely damaged, but not as much as when I'm using other brand that cost 2 to 3 times higher. So it's like the best one in terms of function, effects and cost. I look at the product with one eye thinking how good could it be, like it shouldn't be that good, but it does, it was remarkable. Like a hair this soft should be because of silicone, but it's not, they must have put other moisturizing and silky-ing ingredients into the shampoo. They must have found some miracle ingredients that does magic. Prenus Speciosa seems like a thing that available in Diagon Alley.

Nevertheless, I seems like to find something that really precious in MINISO and I started to look at their stuffs differently now, as my next project in Singapore, I'll try more of MINISO's products and hopefully soon.

Words of the day: never judge a shampoo by it's brand.

Thank you for reading my post, see ya!

Paul and Joe The Oil

Hello lovelies,

I know my last post is about face oil too, let's just say I've been really nuts about oils lately. They are wonderful and known to be the secret to beauty for centuries. Many women in the old age beliefs that oils helps nourish the skin, keeping them young, flexible and plump.

Holding the same principle, Paul & Joe comes up with The Oil.

-*-

During a beauty festival held by Paul & Joe, Anna Sui, Max Factor and many other brands, I got one myself. The Oil, the one that I tried during the event and fell in love with. It look so innocently beautiful and faultless. I want to have it immediately and ever since, I've been using it for weeks.

-*-

Here's why I love it:

A new method of skincare that envelops your skin with enriching pure oil. Your skin texture immediately softens with this oil.
Everything you desire – plump, glowing, hydrated skin drenched in moisture.

How to use: Saturate a cotton pad with oil.
Apply a generous amount of oil onto cotton pad & apply it to the face by softly gliding the pad in one direction.
Note: Applying product in excessive circular motions may result in damage to skin.

Tip: Apply extra oil on palms or fingertips and gently massage facial muscles for further relaxation.

-*-

Above are the ingredients of the product and yes, it still contain some fragrance. As seen, the main ingredient are oils. If you read the list of ingredients, always check on the order, whatever comes first is the main or the most thing put inside and the least ones are the ones on the last mentioned.

Olive oil itself are divided into many categories from being the purest to the grades of the quality, so you can't really just put any olive oils from the supermarket expecting the same result, there's many other factors.

-*-

And seems like the brand Paul & Joe also gave us a very distinct instruction on how to use the product, however, I prefer using it as a daily serum and by fingers only. Using a cotton pad soaked with the oils usually will irritate my skin, not because of the oils, but the nature of the cotton itself.

Every time I'm using products with cotton such as cleanser, toner, serum, or just about anything, the cotton not only gives what it soaked with, but takes. Cotton helps exfoliate the skin, so using products such as softener, softened the skin and the cotton can easily takes stuff we known as dead skin cells away but when the deads are removed, the fresh young skin beneath is exposed, too much pressure, or over-exfoliation can hurt the skin. For those with sensitive skin like mine (especially around the cheeks) will feel immediate sensation from tightness to sting pain.  So to avoid all that, I'm using my palm and fingers only during application, and as for the toner, I'm using face mist.

Hence, about skincare or anything in your life (to be frank) is personalized everything. Every little thing as we are not created as one single human being, we are complex, things that might works on some people may not work for you, even when everyone says use a toner with cotton pad, you might still have allergies to cotton, it's just common, it's common to be uncommon. So use according to your own best. Sometime, if you're like me, I need to mix and match my skincare, I use different brands from face mist to toner, refresher, toner, softener, serums, pre serums, moisturizers, day cream, night to sunscreen, as long as they works like a charm, they are mine.

-*-

Now, back to The Oil that gave me this flawless like radiance, it comes in a oil form that aren't as liquid as other face oils I know, it is rather like 'normal oil'. It has a subtle scent, kinda like faint citrus and a bit of floral too, it was pleasant and I like it a lot. I wish the texture could be a bit less thick but when used together with a face mist, I found no problem whatsoever. It does have oily feeling,  but my skin enjoys and embrace it a lot, they feel comfortable as no more dryness nor tightness, especially during night time, the oils is like a well that kept my skin moist all night long, waking up after using the oils and night watery cream is just wonderful. Like I just had a good 10 hours of sleep (8 hours wont do for me :D) with a skin humidifier breath to my skin nonstop.

Overall,

a great product to be used on daily, but it doesn't stand alone, it need other products such as toner, face mist, or skin softener to help with the application and absorption, plus it still need a moisturizer to seal the deal.

Round A Round Oil Infused

Hello lovelies,

I went to Korea a few months back and bring a lot of beauty products with me from my trip. There are so many of them that wasn't available in Indonesia, so I took as many as I could when I was there, including these lovely products.

-*-

Above is the main function and details I could find on the web, seems like it wasn't as popular as other Korean brand that has their own English website but still, Olive Young is a nation wide store that have so many branches throughout Korea and carry some of its own brand like Round A Round.

    -*-

I purchased them as a set, Oil Infused Skin Mist and Oil Infused Serum. I looked for products that help my dry skin to feel and be better, at least not so dry anymore, and it works, it works like a charm. The mist gave me a fine particle that acts not just as a softener for the skin, but hydrating. The tiny oils inside moisten the skin, preparing for the serum and then moisturizer, plus it is very convenient to be used anytime during the day.

It add subtle radiance and shine on my skin. Now, as adding the serum, that looks and feel like a dry oil, but finer and smaller in particles, so it easily taken by the skin which within seconds doesn't leave any oily nor greasy residue on my skin whatsoever. Adding moisturizer (any moisturizer) afterwards also a simple matter as they works well together.

I love the fact that the oils made the hydration stays on longer than using other (water-based) gel-like serums or watery toner, this mist and serum is like a dynamic duo for my skin and it can be used to any part or the body too, like my elbows or heels.

    -*-

I like the fact that my skin stays comfortable way longer than using other serum or any other moisturizer. The oils are practically almost scentless, well there's a faint kinda like flowery scent, but mostly, it was almost like nothing.

The serum can be added to foundation as well, it made them more translucent, flawless and the radiance it gave to my skin is just lovely. I feel like I can use less makeup when using the products. The mist is perfect for the hair too, especially at the ends, it help seals the damaged parts, adding shine and subtle gloss.

Overall, it was products worth trying and even repurchasing.

    BeautyLabo Hair Color

    Hello lovelies,

how are you? I hope everyone is well and happy. I have been through so many things for these past few weeks, from getting iLasik, kidney stone, to holiday and everything in between. It's like a roller coaster ride lately and been to many ups and downs. While so, some of my reviews have to be postpone, sorry for the delays, I hope you understand.

After getting things sort out, this is the first review I can do from the long hiatus, it's a hair color from Beauty Labo with a collaboration with Kawaii Beauty Japan.

    -*-

The collection consist of fashion colors that are young, fresh and hips. They are from Japan, so the quality and practicality definitely well proven. Contain Almond and Coconut Oils that are known to be good for the hair, especially in making them shiny and smooth.

Inside the box, there's the cream and developer, plus some details of information and plastic gloves. The product is easy to be applied by hands and mine is Apricot Candy.

You can easily choose other colors such as Natural Black, Dark Brown, Natural Blonde, Pure Beige, Raspberry Pink, or mine (Apricot Candy).

    -*-

    How to prepare:

Simply open sachet and put it inside the bottle where the developer and cream can be mixed together as a hair color formula. Shake them well after closing the lid.

At first the color are still white with yellowish tone, after a while mine turns into this purple creamy formula, this is the normal shade of formula for the color with a reddish tone.

    -*-

It is always best to color the hair when it is on it's 'dirty' condition. Dirty as in haven't been washed for at least 24 hours, some people even said the longer the better, but I think if it's too long and the hair is too dirty, it will create some problems too. Like if the hair is too oily, the formula will not be able to work properly. So 24-48 hours should be good enough, and if your hair is really damaged (like mine) do use a leave in conditioner on the ends of the hair to help with extra protection for the hair.

After making sure that the hair is ready for coloring (brushed and you have worn your worst clothing where you won't mind it getting stained), use the gloves and petroleum jelly on hair lines and the side of the ears that might get some colorant. I use some on my neck too. The petroleum jelly helps prevent staining and all I need is wiped it off if the colors get on to it.

    -*-

Afterwards, I parted my hair into sections, color per section starts from the back, all the way to the front. One package is enough for my medium length hair. The formula is easy to be spread all over the hair, using a wide tooth comb also helps making sure all the parts are getting some colors.

I waited around 30-40 minutes for the color to fully developed. I rinsed them off afterwards with running water all the way until the water turns clears. At first it was really thick and rather stiff. Add a bit of warm water and massage the hair off, it helps the hair too to get untangled.

Use a lot of conditioner or hair mask for colored hair afterwards if your hair is as damaged as mine so the hair can stay smooth and soft. Dry as usual and admire the new hair color.

    -*-

Above is my before hair color, dull and faded. Below image is the after, the hair regain it's color again, bright and beautiful. I must say, Candy Apricot shade create a brighter hue for my skin tone.

The coconut and almond oil does help my hair to appear better, if I continue to took care of my hair properly, I can maintained the color and hair condition for the best. Healthy hair definitely looks prettier, they'll shine and stronger too.

    -*-

Soon after, I went to Bali for a few days, I swam and enjoy my days under the sun, the color stays, even with that many washes. I'm happy with the result, the color not easily worn out and there's still shine on my hair.

I did some terrible things by having my hair permed and bleached in such a short period, they didn't have time to heal nor survived, hence the color on the part where the hair is severely broken looses the color faster than the rest (healthier part).

    -*-

    Overall,

Beautylabo Hair Color provide a fashion color with a vivid and long lasting effect that suits our skin tone as the shades are gorgeous and perfect for a trend setter. The fresh tone gave me a younger looking and made me feels good about myself.

The product is very easy to be used at home without expertise and as long as we read the instruction and details thoroughly the chance to fail is near impossible.

Thank you so much Kawaii Beauty Japan and Beautylabo for the opportunity to review Candy Apricot, see you again soon!!
