Crocs Candy on Senayan City

On 19th May 2011, I got an invitation from Crocs for Crocs Candy launching event. As an avid user of Crocs, I think coming down here is just a natural call. Surprisingly all other guest didn't even bother to use their Crocs, it seems like I'm the only one proudly using one of my favorite Crocs.

Finally, after 6.30 PM the MC, Ms Lupie (sorry if misspelling occurred) start the show with dress by Cynthia Tan and shoe by Crocs Candy.

Then a few words from Crocs Senior Brand Manager about the products, hmm...I suppose a presentation with a slide could interest me more than just words. Bottom line: Crocs Candy is a new product for Crocs 2011 using TPU material that stronger than the previous collection yet still light and more colorful. Transparent colors also seen here and there.

The emphasize is on odor free, chic, stylish, fashionable, and most of all, it's all about feel good revolution.

Then they have a bit of Q&A with representative from Marie Claire, Girlfriend and Crocs for how Crocs Candy will be in the society, trend and consumer. Both Marie Claire and Girlfriend agree that Crocs Candy style and design will match the consumer needs for comfort and eye for colors right now.

Then The Body Shop step on and do a makeup tips how your Crocs Candy suits your look and it's all about color. Do you see all of them on stage are using Crocs Candy?

Then it's time for the guest to participate on the game of dressing-up, where 3 people will give 3 models a look, unfortunately all of them choose casual look, and that gorgeous jacket that I have my eyes on at the props is wasted.

Here are the winners of the game with the judges (from Marie Claire, Girlfriend, and Crocs). They get prizes from The Body Shop, Crocs and Marie Claire, nice isn't it?! These prizes alone have made one over enthusiast guest shame-free.

Then, it's fashion show time with dress from Cynthia Tan, shoes from Crocs, accessories from The Little Things She Needs. Followed by kids Fashion Show which I think have the cutest Crocs Candy of them all ^_^

Then during the roundup this is Ms Cynthia Tan.

Last but not least another prize for one of the lucky contestants which is a free Crocs, then the announcement of lucky draw and it's a wrap guys. All guest come home with a goodies bag filled with candy, one very cute Crocs Candy charm, and an old magazine of Marie Claire.

Overal I think the event went very well, cleverly organized, and the product itself which is Crocs Candy deserved to be celebrated.

Carl's Jr La Piazza Grand Opening

On 18th May, 2011 Carl's Jr Opened their 3rd branch in Indonesia. After the first one in Grand Indonesia, 2nd in Emporium Pluit Mall, now they have a new branch in La Piazza. I am one of the lucky one able to attend this event with my brother.

We arrived on the spot at 10 AM but they let us in around 10.30 AM, it seems that, there's a slight delay due to unknown reason.

Each guess who came have to signed a guestbook and given a cup for free flow drink.

A voucher for a burger meal and a milkshake also given upon entering, hmm, what kind of drink would I like to have today?

On 11:13 the event is starting with the speeches from key persons of Carl's Jr USA, Asia and Indonesia.

Then it's time to cut the ribbon.

After the short ceremony it's time to taste Hand-Breaded Chicken Tender Wrappers that come with 2 different sauce, one is Barbecue (BBQ) and the other is Mayo. I like the Mayo whilst my bro likes the BBQ better. We both think the chicken is too salty whilst my daughter (who I bring one home to) says she like the chicken very much. I would like more veggie and some salsa tomatoes inside the wrap for the juiciness. All of us like the thin wrap for being so delicate, soft and so easy to eat.

The Fries is thick and with skin on it, I like the fact that the fries tasted more fresh than other 'fast-food' joint and with some skin the flavor is stronger while my bro like other fries, I guess it's personal and for me if you feel like these kind of fries is not your thing no worries, Carl's Jr have other side dish to offer from Onion Rings to CrissCut Fries or perhaps some Chilli Cheese Fries.

Other thing that I like from Carl's Jr is their smiley star logo, like a symbol of happy customers.

Am I happy? Yup, not because of the freebies alone, but my Portobello Mushroom and Chilli Cheese Burger that available in more strategic locations now. Nutriganics Smoothing Day Cream

Now we are in the moisture zone. After cleansing and use the toner we can zip in and have the moisture sealed on your skin, keeping the skin moist and protected for up to 12 hours.

Many people think that this step is important, what I think is this step is as important as the rest, you need cleansing and toning as well. I open the wrapping and there you can read (on the store too) sorry for the rotation, I can't do a thing, Blogger made it that way and I can't rotate it back the way it was supposed to :(

This small bottle contain a wonderful cream that not just moisturizing but for me from the first touch this rich cream gives a relaxing feeling. The scent is lovely green, delicate, rich but surprisingly easy to absorb.

I like the fact that the ingredients are natural, organic and not just organics but certified organics. The Body Shop kept their promise for always deliver community trade ingredients and 100% vegetarian, they use nature's goodness and never tested on animals.

I use 2/3 of a pump since for me a full pump is too much for my entire face. The cream is slightly thick, white and soft to the touch.

I dab on my 5 spots to help it spread easily. Then use my palms to gently massage the cream in.

Remember to use the upward motion for the cheeks to help tone the skin, for the forehead massage it outward direction, for the nose area I massage the cream in, and for the neck I use upward and outward direction.

Do the gentle massage slowly and enjoy the process, there is no need to rush and ruined the moment, your skin need time to absorb the cream and let it be done according to the time your skin need. No worries 5 minutes is maximum, 1-3 minutes is usually enough for me. Take note, during my first use I feel warm tingling sensation on the sides of my nose and between the cheeks. It probably because of my enlarge pores. But after one use the next day I don't feel it again.

As you can see there's a luminous glow after using the Smoothing Day Cream from Nutriganics and to the touch I feel softer and silky. The skin also feels the benefit from massaging the skin with Nutriganics Smoothing Day Cream, it looks more toned and ready to face the day.

Tips: Use a sunblock afterward and best to use the serum before the moisturizer, I've tried Nutriganics Serum and it absorb super fast, if you want maximum 'power' of Nutriganics, get the whole deal ^o^

Nutriganics Refreshing Toner

The next in the range is Nutriganics Refreshing Toner which prepares the skin for moisturization. The scent is also gorgeous, fresh and green. The liquid feels a bit rich, I can't say it is a gel but not very watery too. The color is clear and feels silky.

Best to be used after cleansing your face with Nutriganics range too. Many pros and cons about toner, and I read it in Yahoo couple days ago that toner is unnecessary...well, yes if you need it solely for the pores. Nutriganics toner contain ingredients that calm and refresh the skin, not only for cleansing properties but softening the skin too for the serum and/or moisturizer can penetrate better.

I found two ways to use this product, the first one would be damp a cotton ball/sheet with enough amount of toner for your face. Gently swipe them to catch residue leftover from cleansing step, again gentle wipe is enough, not a stroke is needed. I read a review that the toner causes some white-ish residue, for me? It can easily be solved by the gentleness of the swiping. Yes, if you're in a hurry, the toner won't have enough time to absorb and it need time to go into your skin lower layer, so be patience and do it gently. A firm and slower motion is enough, no need to be too slow.

Or you can put it into your palm, then dab it on your skin, use both palm and firmly dab your cheek area first in upper motion, then your forehead again with your palm, then your nose and chin. Tap for a better absorption then use your palm to gently wipe the cheeks, then forehead area, then use the finger for nose and chin until the toner is distributed evenly. Again, if you rush, there will be white-ish residue, so a gentle firm wiping gesture is needed.

What I feel afterward? The skin feels refreshed, toned, smooth and silky, and again the scents is lovely and saying: I'm ready! Give me a moisture now to complete the set.

Foaming facial Wash-Nutriganics

Have you tried the new skincare range from The Body Shop available here in Jakarta? Yes, It's Nutriganics. This is the first in the range to be used. Foaming Facial Wash from Nutriganics, you can read more about the ingredients and interlude on my previous post. So this post is all about the first experience.

You can use it twice daily or thrice if you feel need to. The self foaming device is very handy, do you know it's the foam that gently cleans our skin, so always foamed up ^o^

I pumps twice almost every time, the gorgeous scents is just lovely, it's green and calming. My advice? Enjoy this experience every time you use it, remember all the natural oils and ingredients that is good for the skin, so don't hurry, relax and take it easy. Massage your face gently, let it clean every angle, every inch of your skin.

Enjoy the scents while the foam cleanse your skin from daily dirt, debris and sweat. Yes, if you use makeup, especially heavy waterproof makeup, do clean them first using makeup remover then follow with Nutriganics Foaming Facial Wash. If you use sunblock, please do double cleansing, so you wash your face two times since the sunblock is a chemical that need extra cleansing.

Enjoy the foam as it is soft and delicate, and rinse thoroughly after you are done. Gently wipe dry your face or simply tap dry and you can feel the smoothness and it feels a bit silkiness on your skin. Your skin will feel fresh too and rejuvenate.

Oh those nasty feet!

This post is dedicated for those people with stinky feet, haha! Sorry, I used to be one of those people and my sis too, sorry sis, didn't meant to spill your beans here. Relax, I know there's many of you, no need to be shy it's one out of two you know, so some of you may admit it while the rest didn't :D joking!

Okay, now for the last couple of years, yes, I have lived that long, I've tried many things, solutions, of whatever possible come across my mind and affordable, I know there's this surgery that will surely work but come one! It is too expensive. So these things you can easily find in your daily life....convenient isn't it?!

Review:
The product can easily be altered, so just cut them according to your size and put it inside your shoes, yes closed shoes makes odor worse, so they are fragrant. When I use them for the first time it was fragrant, but the mix between my sweat and the fragrant and the odor, it's just, yucky! It doesn't last more than 5 perhaps so I have to keep changing them and I hate the mixed smell of it afterward. One more thing, since it is a sole you put inside your shoe/flats/whatever, it made the shoe feels tighter and sometime too tight and unwearable.

I also used many essentials oils put inside a warm slightly hot pail of water (kills those germs with the heat, haha! Not suggesting thou') and drop these oils...a drop, two, more when I'm upset, and dip my feet in. Soak them like a good 15-30 minutes and depends on the quality of the oils and the type, you can use eucalyptus oil, peppermint, mint, lavender, etc. But I found eucalyptus oils to be the best, next is tea tree oil, it immediately reduce the smell of the feet and last around a week, so you need to do it like once a week. So again the effectiveness depends on the quality of the oils. There 's like a lot of brand out there, my suggestion, get the oils from producers that are well known and got those certificate for being real.

Scholl's Active Deo that claimed to have 24 hour protection against odor, and this is the last product I bought...that cost me money and it didn't work. Yup, it didn't work. I does have a mediocre nice citrus scents but it made my feet slippery and after like 2-3 hours the odors come back. My sis have the same experience. Again the mix between the scent and the odor plus the slippery effect it's just wrong, dude! I stop using it after couple days of attempt and try to figure it out the best way to use it. I rarely use sock, since I use flats, and actually I don't need odor control when using socks and this product best used with socks and it wouldn't be slippery, but for me, I don't use socks for my flats, so? You can use it if you use socks and shoe, but the mix of the scent and the odor is definitely not my thing.

Clean your feet is the best way to remove odor? Sometime if you peel all those outer skin from your feet. I used this Japanese product called Milky Foot, it is pricey but it does help, not just the odor is gone (until the skin is piling up again like couple of months) my feet also become so smooth and soft to the touch, almost like a baby's feet. Almost! Not really like a baby's feet that is so smooth. The downside is when your odor already back and the skin on your feet is still to thin to use this product again. I don't like using those hard things/sharpy/ whatever that need rubbing the dead skin away, for me Milky Foot is better since the difficult part in between fingers also removed.

Conclusion:
Positive side: It work plus you got a smooth, soft and prettier feet afterward
Negative: pricey and you can't keep peeling all those dead skin away, your feet can feel sore for being to thin on the skin.




My best found solution: TEA BAGS!!!

They are cheap cheap cheap and work work work well :D (super big grin).

How: Drop some tea bags on a pail of hot water, like 2-3 tea bags (any brand you can found, the cheaper the better....kidding, but seriously just a normal tea bag will do, no need green tea, jasmine, Dilmah, etc)
Wait until the tea mixed with the water or the water turns to you know...tea color... then pour some cold water until the water is bearable to be dip in or for kids (yes, they can) use lukewarm water. Soak your stinky feet inside and relax. It help when you watch TV during it or magazine, or have a face mask, creambath....you know whatever you can think of. Soak like 15-30 minutes and dry them, or take a shower, or again up to you, the odor is gone.....for a week or so heehee. But you have a solution there, no more odor, no slipperiness, no stuffy shoe, it's just odor-free. It's cheap, easy and it work. Do it regularly like once a week and you are free from embarrassment every time you need to take off your shoe in public places.

Psst...it helps on other area too, just soak more tea bags in a bath tub and dip your self in it.

My review:

Derma Genesis Cellular Youth Nurturing Skincare

Like the original product of Derma Genesis Cellular Youth, it was able to make my skin feels smoother, but I like Derma Genesis better since the fine lines are plumped faster. During Derma Genesis moments I use the serum, day and night cream for a full month (until the product is finished) and since the first time using it the result are clear. My face looks younger.

So perhaps the Pore Minimizing Smoother comes up after those who achieve plumper looking skin from Derma Genesis (the original) wants more finer pores.

Unlike Derma Genesis, Pore Minimizing Smoother can be used anytime, it doesn't separated from the day and night. This bluish tube have a white gel cream that absorb fast and convenient to use, it's not sticky at all just after apply it gently like 2 seconds, your skin will feel softer and the pore do look minimize. The scent is delicate, I don't think anyone would've mind for being floral.

So if you are looking for a younger skin overall (less fine lines, plumper, less saggy, better radiance and glow) you can use Derma Genesis Cellular Youth but if you think your skin still young enough but have problems with gigantic pores you can choose Pore Minimizing Smoother. Or you can simply mix and match them. Like on the day time I still prefer Day cream from Derma Genesis since it provide me a good SPF, so it kinda all in one, then in the afternoon I use Pore minimizing Smoother, and at night before bed time I can use Derma Genesis Night Cream.

The serum itself is wonderful, it absorb so much faster and gives my skin the boost it need. I'm not really a fan of an eye cream/gel, I always prefer a mask, since it is easier and I hate how sometime it get into my eyes, I use contact lenses and sometime I rub my eyes, but if you need an eye cream/gel for those tiny wrinkle you can use Derma Genesis since from my experience it is good and the result can be immediate.

After a month using these products you will get used to seeing your skin tighter and smoother, so when you discontinue the product of course nature will take it's course and the aging process begin again.

Now why do I leave the toner? I didn't! For me I can't feel any obvious result when using it alone, so it's just to prepare the cleaned skin for moisturizing.

Conclusion: It does what it say.
